I have talked to a tech about this and want to know what i should do... I only have 1 sundown 100.4 to work with so there's my power source. I have 2 Image Dynamic CXS65s that are 100wrms components. I also have 2 Image Dynamic CX62s that are 150wrms @2ohm. They are wired to the sundown. I need more midrange... The tweeter level is bout right but i need more midrange, a lot more. CDT said i might wanna try out their new CenterStage kit which consists of 2 2" midrange tweeters mounted on the dash that drastically increases midrange. They have no power rating or ohm load rating so i dont know if i can hook em up to the amp or not... They want $400 for em and i dont know b…

Im looking for a ten inch alum woofer to get a little more detail in the front. I would like to lower the tuning frequency on my 15 and looking to add 2 10s to blend with my germaniums then moving to the kicks (Only use two of the four mids). Main thing would have to be able to run IB as my doors are deadened and sealed pretty well. I used plexi to seal off any compartmental openings and then prayed a window motor never goes out but essentially im working on my processing now and think this would be a good step forward prior to making my selections. THanks for any recommendations. I currently use two 3/4 mdf spacers and reflex pads. figure i can get away with the ten…

Hello, My FI neo 4.x 15" will be arriving soon and I'm trying to get some ideas for the enclosure ill be building. I was thinking around 4.5 cubes tuned to 30-32 htz with an 8 inch versa tune aero port. Going to triple baffle the box and have some internal bracing. max dimensions for my GTI are 30x28x28 Still new to car audio so id really appreciate if someone could verify that the enclosure im building would sound good. my sub is the neo 4.7 15" with an extra spider and omega coil, yes i know i should have gone with the 4.9 oh well... thanks

Ok Im looking on getting my amp for my door speakers.. I only listen to rap and NOTHING else.. I plan on using the Mach 5 Audio MLI-65 They say they are 100 rms at 4 ohm? Now the question is, Cud I wire them up into 2 ohm and just use a two channel amp ran at 2 ohms? Or shud I just buy the four channel amp and run them at 4 ohms? My amp choices that im stickign with are.. Rockford Fosgate T4004 Does 50 x 4 @ 4 ohms and its under rated.. Or.. Rockford Fosgate T3002 Does 100 x 2 @ 2 ohms and its under rated.. Not sure which to choose.. And are those Mach 5 Audio speakers straight speakers to run? And other suggestions im open to but Im sticking to Rockford Fosgate for the …

Well, finally got the two Mach 5 15's in my 98 F150 ext cab today. They are in 6cuft tuned at 30 hz. First off, the woofers are just plain sexy. So simple, not over the top, and solid. After I got them installed I played a few bass test tracks and couldn't believe how clean they were... Now i've never owned a super expensive sq woofer by anymeans, but these compared to my 12 w3s from a little while back blow them away in the sq department. As for the myth of no sq with ported, throw that out the window with this woofer. It is a litte boomy at some notes, but not enough to distract, just enough to notice if you are looking for it. Now, as for being loud.. they can do that …

I have a 2003 dodge ram im looking to put a setup in under the back seat. I will be building a fiberglass sealed box conformed to the underseat area shape. It will net me a minimum of 1.75ft3. Im just looking for hard hitting bass, no top of the line setup. Budget for the subs is around $300+-, i would imagine 2 10's would probably be my best route? I just went around to all the shops here in town for different opinions. I know Kicker is normally frowned upon, but a few places suggested the new Comp R 10's and a cx1200.1. I cant seem to find much info on the new subs, i was told these new subs are from a better sound engineer kicker hired recently but it could be BS for a…

Hey Guys I have a few questions with a new stereo install on my 2014 F350 super duty crew cab. I currently have 2 phoenix Gold D2 12's with a Phoenix gold elite.1 amp. The subs output 1600 RMS each and the custom box build is at 34hz. I have custom cut my door panels to fit 5 1/2" focal speakers and tweets using 1/4" MDF. The back seat is a 60/40 split bench and the backrest all the way across has been removed to accommodate the sub box into the cab to provide more room. I have installed 100% dynamat into the 4 doors, the roof and the back panel. I have two AGM batteries under the hood that operate the diesel truck. There is also two factory alternators that will now be g…

I'm ready to start this bad boy. This will be a totaL SQ install (I hope). I'm starting from scratch. The Altima is completly stock. Here are the plans... Front Stage 2-way or 3-way (if it will work) up front. Components that I'm considering are as follows: Tweets Peerless 810921 (big flange , but I think I can work with it). Vifa XT 255C5G (already have a pair) Seas 27TAFNCC (heard great things about it, but not a real big fan of aluminium tweets) Woofer Seas CA22RNX 8" Peerless SLS 830667 8" I can fit and 8" in the doors with a bit of modification. Power? Not sure yet. I'm a big fan of Zed and would love a Draconia (already have on e in the truck). I'm considering the …

so i have 2 15" mags powered by my Incriminator 20.1 @ 0.5 ohms. And it gets loud and sounds great but i would love to go ported but just can't fit a 7^3@30 htz box in my trunk. So what would be the smallest ported enclosure you would use for 2 15"s? i can fit 5 cf@30 no problem but much more than that and i'm hurtin'

