I am trying to understand out of phase vs in phase? Lets say you have 2 speakers, a left and a right. Can only the left speaker be out of phase, while the right speaker in in phase? Or if the speakers are out of phase, then both will be out of phase, and its not possible to have just one ?

I'm buying new speakers for front stage. I'm pretty set on getting alpines to match my power pack. I've been looking into the Type R 6.5" components but I was wondering if it's worth it to spend the extra money to get the Type X. I've heard good and bad about both so I was wondering if you guys had any personal experience with either one of them. Thanks guys

Currently own a Fi SSD 18" subwoofer, however I might be selling it. I'm wanting to upgrade to something with a little more SPL. Another 18" woofer since I already have a box that would be within specs for all 18"s I've looked at. I'll have about $350 to spend on a new one it if I do indeed get rid of the SSD. That's without shipping, I'll cover shipping to no matter. So after looking it seems my choices in my price range are: Fi BL 18" ($391.12 with shipping) SSA ICON 18" ($371 with shipping, free shipping through SSA) Sundown X-18" ($350 with shipping, though on pre order for now and would be a long wait, free shipping) Ascendant Audio Chaos 18" ($371.77 with ship…

Building a wall, and need input on sub(s). It's in a 1974 Mini, so not that much room, but have thrown out the back seats and the wall is in progress. I'm guessing maybe 12-14cu.ft. total airspace? Will check later. I have a 2 x 1000 W RMS @ 1 ohm OR 1 x 2000W RMS @ 2 ohm amp (Helix Dark Blue 1000.2). What's the best "ground pounder" option for my wall with that power and space? To explain what I like, I have two JL 10W7's in my daily driver, 9 cu.ft. @ 20hz, and love them to death! I want decent SQ aswell. I want it to go deep, only playing 50-60hz and down. Have (3) Morel Elate SW10's for 50-60's and up, which will go in a separate enclosure below the wall. RE XXX-18 a…

Okay first off how much does the 12" weigh? It is going into a sportscar so the individual is trying to minimize the weight. Is the SI 12" able to perform well with 600rms? Does anyone know the weight of the OV2, kv2, SX, lethal injection subs? If this is a really heavy sub does anyone know a company that makes light subs that have great sq 1st and get loud? How does this sub compare SQ wise with the ov2 (since it's not out yet lets say the kv2 ED audio), Incriminator audio lethal injection, SX RE audio? We also want to mimize the space taken in the car so we plan on using a small sealed box.

First post, but i do have more on ca.com. Just wanted to see if anyone could help me out over here. Well i just installed my soloX 10" into a new box today 2 cubes at 32hz and i am having some issues. It hits the lows real good now, which is why i changed the box, but when it hits a high note (such as the high note in young jeezy: hypnotize) it seems as though the sub is sucking in instead of hitting out, almost like the pos/neg is reversed. I have checked the wires 3 times and all is fine there. Also, when it is sucking in it makes a terrible slapping sound like the cone is bottoming out. What gets me is i didnt have any trouble out of it when it was in the last box ( 2.…

So I am a noob here but have done my best to gather all the facts for others to help me with my predicament. I recently pulled out my Boston Acoustics SPZ60's to install that I bought from my bro and found that one of the tweets and coaxial mounts were missing. We both looked around to no avail and now I'm left with buying new tweets and making a component style setup instead of the coax setup I wanted. I have access to Clio sound testing equipment and tested the mid. It operates between 100-2k hz. This leaves me believing I need a tweet that will get at least close to 2k or I will have a big hole in my front stage. My vital info: Tweets will be run off of channels 1+2 …

This is the beginning of a test build. It probably would have progressed further if the belt on my table saw wouldn't have taken a big dump on me. I will have to go to Springfield (hopefully tomorrow) and get one...soon. I still need to resin the curves, etc. It's a long way from being done. I was hoping to have it done by tomorrow afternoon, for a special guest. Oh well, in the meantime you can poke fun at my table-saw-frustration-creation. Here is to hoping that tomorrow is more productive!

