Was just wondering which of these would be louder. Either powered by a SAE-1200D. 2 JL Audio W3v3 13.5 subs, each in 1.75 cubes sealed or 2 JL Audio W7 10 inch subs in a Pound That Sound: Kerf Flared Slot Port Enclosure

Hi all! My first post and got hip to this site from a fellow car club member here in Phoenix, AZ. My question is pretty basic and applies to my 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS. Here it goes: *cut and paste* * Mids & tweets in the stock location or mids in stock location and tweeter higher up? * Coaxials vs. Seperates? Advantages/disadvantages? * Rears: 6 x 9 in stock location or ??? <--I'm thinking medium grade just for fill in hopes of saving money and focusing it towards the fronts. * Front mid range size. 6.5 seems to be the favorite but can we go bigger? Perhaps 8"? Anybody do that? My expectations are easy. Clarity that won't break the bank. Ho…

I'm going to be getting a 12 inch Fi-Q sub, and im thinking of going with Audioque 1200D amp. the sub can take 1000w rms and the amp hits about 1200w rms. the 1200 rms is at 1 ohm and i'm curious if i should get the dual 1 or dual 2 ohm version of the Fi-q. i dont really know alot about this stuff so i just need help with what i should get. links to sub and amp sub: https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/...view.shopscript amp: http://www.audioque.com/aq/AQamps.htm any help on what i should get or how i should set it up would be greatly appreciated. thanks! alex

In our roto-xmas draw names, I drew my sis and bro-in-law. We cap our spending at $100, but I will break it a bit if logical. They have a 20 Sea Ray runabout and are putting a stereo in it before summer. I have an old Pioneer amp that is about 90x2 at 2ohm that I don't want and will give them, but would like to buy a subwoofer to go with it. Being it is a 2chn, DVC would be great. Since it won't have tons of power a fairly effecient driver would be great, space is fairly minimal so something that works well in a small ported box would be ideal. What would you guys do?

Hello everyone, 2 Weeks ago i received my eagerly awaited mj18m sub from mach5. Now I've been thinking about the box design for quite some time now and had initially decided to go with a sealed box because I don't want the sub to take up a lot of space. But after modeling the results with winisd I noticed that with a fairly small (115 liters) ported box tuned to 28 hz I get a much higher output obviously, but also a pretty good frequency curve. So now I'm contemplating if I should go with a small ported box instead of going sealed. But since the recommended ported enclosure for the mj18m is 142 liters I wonder if going that small is smart. I want the sub to sound as go…

O.k. I got some money coming in soon. And I was wondering, Which would be better. 2 Maw-15's or something from Fi that would be better. So I was either going to get 2 Maw-15's or maybe just one Fi Q 15" or a Fi Bl 15".... Im staying under 300.00 for the sub... Well maybe a little over if I decide to incorporate some of the options with the Fi. If I get the Q or the BL which options should I get for them. Mind you this is just for Daily use. Thanks in advance. ~MadroX

Hello everyone, i just had a few quick questions. My friend recently bought 2 kicker comp. vr series 12" subs i believe they were, and hes running them off of a 600 watt amp, i dont know the name of it tho or the specific stats. His car sounds lovely from the inside and outside. I keep telling everyone about stereointegrity and to buy their subs but none of my friends listen to me... they all think im dumb because i dont have one yet(due to lack of funds), and so they dont believe me when i tell them what it can really do and they think im just bullsh*tting. i want to show them and make them jelous. (thats not a main priority of mine to getting this sub, but it would …

well got my subs today from the new years sale.one of the boxes was beat up pretty bad but the sub seems fine.Build quality and looks of sub seem very nice.BUT wow what a SOFT suspension.i hope these subs can handle 600 watts each,i know they are rated at 500 but i saw mark post that he'd seen people run 700 on'em with no problems. definitly will go with marks box and port size and lenght suggestions.hopefully he'll answer that for me in this thread.anyway,i look forward to installing my whole setup this coming week, temps forecasted for mid 60s.trying to figure out how to post pics of progress.

Hey guys, so my girlfriends brother has a trans am and is trying to find a sub to go in it. the problem is he doesn't want to lose the t-top space in the back which means no box for a sub. In his car there is a board that seals off the hole where the sub is sitting. When the trunk is shut, it's sealed off. Anyways my question is what's a good sub to use for a set up like this? (10in under $200) (not his trunk, just pic for reference) Thank you.

I hooked up my type r 10 and the it didn't get nearly as loud or play as filling of bass as the Icon did, the icon was only at half gains on the rf p1000bd, it almost seemed like the Type R was really hollow or something. I played Speaker Boxx by Outkast and the type r hit pretty well but it just didn't sound that great, (also, the type r is dual 4 ohm so I hooked it up at 2 ohms and turned the gain all the way up, the birthsheet says 825rms @ 2 ohms) then i swappedthe Icon back in and turned the amp down to about 3/4 of the way up (700 watts if the amp was not underrated, birthsheet says 1310 rms @ 1 ohm) and I put Speaker Boxx back in and I couldn't handle it, it was …

is there such a thing as 4" or 4x6 drivers that can handle midbass or are these things just not meant to play it? If so who makes one?

I'm considering purchasing a 12" Icon. I'm currently running two 12" Infinity subs with a Kenwood amp (KAC-9105d 900w rms x 2ohms) and need to know if it has enough power to make this Icon sound decent? I want to upgrade amplifiers but don't have the money for everything right now. I would run this single Icon in a sealed enclosure (I'm not a big fan of "boomy" ported enclosures) and would like for it to hit hard on bass drums, accurately reproduce bass guitar, and respond well to industrial and electronic dance music *I know, I'm asking for the moon* the occasional drum and bass ect. . . all being able to be heard going down the freeway with all the windows open. So,…

I currently have 2 kicker cvx 12" subs in a crappy prefab box and I'm looking to get louder and lower (move a lot more air). I cannot decide between getting a custom box for my subs tuned to the low 30s, or getting 2 type r 15's, or one nightshade 15. which would give me the best results? the type r subs would have to be in a prefab box

I only have a 4" hole in my door and i need to find a set of mids that will clear. Does anyone know how big the diameter of the magnet+ terminal is? My rainbow mid was exactly 4" and it barely cleared and my AA poly mids didnt clear at all. Heard good things about them and want to give them a try.

This Pioneer Premier TS-W5102SPL, http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Pro...-W5102SPL?tab=B anyone ever seen these in action or know their potential personally? It's specs are questionable which makes me wonder how loud they can get. I know they were used in the comp vehicle which did over 180db but that means nothing to me. They could have done that with any other high powered sub i'm sure. Anyways, it says rated at 2,500wrms\6000w peak, only required to be in a 2.0 cuft ported enclosure but only 11.5mm xmax... I'm looking for loud daily but do not know if this is in the right category for my needs.
