i know this isn't really the sight for marine audio, but i got sooooo much help from the forums here about car audio. i recently put a 18" fi btl sub in my jeep. I have a brand new mb sports wakeboarding boat, and the stock system it has is weak! i want to replace the stock speakers, head unit, and put tower speakers, and at least 1 12" sub in the boat. i don't know anything about marine audio though, i need to know good brands out there, install tips, and pretty much everything there is to know about installing boat systems. so if any of you know a thing or two, or could point me in the right direction, it would be AWESOME!!! thanks! ok so im helping a buddy of mine build a sub box for his truck its a regular cab F-150 the sub is a 12" TE model treo sub it has for ported specs from their website: 1.6 cu ft net ,16sq in vent, 18.5 in long, F3=31HZ so i design a wedge box with the dimensions of : Height = 13.5" , width= 40.25" , upper depth = 7" , lower depth = 8.5" he wants it tune to 31Hz so i came up with these dimension for the ports: two 2" ports on each end about 5 in long know i really not sure if this is right or not was wondering if someone could give me there opinion. i dont have a box building program so i did this all my hand just some math work. thanks for your time!

I'm looking for the best overall SQ and SPL, a good balance. I'm only getting one sub cus I don't really have the space for 2. But I'm getting a custom box built around 2.0 cu ft. Tuned around 33hz. I have a Rockford 1000bd-1 (birthsheet 1373rms at 14.4v) . Wired to 1 ohm. Don't say Fi Bl just because your a Fi fan, I need to know which sub is better. THanks

I'll be running a pair of Z15's, I guess I listen to mostly rap, but I spend about half of my listening experience listening to virtually any other genre. Just looking for suggestions on what about I should tune the box to. I was thinking about 33hz, but now find myself second guessing as it comes closer to box building time. Thoughts/inputs/insults?

I am running a Pioneer DEH P7200hd and two Diamond Audio D1 6.5 components in my 2002 GMC Sierra. I want to run two 10"subs in a fitted down firing box under the rear seat(extended cab). I'm planning on using a Sundown SAZ1000D at 2ohms. The box I would like to use is only .77cu ft., which subs do you think would perform better in that limited airspace; 2 Incriminater Audio 10" 187series or 2 SSA 10"DCON or 2 Resonant Engineering 10" SRx or 2 Diamond Audio 10"D1 ????? Please help, thank you. p.s. any other suggestions would also be helpful, but I'd like to stay away from mainstream brands if possible

  15. I have a down fire for 2 12s, sealed box under the seat of my silverado. When I turn the volume up to 13 everything sounds fine when playing a song with big bass. But when I hit 14+ it almost sounds like its bottoming out. But heres the thing, when I put my hand over the bump on the top of the box and press down, that farting, blurping, vibrating (whatever you want to call it) sound goes away. Its only happening on one side Is my box coming undone? Or is it probably my sub? If it could be a box issue, what can I do and how do I find out where the issue is?

Anyone have any experience with is sub? I know that TC just start back up recently but was hoping to get some info on it. What size ported box would be optimum for this driver? Will it be able to handle an AQ2000 am or will that be over-kill? How does this driver compare to other drivers you have used. Is it more SQ or SPL geard? Is it durable in terms of extreme daily uses. How accurate is it? Am wanting to know anything about the sub that is out there right now. I tried accessing the site but got nothing. Thanks

I know I know versus threads suck, but whatever lol. I've been out of the game for some time and I am looking for a pair of 12s that can sound just beautiful but get down when I need it to. The ID Maxs are a bit more expensive but they have awesome reviews. The Qs I know can get loud, at least the older ones, and I always read they sound good but what in comparison? I'm looking to use 2kw let me know what you think!

  19. I currently have an RE SX15D4 in a 4 cu ft net box tuned to 31 hertz running off an SAZ-1500D. I want cleaner bass with equivalent output or more. So I was thinking about just buying an XCON 15 Dual 2 and putting it in my current box. Then while i was looking at the classifieds forum i found 2 XCON dual 1 15's for sale for just over $500. Basically $100 more than buying 1 new XCON. If i bought them i'd put them in a sealled box 6 cu ft net. So i guess i'm asking what would you do? And i'm also wondering about power. I don't want to get a bigger amp than i have now. So if you don't think the 1500 will be up to the task of 2 15" XCON's @1 ohm sealed let me know. I'm not lo…

I need help troubleshooting a new speaker install/upgrade. I just installed Boston Acoustics in front and rear. SR60 6.5 components in front and SR95 6x9 in the rear deck of a 96 Impala SS. The problem is now the rear sounds much flatter and the front is way too bright up high. These were upgrades to 12 year old Boston 6.5s and Pioneer 6x9s. Old speakers sounded fine but I wanted better sound and a bit louder. Old speakers were 50w rms and new are 80-85 rms. Amp is 100x4 rms and I also have on a seperate 450w mono amp a 300W Pioneer 10' shallow sub in a sealed box inside the cabin, not the trunk. Location of the 6.5 components up front are, woofer mounted in the do…

Greetings, i'm looking at purchasing some new mids/high speakers for my car. i was going to go find the AA componets or get the Infinity Kappa coax's. my question is if i get the kappa's will i regret not buying the AA's? i plan to get 2 pairs of 6x9's (threeway), 1 pair of 3.5's. now my next question is would it be recommended to get the kappas as well as the componets? like maybe get a set of componets for the doors? also are the kicker KS's better quality then the kappa's?

  22. Started by DaberAudio,

Hey guys - I wanted to take just a second and say hi and tell you a little about me, Daber Audio, and planned future products. I'm an audio junkie, drag racing fan, father of two, married, guy from central Illinois. When I was a little kid (probably about two years old) my dad had an Pionner/Technics/Marantz home stereo set up. I loved to sit and watch the equalizer (digital display) and thought the lines moving up and down were stick people dancing. I then figured out there was a correloation between what sound was being played and which "stick people" danced. So there it began, the obsession. As I got a little older I started getting in to home hifi, then a natural prog…

  23. Started by CrownVic,

I have a couple questions. First would be: I have an 86 Ford Crown Vic that i just installed some 5 1/4 coaxials in the front kick panels, and i was wondering if i added a baffle or some type of backstop if it would increase the volume a little bit. I dare not list the speakers in question because of the shittyness. They are just mounted in the factory location under the door panel cover. Second question would be if i ran 2 sets of four ohm speakers to my two channel amp what ohm load would the amplifier see. Amp is a RF punch 450.2 powering 2 sets of coaxials. I ran the left channels both positives to the amps positive speaker output and the same with the negative…

  24. I just got my new ssa xcon today in the mail. i hooked it up in a 3.6 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 32hz. It is only its test box until I can afford a proper enclosure. Its getting 1600rms from a hif\onics brutus amp, and this thing sounds great and goes loud, I will post up pictures and videos tomorrow once I fine tune it to the best it can get under the circumstances. I can't wait until I can get a new amp and enclosure this thing will rock. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
