Hello everyone, I am hoping to get some resolve here. I have been searching all forums and websites for wiring diagrams and color codes and information on switching from a stock 8" factory sub/amp to an aftermarket amp/sub. My hope is to upgrade from the small factory amp and 8" sub to possibly one 12 or two 10s. My first journey started with trying to find out what each color wire going into the factory subbox meant and then I started getting all the advice of what I had to use. how does the SI D2 12" stack up vs the JL 12W7? i don't want JL as i am going for brands not in most retail stores, i want to know how this will compare SAME POWER ON BOTH. i have seen people post on other forums and they compare one to another but the power is differnt.

Well im looking for a new sub(s) and the two im looking at right now are a 12" BTL dual2 off 2300 watts or two Fi Q's off 1100 a piece i have around 3.5 cubes that i can still be comfortable in the truck I can go up to 6, but im trying to get something smaller so i have room i have around $400 to play with, I am basically wondering what would be my best alternative. I am fairly used to my tc-3000 in 3.5 cubes off 1000 watts, how would both of those compare in SQ and output? I hear really mixed things about the BTL how bad is the SQ? hello. well iv narrowed my choices down to the ones above. i will have them running on a kicker zx1500.1, 4 gauge wireing, in a ext. cab ranger i want a little of both ( SQ and SPL) i dont want to spend over 325 max.

I'm in a real debate with myself here. The SDX sounds like a solid contender, but I'm getting out of the let's see how loud I can play my music and focus on a solid sound quality application. Not an all out SQ where I'm RTA'ing and fine tuning to a flat response, but something that will play reasonably high in the freq, and not drop off at 60hz naturally, and play relatively low, as I do listen to music that extends down to 30-25hz. I will be doing a sealed enclosure based on space saving alone. I have not bought an amp yet, as this will be the last thing i get after I purchase the sub. Just got my new 2ohm dvc sub yesterday an threw it in my new box for 2 subs Immediately saw that new one flexed much more then other one. Pulled each out an tested them an here what I found.. Sub 1 has 2ohm at each coil Sub 2 has .6 at each coil I tested each sub in series by itself an got this.... Sub1 4ohm Sub2 1.6 ohm Sub 2 is bran new out the box to btw... any ideas?

i know everyone favors ported boxes but what will be the best choice four sealed 15's or four ported 12's? im not competing just for daily pounding?

Ok so I see a lot of conflicting answers regarding a small box if you plan on over powering your sub. Be believe in it, others say it's a lie. My question is if you're gonna over power a sub. What would be considered smaller ? I'm thinking about 2 15s. They call for 3-4 ft3 but I'm thinking of putting them in a 5 ft3 box. After displacement and port. Im looking into the sp4v2 and putting them on a hd8k. I know they are underrated. And the taramps is over the rms slightly. So I wa wondering if this will work out well. Yep, they're getting bigger. Keep in mind this is a prototype picture and the driver is subject to change still. We might keep the basket, and we are keeping and the motor at this point, but a few other cosmetic things are going to change. ...and I would post it but I can't attatch it, the image must be already hosted. I am needing to get the specs on th is sub. Unfortunately, I do not have much information about it. I know it is several years old and never been used. here are the pics i have of it. It also has a sticker on the side of it that says XS01048. I cannot find this particular sub on their list of subs on their website. I posted something similar to this a few years back and got nothing but off topic responses. I would really like to find out any info on this sub you guys might know. Im getting a new system soon and i was trying to decided between the dc level 4 and the hdc3, i heard a couple saying that the Xl's are more comparable to AQ's, and i also heard many saying the dc's sound a lot better. My question is which will hit the lows better and sound better?

hey. im buying 2 Kickedr L7's (the all black ones. i think 2009...? idk) after school today. and im getting a great deal. ($200 for both) he said they were only used for 2 weeks. but u never kno. he still has the boxes. i dont have an amp to test them. but when i asked him if it was ok if i brought one to test them...he said it was fine. so im assuming hes not BSing me. i think $200 is a great deal. what do you guys think? also, i will either be getting a kicker 750.1 and use one sub. or a 1500.1 and use both. i dont have the money to updrage my alternator...or get an extra batt, any opinions on that? its going into a 1994 Toyo…

Currently have a 12" Ethos in a ported (aero-port) 1.75 cu ft enclosure. It's being powered by a Crescendo 1500.1. No complaints with the Ethos. I've just been considering downsizing on the box. First thought was to toss it in to a sealed setup, but then I might end up being disappointed from the output. Other thought was to consider moving towards either two 10's or 12's in a sealed setup. Looking at a few options, it seems like I can get down in the 1.0 cu ft range with using two 10's. Since the 10's would likely put me in to the desired box size, any recommendations on this? Would this potentially be a signaficant downgrade from the single Ethos? Curious to …

ok i have been reading back through several posts on this forum and others, and i have some questions regarding ssa subs. from what i read most people consider the icon to comparable to the fi ssd and i have seen people comparing the xcon to the q mostly a few have said its like a bl..is this pretty acurate? i was truly considering a 18 xcon but if its more toward a sq sub thats not really the way i want to go. But if its more like the bl i am more likely to order it. Still torn between a few different subs but keep coming back to thew xcon for some reason. thanks

Hey guys, I am maybe looking at doing a Diy component set using the Mli-65 Mach speakers. Right now I currently have 5 1/4inch Alpine type S speakers in Q-logic kickpanels becuase my car is a 94 cavalier which only supports 3 1/2 speakers, so I bought the kicks instead, With that being said I was wondering if there is any way I could make A wooden baffle so that I could mount 6.5inch mids in the kicks? Also how would the Mli-65's work in a Diy component set? I was thinking something like Wiring the Mli-65's directly to an amp, then from the mli-65's run a inline bass blocker to the tweeters do you think that will work okay or am I better off buying a inline crossover? I have had my ascendant havoc 12 for about a month. Recently I decided that it was broken in enough to see what it could do. I set my gains again, this time with the dd-1, but when I turn the volume up a little it sounds like it is bottoming out. I have a t1500-1bdcp that's rated at 1900 Watts rms at 1 ohm. I thought for sure that the havoc would take that much power and not bottom out. Could the noise be something else? or is it really maxed out?

I just went to kickers site to look up info on my cousins comps and their entire site has been redone and they have a new sub in their lineup, the solo classic. They claim it to be very musical in small sealed enclosures, and now im really curious if maybe kicker has finally made something halfway worthwhile... anyone know anything about them?
