Hey Guys, Could anyone help me with a box design, I built some sealed ones, but I just am not sure how to calculate the ports and tuning with ported ones. Even with the Box calculator's. I am looking for a box to hold 2 15 BL's and a box for 1 15 BL. Tuned from 28-32 Hz, Not sure on what would sound better. 30"depth 42"width 20" heigth these are the specs I wanna work with, I can fit more but, this is really what I wanna stay around Anyway, Thankx to anyone that can help me with this. I am having problems with my btl's. It just started recently, when i listen to music the subs start to make loud popping sounds, Instead of a flow of bass they pop. But if i play just a tone then they seem to be fine.

I have read from many 04/05 XXX users that the tinsel sometimes break. My friends 12" just broke last week and we're trying to get some tinsel wires and there so hard to find. Forum members have told me to talk to scott or nick at Fi car audio to get some. Seems they might be busy since i didn't get a reply. Hoping they see this and respond back. thanks

I am hoping some one can help me design a ported box for a single 12" Q I am going to run it off of a DLS A6, 1200 watts rms x 1 @ 1 ohm the DLS amp only has a subsonic filter fixed at 25 Hz. The dimensions that will fit in the trunk of my 2003 Nissan Altima are: 33" Length x 14" Height x ? Depth is the only variable my front stage consists of DLS UP6 (6.5" components, mid in doors and tweeters in A-pillars) the front stage is bi-amped and ran off of a Tru Technology B-745 ( 100 watts rms x 4) my goal is for the sub to blend well with the front stage and to sound musical and dynamic.

Hello, I'm new to the forum and would like to say to the Fi section I've done a lot reading here and searching but never really found the answer I'm looking for. I already have a Kicker sx900.2 and looking to get a single 12" SSD. From the research I found so far I've came to the conclusion that getting a SSD 12" with the copper coil option would be my best bet for the kicker? The amp would run bridged, 850 watts @ 4 ohms so would the kicker be a good match for the ssd? If not any help would be appreciated. Just trying to get some feedback before I make my purchase. This will be my first time buying a Fi sub or even listening to one for that matter. I can't wait! thanks…

Okay so the Fi Q15 recommends a Ported box: 2.8-4 cuft @ 28-33Hz.... Using the Measurements below will i successfully build a box 4FT^3 tuned to 33Hz ? Or is the Websire giving me False Info ? Website used is Subwoofer Enclosure Calculators, Fraction to Decimal, Parallel, Series, Port Length and Volume Calculators

Hey, I'm looking to build a new box strictly for street beating. I'm looking to tune it down to 30 hz. It's going in a Mazda 6 so I don't have excessive room to work with... External dimensions of the box will be 40" wide 27" deep and 17" high (double layer on top). Sub will be facing up as well as the port. I was thinking of putting the sub in the middle of the box, closer to the back of the car, and the port closer to the front of the car facing up. What would be better for music? 3", 4", 5" or 6" port width? Any ideas guys?

Okay so im going with a 12" Q with the BP option and an audioque 1200D amp. I want to port this sub around 33Hz. How big of a box should i make? I know Fi recommends anywhere from 1.8-2.5 cubic feet but what would be the best? Would it be better to go bigger than 2.5 cubic feet or should i just stay around that number? Thanks

I'm sending in my 3 hp motors to be reconed on WED. I need a addy to send them to. Also I believe its $148 to have them reconed to 18's including shipping each. Correct? So I you could let me know where to send them, and if its ok to sen'd a m/o with the motor, or would it be bast to calll me and I'll pay over the phone with my Debit card?? Thanks, Joe. P Also The 3hp's have the tall top plate. would there be any benefit to miacine cooling channels in the top plate?? Could you do a fully poly cap on the 18" recone(like a havoc), I've seen 1 done, and a 10 with a poly and Fi logo, I'd love to have a full poly with the FI logo. Would look great..

Hello, i'm looking at getting a Fi Audio 12" SSD sub. So I was wondering if a square port of 29.25 is alright? My box is 2.1 @ 33Hz. Thats after all displacements. I haven't build a ported box before, so i'm learning how to.

My old box designed by chris fishercustoms, for daily pounder. Its 49"w x 26"h x 32.25" d with port facin back 9"w x 23.75"h tuned to 33hz. Everybody that sees it says it is way to big and should only b around 14 to 16 cubes. But fi recommends 8 to 10 cubes each. Anyway it sounded good on everything, but I took it out and tried a 4th order bandpass which was good also. Now I want want my backseat back and thought bout tryin some aero's. Any suggestions on the new box, aero's or stay with slot? Thanks

After speaker displacement I have 2.46 cu ft, I need to figure the port for tuning to 32 hz (recommended by Fi) I was looking at about 28 sq in of port, how long would the port be ? Do I need more port area ? If so what would recommend ? My enclosure is 43w x 14h x 7.5d(combination of top and bottom divided x 2). Thank you for all your help.

Ok so on the 10, 15, and 18" bl the fs for both the d1 and d2 are the same, but on the 12 d1 is 35.2 and d2 is 39.8hz. I was wondering if that was a misprint or if someone knew the reason it was so different. I wanted a 12 d2 for daily but that fs seems kind of high especially when im used to the lows of my q...

Yes i read the sticky at the top of the page, but i just wanted to see what people thought. I haven't bought anything yet, but what about a hifonics bxi2006d (yeah i know its not sundown or anything), at 1ohm (1800-1900 watts im guessing?), on a bl 18 with p chamfer and flatwind? would that be enough to handle 1800 rms? I know i could turn the amp down, but i wanted some input.
