Need a new efficient comp set. Doors are well sound deadend, and have about 65rms @ 4ohm or 130rms @ 2ohm to work with (I dont like to run my amps at full power, especially in this heat). Looking for a as much midbass as I can get (resonably), and very dull tweeters. I cant stand high pitched sounding tweets, I have my Crescendos on -3DB and the HU's 5th band set to -5DB to get them right for me. For budget, Im looking for the best bang for the buck. $80-100 or less would be ideal, though I can do about $150-160 at most. I was thinking of trying Infinity since they are 2ohm and will get me a bit more power. The Refrence 6030CS or Kappa 60.9CS. Was also considering a set…

Purchased an saz-1000d so i had a place to start with because i honestly couldnt make up my mind what i wanted to do so i just decided to buy something and get started. I currently have 1 jl w6 and i would like louder, but still sound really good playing music. I will be getting a box custom made, i am now down to picking the subs... So a couple questions... What should i go with considering the amp. 1 15" or 2 12" Including the box, i am looking to spend somewhere in the 700.00 range. I hope that this has given ample enough information to tell you what i want so you guys can point me in the right direc…

Will be have approximately 250 watts supplied. Needs to be a 2 ohm load. Enclosure is .76cu' GROSS volume. 3/4 mdf construction. Port is 2" x 11" sch 40 PVC, flared on outlet end. I was hoping some of you guys could help me, I am looking for a couple of 12's and an amp for my truck The truck is an f-250 diesel, and I previously had 2 12's ported through the bed, and this is the way I'd like to go again so I can fill the big hole in the cab. I'm more concerned with sound quality than overall SPL. I like what I have read about the FI Q's, and am leaning towards those, but am open for other suggestions in the same price range. I am also looking for a low to mid priced amp to go with these subs. I am looking for a reliable combination that won't be pushing the subs on the ragged edge all the time. I don't think my installer performed any electrical …

So I have installed a set of Sundown-cs6.5 and running off a ppi 900.4 in my car and have found that the tweeters are almost too harsh. From what I have read this is a characteristic of this style. I have made adjustments to my current amplifier and have not found a way to help with this. Looking for advice on helping me tune these in. Or if there are other options some help in a direction it would be appreciated. very new to this i have just been tuning with my ear. I also understand everyone hears differently before M5 starts bashing me for this.

I'm trying to decide on a set of 6.5" components for my new system. It's a daily SQ driver that I've already exceeded the budget for with the following: HU: Pioneer DEH-P5900iB Comp Amp: Sundown SAX-100.4 Sub: Sound Splinter RL-i8 DVC 4 Sub Amp: Sundown SAE-1000D I wanted to get Focal 165-V2's, but can't find a reputable online seller (local retailers are overpriced). I settled for the 165-V1's from Sonic Electronix, but I've never heard them in person... and I think they have a similar tweeter to the 165-A1's, which sounds harsh. I've read plenty of good anecdotal evidence in favor of CDT components, but I've never heard them in person. And there seem to be a *lot* o…

Just ordered my IA 187 12'' I was wondering if anyone can look over my numbers here to be sure that the box I'm planning on building will work correctly.(for a 12) IA Suggests. Ported 2 cubes - 2.5 cubes, 20 - 30 Inches of Port, 28-35 Hz I have designed a box using this tool. http://www.reaudio.c...t_Box_Calc.html Width 28" Box Height 16" Box Top Depth 12" Box Bottom Depth 18" Wood Thickness 0.75" Square Port Width 1.5" Square Port Length 4" (seems to help tune it in) This gives me. 30.063035251515 Hz It may possibly be less once i put the sub in and account for the .09cuft of space that takes up. I'm asking here, with these variables, Will this box sound good, and work w…

I have built 2 boxes for these things and both have sounded like trash. I know they require about .6 cubes but I have yet to find the port area that is needed. I used winisd for both boxes and I have an insainamount of port noise the last box has a port 3.25x8.5x39 and I think the port length is to long already and I didn't have enough room for a larger port due to it getting longer. What size box and port should I go with?

Hello everyone, I am hoping to get some resolve here. I have been searching all forums and websites for wiring diagrams and color codes and information on switching from a stock 8" factory sub/amp to an aftermarket amp/sub. My hope is to upgrade from the small factory amp and 8" sub to possibly one 12 or two 10s. My first journey started with trying to find out what each color wire going into the factory subbox meant and then I started getting all the advice of what I had to use. I have had a lot of people tell me that I can only use a certain size amp with certain size ohms and other information. I am not a stereo technician, but I am mechanically inclined. Is…

For subs right now I plan on walling my suv to the front seats and am putting in 4 18" Xcons. I want my front stage to play as loud as possible without breaking my budget of 5-600 dollars. This is what I have scoped out right now and please let me know what you think. Crossover on the sub will most likely be around 50-60hZ. Woofer http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=297-056 Midrange http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-550 Tweeters http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=45_229_246&products_id=290 I also found these Image Dyamic Horns on craigslist http://houston.craigslist.org/ele/1305666743.html I have been …

So as many of you know I have built several car systems, but I have never had the pleasure of using decent speakers for my front sound stage. So I am looking for suggestions. The vehicle is a 2003 Honda Element, Speaker locations as of this point will be factory. (6.5" door, tweeters in a-pillar). The car does have the integrated amps and sub, but I will be removing all of that eventually. The build will not take place for a while, I'm just starting to plan my build. I will be looking at running an active set up. I am also willing to take advice on amps. I currently have no equipment that I will be re-using. This will be a fresh build. Any thoughts on: TAngband underhu…
