Subwoofers / Speakers

HELP please WHich would be the best for the rear of my rsx...i want something that is clean sounding, has nice mid range presence (spl) and will give me crisp, accurate highs. I am currently looking at cyrstal csx615, infinity kappa 652,5i, polks db675, and image dynamics ctx6. I have cdt classic comps in front with silk tweets. Which speakers would suite my needs best as I do not have a store locally taht has any of the aforementioned speakers. Thanks

right now i have a jl e6450 amp http://www.carsound.com/articles/publish/article_268.shtml and im getting these type 4 components http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/p...ng=en&tab=F the amp does 70 watts at 4 ohms and 110 watts at 2 ohms my question is can u wire components to get the 2 ohm load? cause the alpine type r components are 4 ohm and i dont want them getting 70 watts when they can be getting the 110

Well I'm bout to run 2 12" titaniums in my house for my boom box. But I will run them in my truck until I get my new wall built. Anybody heard bad things about these? I know about the surround issue but anything else?

I am currently building my first enclosure. When it comes to building the double front baffle should I do choice 1 or 2. 1. Should I glue the two pieces together. Then router my hole for my speaker. 2. Router my two holes. Then glue my boards together. Thnaks I know this is a simple just trying to make it easier on myself.

I just got a new car! 2010 Jeep Patriot. Dimensions in the back without touching the back seats are about 38wx22dx22h, in inches. I currently have a Soundstream DTR 2200.1, stock battery/alt under the hood (115 amp alt) and a second yellow top battery. I'm looking to upgrade the alternator early next year, but have to keep it stock for now. I'm looking for SPL, daily driver, so SPL on music pretty much (dubstep, some rap). Given the gear I have currently, and the dimensions in the rear, what would be an optimal setup? I'm leaning toward x2 SA-15's as 6cuft@34hz should be doable with those dimensions. So I need some testimonials. I've read most of the threads related to them on here, I just want MORE! nah not too much. I've just gotta nut up and do it. I'm thinking about putting a 15D2 in a 3.0-3.5 cubic foot ported box, one tune to 32 hz or so, another to 45 or so. How much port area does this sub like? Also, I'm a fan of quick, tight bass. Will this setup deliver for me? I'm forward-facing it in my trunk, and sealing off behind it. I was just a little worried because the group delay is 2.5 times that of my current setup of four sealed flat cone ED 12K's. I have talked to a tech about this and want to know what i should do... I only have 1 sundown 100.4 to work with so there's my power source. I have 2 Image Dynamic CXS65s that are 100wrms components. I also have 2 Image Dynamic CX62s that are 150wrms @2ohm. They are wired to the sundown. I need more midrange... The tweeter level is bout right but i need more midrange, a lot more. CDT said i might wanna try out their new CenterStage kit which consists of 2 2" midrange tweeters mounted on the dash that drastically increases midrange. I have narrowed down to 1 12" ported, 2 10" ported or 2 12" sealed for bass racing! The ported box will be tuned to 32hz.

do you think the level 5 would be able to handle a stetsom 7k per sub in a 6th order bandpass cause im going to have 2 15s and 2 amps, the rear chamber will be 6 cubes tuned to 40 htz and the front chamber is 24 i think let me know your input

i have a 2000 explorer. my box takes up the entire cargo area. i need to put 2 batteries somewhere in the car..any suggestions. theyre too tall to put under the back seats and too wide to put next to the box. im out of ideas here.....? (posting for magnolia guy)

I am looking into getting a 18" Fi Bl or Q for daily use. Just a little caught in between the two right now. Is going in a Hyundai xg300 powered by a kicker zx1500.1. my only concern is space(32w 17h 33d) those are external demolitions before displacements if i go with the bl it has to have a ported box and they tend to be bigger than regular sealed boxes. i would prefer to do this by making a deep box that takes up my whole trunk but at the same time i wont be able to slide it in easily or at all if i go with the Q i am sure i can get a sealed box made that will fit in probably with a little poly fill. So I havent been on in awhile due to work and my amp being muffed up(my fault I think). I will be sending my amp into Sundown this week and while I am waiting to hear back about it I wanted to look into some component sets and I have found myself asking a couple of questions. Right now I have 2 pair of coaxial speakers, both being 6.5. I want to step it up into the big boy world and get a 2 way set to try out. My questions are will I be able to power them with just the head unit or should I look into getting a 2 channel amp? My head unit is the Alpine CDA-9883. which do u think would be better SQ and SPL wise? both would be in 2 15's and have a Hifonics BX1800D amp on each. i just dont know if 2 15" RE XXX's would be better or if 2 15" Brahma's would be better...

I have a sealed box that I bought for my Trans Am (well, Firebird back then, before I upgraded) about 7 years ago. I love the way it looks, and it allows me to store my T-tops in the rear. It was made for 2x 12" Kicker L5s, which I just got rid of because they sounded sloppy. They were loud, but not in a great way. I am in the process of modifying the box to allow 12" circle subs, and each chamber will have around 1.1cu ft each. I want my setup this time around to be a little cleaner and sound better. HDC4 15.. Yes I know coil smell is not good at all but I am breaking these subs in with power now.. I first broke them in for a week with a nendo 2k at 20hz half power.. They are now on a CT sounds 7k. The amp is DD1'd and the subs bang really hard.. But I am smelling coil smell when i am at the DD1 max volume set. after a few minutes.. I back down the volume as soon as I smell it and have recently turned the gain down a bit more.. Just curious how long I will smell this during the subs break in period.. They are wired @1ohm also.. so I know I am not overpowering the subs at all.. There is barely 3k going to them.. Opinions?

Well this wknd I got so pissed off... you know the type where you want to distroy the world. Anyway I through a remote(big TV remote) and the bastard thing smached into my sub busting the dustcap and slightly denting the top of the coil. Now Im going to try and fix it but need to know if i can use a domed dustcap where the previous one was inverted. will it change the sound/performance alot? was planning to use it for an SPL project as this budget sub gets louder then my BL and can take the abuse. It cant take a direct hit from a remote though. would appreciate your imput.

im looking for a new sub, and just found out about stereo integrity subs. they seem great and i would probably try one out if it can be put into my subbox. the thing is that its just 0.8 cft big. thats without a driver. would it be terrible to put that 12" sub into this box??? btw: its a sealed box, and it would be powered by a phoenix gold ZPA 0.5 (about 1000+ watts)

Well don't know if you guys remember or not but I was going to do a comparison between the D2 15" and the xxx 15" so I bought both, the RE 15" is coming and I haven't heard it yet so I don't want to cancel my order cause I want a chance to hear it first, if I like the RE sub I'll keep it, if not I'll buy another D2. My nitrous setup is going to cost a little more than I spected so the wife made me compromise Its in mint condition. Just bought it last week. maybe has 2-3 hours on it. was looking at Sundown Audio SA-6.5CS and Skar Audio VXI65 6.5 because there on the site. what do u recommend? what other brands and models to you recommend? i havent looked at amps yet but if you can match up some stuff. this will be going with 2 12 icons on a sundown 1200. front and rear speakers are all 6.5.

would it be a good deal to buy a re mx 18 that has one bad coil for 100 cash. ive got a quote on a recone of 182 but shipping will be another 60 there and back. what do you all think
