Going with a CDA-9887. What is the lowest the C1 can go safely?

I want to do a low power build but have good Sq. Which would be the better driver?

I've been trying to figure out what to do with my 18 XXX. I finally decided on a 4-5 cube sealed box, depending on how large an area I can fit in my trunk, but the 4-5 cubes are the definite range. I was going to go just sealed, but love low end & was wondering if I could do passive radiators w/ the xxx. Corey don't kill me for makin this post, just figured it'd help! By the way, if any of you end up not liking me one bit, blame Corey A., he's the one who told me to come here. Anyway, thanks for any help or any insight in this idea.

Does anyone know the voice coil dementons and if possible what I'd need to run a nsv3 coil and the differences thank you

Im planning on doing a very budget build for my santa fe. Space isnt a issue for what i want i have plenty of room. Im looking to do a build with 2 Hds200 15's and will have about 2500watts on tap & before rise & voltage drop(dont feed me the go to a different sub stuff please). I looked at the SQ website but i just gives a vague information on the enclosure sizes for the subs, also the port info is given in slot ports. Im just trying to gather info for these subs and determine a good size enclosure for them as well as the port(in aeros). well, being who I am (very inquisitive by nature) I constantly find myself loomking at audio equipment, and as such, I always wonder to myself, hey that would be neat to have etc... So, I keep looking at 15 inch subs lately for some reason, and more specifically, at the RE SEX15D4, has anyone on here have experience with it? I just may, and a big "may" be able to convince the wife to let me buy one..... maybe... It'll be powered by a JBL GTO 601.1 amp. hey guys just joined up here...i have around 3k posts over at caraudio.com forums right now i have a single 18" Fi Q in 6.5 cubes ported on 1000 watts in my jeep grand cherokee ive heard tons of things about the MJ18.. i am trying really hard to decided if i should change it to 2 MJ 18's sealed in around 7 cubes with 400 watts a piece... from everyones experience what do you think will i gain any output? i am gaining cone area but loosing RMS/sub i am also going from ported to sealed because i am not sure if i could fit the MJ's ported. let me know thanks guys

I hooked up my type r 10 and the it didn't get nearly as loud or play as filling of bass as the Icon did, the icon was only at half gains on the rf p1000bd, it almost seemed like the Type R was really hollow or something. I played Speaker Boxx by Outkast and the type r hit pretty well but it just didn't sound that great, (also, the type r is dual 4 ohm so I hooked it up at 2 ohms and turned the gain all the way up, the birthsheet says 825rms @ 2 ohms) then i swappedthe Icon back in and turned the amp down to about 3/4 of the way up (700 watts if the amp was not underrated, birthsheet says 1310 rms @ 1 ohm) and I put Speaker Boxx back in and I couldn't handle it, it was …

Whats are the common reasons for spiders to rip lose from the cone?

Hey everyone, I should be getting my 12" D2 soon and I wanted to ask a couple questions about boxes and powering it. I'm looking for more SQ than SPL, clean loud low-end thump is what im looking for Now as far as power is concerned I can push it with either a JBL1200.1 or a Orion 2500. I was thinking 2^3 sealed pumping it with the Orion OR 3^3 ported tuned to ~25hz pushed by the JBL. Anyone have any opinions on the subject? I have a feeling I'm gonna need to buy another D2 to get what I'm looking for. TIA

Want to get some opinions. Will you get a 15" or 18" sub? Let's go with the Xcon. And, why you would choose one over the other?

like the topic says i need some recommendations for a new box for my maw15. right now i have it sealed at 2.2cuft. after displacements, and while it sounds nice, just dissapointed with the output. was hoping to like it sealed as i like the flatter response of sealed boxes little more than ported, but after awhile of listening to it i'm starting to find myself turning off the radio cause i'm a little pissed:( hu settings are fine, amps fine but it's the response i'm getting that's letting me down. problem i'm getting into is around 90% of songs on any given cd (rap/hip-hop) i put in has like no response at all, then others will just slam. don't get it, same cd's will play …

So what I'm looking for is some clean, tight, bass to add to my current setup. Loudness is not really what I'm going for, I don't want the sub to overpower the rest of my system. I currently have a 4CH JL amp feeding 60W (i think) to some 6.5 mb quarts. Now I'd like fill out the bottom end. When I put in a sub I'd like to run a hpf on my components so that they don't have to play the lower freqs (is this right?). Also, space is a concern. 7" dayton vs. 6.5" AA poly midbass i was reading some posts and it seems like many people have tried the AA and i was wondering if anybody has used both and could give a comparison. i am looking for something to run as dedicated midbass in a 3way frontstage. both would be run off a PPI DCX600.4 so 75watts to each side. the will be used with 4" focal polyglass comps.

i'm about to get a pair of 18's and i only want to run them sealed in the smallest ideal box i can have them in...they are going in a 92 cadillac eldorado with a pg amp...if anyone here can help me out with the best per chamber volume and total box net that would be much appreciated....thanks and im glad i joined this site.

Currently have a 12" ICON but when getting ready to build a ported enclosure for it, the sub suffered its fate. So Im looking for a new sub to replace it. I had a custom box designed for it with 1.75cuft at 32hz. If I can still use that it would be great. Looking to power the next sub with either an Audioque 1200d or Crescendo 1500. The DSS Ethos lools great but it seems like the amps above would under power them. I loved my ICON but not sure I want to wait 1.5 months again. Suggestions would be great. Thanks!

So I currently have Kicker CVXs upgraded from some MTX Subwoofers that used to have 400RMS. None the less I feel like I don't have the 1000 watts that I should and most people are telling me it's my box. My box is 1.8 cubes and that's for both subwoofers. Kicker barely fits and I was looking as the SA-10 requires .5, so surely giving it .9 each would make it sound REALLY good? It's a sealed box and I'm just trying to destroy my truck essentially. I've got the BRZ1200.1 amp and I hope that these subwoofers will do well in my single cab. I couldn't find the frequency response on these though....if anyone knows can they share it with me? I'm sure all of us has heard the emphasized S sound. The high-hat that makes you blink every time you hear it. I have always heard that tweeters tend to be personal taste and vary person to person but man is it hard for me to listen to a blaring titanium or aluminum dome tweeter for a extended period of time. I'm looking for some supplementary highs that are "smooth" so to speak. I have been very impressed with silk dome tweeters but i'm looking for other suggestions. They can't be like 25 watts rms too.