Hey guys i was just wondering what you guys thought of the I.D.MAX-D4 or the I.D.MAX-CRD4? they seem like they are pretty good subs but im not really sure how they would be. I really like I.D., i have some 6.5 components up front and they are amazing. i have them running off of a sax 125.2. But i dont really know anything about their subs. Im in the market to upgrade my Sub. I have a dual 4 12" Alpine type-r running off a Saz 1000d. I really like the Sundown subs, and SSA subs, but want to get some opinions on the I.D. subs if anyone has any experience with them.

So I have a 2007 Honda Accord Coupe. I am looking to get a 12'' Lethal Injection and I am looking for a sub box. I was looking on the Fisher Custom site but that is out of my price range. I was hoping that this one I found on SonicElectronix would be good. If someone could please help me out it would be much appreciated. I will ask my other question here so I don't make an extra post. Like stated above I want to get a 12'' Lethal Injection and I was wondering what would be a good amplifier to get? I was looking at a Sundown Audio but I guess the prices were just raised? That or the 1000 watt was taken off of this website? If someone could help me out it would be much ap…

The title was supposed to say "I got specifics", but apparently that was too long, LOL. I know these are always awful, but I swear I've done my reading/searching and I'm not just saying "OMG U GUYS I WANNA SUB 2 POUND". I am, however, criminally indecisive so I might need a boost here. I drive a 2010 Honda Fit. If you've seen one, you know there ain't a lot of space back there. I have a 12" JL w3 in a PWK designed box (built it myself, woo) and a 2.2cu ported box takes up this much space: So space is kind of a premium here. There's maybe an extra inch of depth I have but that's it, so nothing that'd need a big box (which is why I'm sticking with a 12, I'd need to strangl…

So i was thinking of selling my 21 warden and goin with a new setup. I thought either 2 18s, 4 15s, or 6 12s but im thinkin 4 15s would be cheaper than the 12s and louder than the 2 18s. I have a 2003 trailblazer and i want to wall it at c pillar while keeping my back seats. I currently have a Crescendo bc2k wired to .5 ohm and i want 4 D4s so i can wire to 2 ohms when i get another bc2k. Id like to put 3k rms to all 4 when all set and done. The thing i need help with is deciding which subs would fit me best. I listen to rap/ hip hop mostly but also country and dance music too. I would want the tuning to be around 34hz. I have around $700 to play with but id go more if i …

Guys I know just enough to get into trouble and looking for some advise. I've got 2 Fi btl n2 15's that are going to be sealed off from the trunk with a blow thru in the rear deck. Each sub is going to be ran at 1ohm with a Rockford t1500-bdcp amp. I've got 4 sets of Rockford T3 6.5" components and plan on running one set on each channel of my Rockford t800-4bdcp. My question is this..what freq should I cut the subs off at..where should my components pick up at..and are my components enough? Will they be loud enough? Will they go low enough? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Not my thing, but my sister wants some output. Looking for a sub for her boat. Nothing magical to blend with, just a set of tbd comps and an amplifier. Have 350w @ 4ohms (or 175x2 @ 2ohms) on tap and up to a few cuft to put it in. Would prefer loud for playing hip-hop, but at least mildly musical as I won't build a box for a fart cannon as it would piss me off too much. This one will be ported. Budget, less is more but $200 tops. New, used, a pair, or unusual is all fine with me I'd love a Maw, but the coils don't work for the power we have Same problem with the SD's. At the moment, I am leaning towards a 12" JBL GTO for $50 but would love to kick it up a notch …

Looking to get some components for setup. Budget is about $400-$500 maybe a bit more if it'd be worth it. 2002 Malibu, want to make some kicks for em. 6.5" comps. I want to get the best sound quality possible. I don't want them to be harsh. I haven't personally heard any of these brands but i've read that Focals can be harsh. I want them to be laid back, detailed, have good midbass, Just have a great overall sound and be able to get loud to keep up with some xcon 12's. I have a few that i've looked into. So give me your thoughts and opinions and if you suggest any others in my price range. I'd be willing to spend a $100-few $100 more if i should. I'll most likely be runni…