Hey fellas. I just started back installing at Best Buy and have moved my old setup (Fi Q15 and Cadence iA7) to my winter truck. Its time to upgrade the 300C. After getting a damn good accomodation price I am awaiting the arrival of a Kicker ZX1500.1 Details: 2007 Chrysler 300C, Big 3 upgrade, 160 amp alt., room for a 6.5 cf. box. Want: More output then my Q15! Love the Q, just want it louder. I want to purchase a single 15" or 2 12"s for a budget of $500 or less. I am looking for a high output driver that is at least musical enough for daily listening. I did like the Q for the lows and would like to keep that in a higher output sub. So far I am thinking of the following…

Hey I have done a lot of research and have heard that the soundsplinter RL-Ps are amazing for both sound quality and sheer power. I am looking for a setup that will bump and will be heard by people outside of the car, yet will still have good sq. I do not want it to bump so much so that my head is going to hurt after 10 minutes though. I was thinking possibly 2 12 Rl-Ps, but didnt know if those would be too loud for what I am looking for. Maybe even 1 15 Rl-P would work too. I would also like to know which type of box would work well with these subs? What type of amplifier would work well with these different setups? Again I want a system that can have some serious power …

im looking for a new sub, and just found out about stereo integrity subs. they seem great and i would probably try one out if it can be put into my subbox. the thing is that its just 0.8 cft big. thats without a driver. would it be terrible to put that 12" sub into this box??? btw: its a sealed box, and it would be powered by a phoenix gold ZPA 0.5 (about 1000+ watts)

I am looking for some suggestions on subs to replace the two Eclipse SW8100 series 12's I have now. Here is what I have: Kenwood DNX-7100 Audio Control Matrix Audio Control EQS Boston Acoustics ProSeries 6.0 (front) Powered by US Amps USA-4300x @ 3Ohm Bridged. According to the O-Scope, I am getting ~460w per bridged channel @ 3Ohm (unclipped) Stock rears power by HU (2) Eclipse 12" SW8100 Dual 4Ohm Powered by US Amps USA-1000x @ 2Ohm stereo According to the O-Scope I am getting ~630wpc @ 2Ohm stereo (unclipped) The boxes the subs are in are "not much more" than 1^3 sealed, gross internal volume. My goals: Maintain high SQ as I currently have, but find something that is mo…

So over the last 2 years I pre-planned my van build making it clear that I don't want 30Hz-60Hz. That I must have as much 30Hz on down output as possible, but 60Hz on up would be nice as well. With only 1 HO alt, I was able to sort of get by by having my subs LPed at 31.5Hz. Less information to re-create, more power for the narrower band... and that narrower band is very high excursion (low frequency) for more cone motion to keep things cool with a clipped signal. Well I'll be getting 2 more HO alts, so I can bring the LP up to 100Hz where it should be, as I finally moved my 6.5's HP up to 100Hz. But my excursion problem, as predicted, is 25Hz-45Hz, and I want to take …

I just got a new car! 2010 Jeep Patriot. Dimensions in the back without touching the back seats are about 38wx22dx22h, in inches. I currently have a Soundstream DTR 2200.1, stock battery/alt under the hood (115 amp alt) and a second yellow top battery. I'm looking to upgrade the alternator early next year, but have to keep it stock for now. I'm looking for SPL, daily driver, so SPL on music pretty much (dubstep, some rap). Given the gear I have currently, and the dimensions in the rear, what would be an optimal setup? I'm leaning toward x2 SA-15's as 6cuft@34hz should be doable with those dimensions. Only other thing I could think of would be a single higher powered 1…

ok so i have a rockford fosgate power hx2 in a 4.6cuft ported at 40hz. my saz1500 is on its way to db-r for repair. well i got this sub bnib and the only amp i've had on it is a bazooka 500wrms mono. for like 2 months it was wired at 1ohm.well the amp is only 2 ohm stable and it decided it wasnt gonna except the 1ohm load anymore. so its at 4ohm now which would be around 250wrms. i've read and heard that u can underpower subs but read alot more that that is b.s. well the sub is rated at 300-1000wrms and i've been thinkin bout this alot. well i took my ol' lady to work earlier and im hearing what sounds like sumthing againts the box rattling. my box is mounted where my bac…

Well don't know if you guys remember or not but I was going to do a comparison between the D2 15" and the xxx 15" so I bought both, the RE 15" is coming and I haven't heard it yet so I don't want to cancel my order cause I want a chance to hear it first, if I like the RE sub I'll keep it, if not I'll buy another D2. My nitrous setup is going to cost a little more than I spected so the wife made me compromise Its in mint condition. Just bought it last week. maybe has 2-3 hours on it. I'm selling it for the same price as nick sells them. If I don't get the money oh well i'll just keep it I guess cause its worth no less. Since they will not be available for a few month…

A few months ago I replaced all speakers in my car. I have 4" pioneer TS-A1072r speakers in the front doors and 6.5" Pioneer TS-A1673r on the rear deck. The rear speakers are fantastic but the front ones are extremely quite in comparison. The front speakers are also a lot quieter than the crappy stock speakers. At normal listening levels the majority of sound is coming from the back speakers. The front speakers only reach a reasonable level after turning the volume up more than halfway. Since my headunit only has one output (which i'm using from my sub amp) I cant adjust the fader without it affecting the sub. This was my first time installing speakers. On the rear speake…
