which of these two woofers will provide the best sq and the best spl? i want something that gets loud yet retains nice sq in a ported enclosure. i have an 03 civic and was going to have it front facing and have the seats down quite a bit but i dont know if that would be better than rear facing. i listen to mostly rap but occasionally rock. im going to power either one with an audioque 2200d. the rd will probably have the flat wind option so it will be able to handle the power. all opinions are welcome, thanks

I have about $300 budget. Thats maximum... Including me making a box. I was thinking 4 infinity refrence 8" subs... Or 2 10" obsidian audio subs. Or like one ssd 15... Idek if i could fit any of this in my truck where i want it. The back seat behind the drivers seat.. So i still need 2 seats in the back aswell. Its a toyota tundra access cab. Just got my new 2ohm dvc sub yesterday an threw it in my new box for 2 subs Immediately saw that new one flexed much more then other one. Pulled each out an tested them an here what I found.. Sub 1 has 2ohm at each coil Sub 2 has .6 at each coil I tested each sub in series by itself an got this.... Sub1 4ohm Sub2 1.6 ohm Sub 2 is bran new out the box to btw... any ideas?

I just got it from my uncle, it's an Orion 15", it says "The hott set-up" on the front, the sticker is pealed off the magnet so I have no idea how many watts it is or how many ohms the coil is, or even the model number. I'm not gonna try emailing Orion because the last time I did that, they sent me 7 PDFs that were all the wrong subwoofer, and then stopped replying to my emails. Anyone know anything about this subwoofer? I can post a pic if needed.

Currently have a 12" Ethos in a ported (aero-port) 1.75 cu ft enclosure. It's being powered by a Crescendo 1500.1. No complaints with the Ethos. I've just been considering downsizing on the box. First thought was to toss it in to a sealed setup, but then I might end up being disappointed from the output. Other thought was to consider moving towards either two 10's or 12's in a sealed setup. Looking at a few options, it seems like I can get down in the 1.0 cu ft range with using two 10's. Since the 10's would likely put me in to the desired box size, any recommendations on this? Would this potentially be a signaficant downgrade from the single Ethos? Curious to …

Yep, they're getting bigger. Keep in mind this is a prototype picture and the driver is subject to change still. We might keep the basket, and we are keeping and the motor at this point, but a few other cosmetic things are going to change. ...and I would post it but I can't attatch it, the image must be already hosted. Before anyone freaks out we are still going to make subwoofers but we cannot use the name "Magnum" anymore. A Corporation called Mitek owns the rights to the word "Magnum" in car audio, so we cannot use it. This last batch of 12's and 15's that was just made will be the last speakers with "Magnum" on them. hello. well iv narrowed my choices down to the ones above. i will have them running on a kicker zx1500.1, 4 gauge wireing, in a ext. cab ranger i want a little of both ( SQ and SPL) i dont want to spend over 325 max.

So my xcon has been getting hot lately only after 30 mins of play on 1100 rms. Voltage stays anywhere from 13-14 while its bumping. Gain isnt even halfway up and there isnt really any distortion. Anybody have experience with this or am i just paranoid? Thanks

I have been searching all forums and websites for wiring diagrams and color codes and information on switching from a stock 8" factory sub/amp to an aftermarket amp/sub. My hope is to upgrade from the small factory amp and 8" sub to possibly one 12 or two 10s. My first journey started with trying to find out what each color wire going into the factory subbox meant and then I started getting all the advice of what I had to use. I'm wondering if anyone has positive experience or success running or a two-way subwoofer for the task of LSQ. I know two-way subwoofer systems aren't popular, at least today, but with enough planning I don't see why someone couldn't take advantage of multiple drivers to split the task of subwoofer duties and make tremendous gains in output without investing in a power plant of amplifiers to drive a single woofer to frequencies it simply isn't efficient at. Putting it into practice, achieving low bass (lets say 45-80Hz) is fairly difficult to achieve with my equipment in my car. But getting sub-bass, 15-40Hz isn't much trouble for me. I have had my ascendant havoc 12 for about a month. Recently I decided that it was broken in enough to see what it could do. I set my gains again, this time with the dd-1, but when I turn the volume up a little it sounds like it is bottoming out. I have a t1500-1bdcp that's rated at 1900 Watts rms at 1 ohm. I thought for sure that the havoc would take that much power and not bottom out. Could the noise be something else? or is it really maxed out?

I'm in a real debate with myself here. The SDX sounds like a solid contender, but I'm getting out of the let's see how loud I can play my music and focus on a solid sound quality application. Not an all out SQ where I'm RTA'ing and fine tuning to a flat response, but something that will play reasonably high in the freq, and not drop off at 60hz naturally, and play relatively low, as I do listen to music that extends down to 30-25hz. I will be doing a sealed enclosure based on space saving alone. I have not bought an amp yet, as this will be the last thing i get after I purchase the sub.
