Subwoofers / Speakers

is there such a thing as 4" or 4x6 drivers that can handle midbass or are these things just not meant to play it? If so who makes one?

Well, apparently i blew my sub this evening and i am very frustrated =/ If someone with any idea of what i can do to fix the sub id gladly appreciate your comments. I will soon be running Two SA-12s on a saz 1500d and i want to get new speakers. The ones i have in my car now are terrible, 1 is blown and the others are on the way out as well. They are 6 1/2 all around and im looking for opinions on reasonably good speakers i could pick up at best buy or something of that nature. I have seen some speakers that go for $200+ a pair and have heard of others that are half that that and do just as much.

just sold my 2 type r's(way too tired if seeing them EVERYWHERE). i need a new setup. I have a pg rsd1200.1 amp which runs a true 1200. i'm looking at a couple different subs in fi's line, but i'm totally open to new stuff. i want a setup that leans more towards spl. I listen to rap, but i dont just want sloppy loud. I drive an SUV so space is not a concern. dual 15's? dual 12's? or should i go with a single really powerful sub? (i would like to fill my trunk a lil bit. I like a nice display so i wouldnt mind even like 3 or 4 cheaper subs) Price range- 300-400 (400 being very most)

Well my friend was cleaning out his garage and was throwing a bunch of stuff out. He had this Eclipse sub in some hideous box and didn't want it anymore. So I just took the sub and left the box there. He had it connected in his car for about a week and it worked, but it had a tear in the rubber surround. I think while taking it out of the box I also broke one of the terminals. Is there anything I can do to save the sub? Will I have to get a recone? I'm not exactly sure when you need to recone a sub, I searched and found a ton of threads with people needing subs reconed but I don't when it's really needed. Does anybody have anything good or bad to say about Alpine type x components. What would be better for the money??

Posted this on Ca.com but wasn't getting to much helpful attention My right tweeter made an early exit. I replaced it with an Ifinity Reference I had laying around. Needless to say, the whole fronstage stinks. Looking to replace the tweeters with somewhat of an upgrade (if possible). Id say $50-$60 max would be the highest id like to spend on a pair of tweets that would pair well with the existing speakers. Someone mentioned the Blaupunkt Vc100's but I cannot find them anywhere. O.k. I got some money coming in soon. And I was wondering, Which would be better. 2 Maw-15's or something from Fi that would be better. So I was either going to get 2 Maw-15's or maybe just one Fi Q 15" or a Fi Bl 15".... Im staying under 300.00 for the sub... Well maybe a little over if I decide to incorporate some of the options with the Fi. If I get the Q or the BL which options should I get for them. Mind you this is just for Daily use. im lookin into 2 ES-15Dv.2 subs from them...getting a **** good deal too......will these hit nice....and are they as nice of subs as what everyone says? ....im only puttin 500 to each....but i want them louder than the 8's i had......which i will never purchase anything from that company or even send someone to them.

What's going on. I'm looking for some advice. I have been looking at Elemental Designs 6000s comp and 9.2 amp. Does anyone have any experience with them or have any advice they want to give to me about them cause I have seen mixed feelings between forums. Thanks for the help.

I recently acquired a 15 inch MTX Terminator, all I need is wiring and an amplifier but I don't know how strong of an amplifier I need because of how old the sub is. Can anyone help me out? I really don't know much about sub/amp combinations. A picture of it http://imgur.com/a/qeulw

Hello there. I`ve 2x PowerBass XA-3000D amps. And I`m really happy with them. Got a few questions though. I know they can be loaded down to 0.5ohm. Do they kick out any more power at this ohmage? And what is the power figure @ 14.4v?

So, lately Ive been asking a lot of questions about subs that I've been interested in. I've narrowed down the subs to just two choices 2 Sundown SA-12s or 2 Fi SSD 12s. After purchasing the subs I plan to build a ported enclosure and purchase an amp. I want loud subs with deep bass. Tell me which subs you would go with and why. Also if you'd have experience with either subs. Also would like to purchase an amp under 300$ that's 1200-2000 watts any suggestions. Thanks.

Does anyone make a recone that would work for a JL 15w6? It has a 2.5" VC on it... It's for a friends car stereo, he's got an all eclipse system with an XA-1000 amp (~500w RMS @ 2ohms) that will be powering a MAw15 in a ~3cf box tuned to 33hz. 14.5x2.5" slot port 24" long. Overall box dims will be 29x16x16. Should do quite nicely in his 99 civic coupe I'm kinda sad it's not for me though lol. Pics when we actually start building

Im about to buy 4 new subs, I have the DD M3a which says it puts out 2200 watts at 1 ohm. If I got 4 dcons, do you think they could handle this power? Or should I jump up to the 500-7000 watt speaker range? I heard the dcons are very efficent at 300 watts, I would be doubling their power. Im thinking I could do this if I turn my amp down so Im not giving them the full 2200 watts? Opinions?

Now everyone knows that LR posted his free box of the week on CA and it looks good to me but then again i dont know much about it, he does. is 3.2ft^3 big enough ? hes got it tuned to 32 and that seems so much easier when you have all of the cutout sizes laid out for you in that diagram. im thinking i might want the tuning more at say 29 but im not sure. i was going to go sealed for the easiness of the construction versus ported but im lookingat my options as of now. anyone care to comment?

Does anyone know of any nice 6.5" coaxials (preferably the size that can fit into the oversized OEM openings)...i've been lookin and thought i'd ask about any nice coaxials u guys had experience with...

I just got a new car recently a 2006 ford fusion. And I already have a aftermarket touch screen in it. I just want to put door speakers in the front and the back. But I got no idea what kind. In my Taurus I had mTX front speakers and they sounded pretty good. Any suggestions. Keep in mind I don't have much money do to the fact I got a kid on the way. So what are your guys opinion on good quality door speakers

i currently am running 2 12w7s in a sealed box and am not as satisfied with it like i was in the beginning, doesnt hit the lower end like i would like, but this may also be due to the type of box it is in. Should i make the trade for the 15 re xxx and $100, or just sell them for straight cash. opinions?

I'm at the point that I'm interested in replacing my Ascendant Audio 10" Assassin with either another 10" with something a little more powerful. I'm interested in the SPL subs that Loyd tested. Does anybody know when they will be for sale? If its going to be a long time, lets talk about the loudness difference between my 10" Assassin, and maybe a 12" MAW powered off 300watts. I've also been looking at tc's t1000 line, I like the looks of them, mechanically. I really would like something in either a 10 or 12 that moves alot of air with 300watts.

i have 300-400 to spent on subs, they will be going in the back seat of my convertible mustang so space is workable and i am looking for sq over spl. am i better off getting 1 ported sa 12 or 2 sealed 10's. or 1 12 xcon or 2 10 xcons?

Have about $400-$500 to spend soo.... Sundown X or Z v.3, Soundqubed HDC 3 or 4, OR JL 12 W6. can you guys tell me the difference between X and Z for sundown and HDC 3 and 4? does it make a difference for the more i pay? Difference between a 12 and 15? Also what would be a good amp to power any of those for the best price? I used to have a JL w7 12 til it blew out just sitting in the garage and sold my jl 1000.1 but don't want to pay that much again.
