Subwoofers / Speakers

I don't think I will be buying a new sub anytime in the relatively near future but I do want to upgrade eventually. I currently have a 10" type r and I love it but I wouldn't mind something a little louder. I care more about quality than loudness. The problem with my type r is that it can be hard hearing really low notes. I drive a 97 corolla at the moment. I was looking at the fi q but i'm not sure if my electrical system would be able to handle the 1000w rms. Maybe with a capacitor? I don't want anything that will take up all the space in the trunk so i'd like to stick with 1 sub. A 12" sub to go in sealed box is what I should be looking for right? I know a lot of you o…

Whats going on guys? Building a new box for my 2 12" L5's and i'm curious about the tuning i should go with. I will have a removable port in the center. The main port will be for SPL. What would be the optimal SPL tuning frequency for a Grand Prix? The box is in the trunk facing the back of the car. I was going to just go with 40hz, but thought i'd get some input from you guys. I have no idea what the resonant frequency of my car would be... maybe someone can venture a close guess. The port that will slide in is for SQ to change the tuning to around 29-30hz Thanks guys!

So, lately Ive been asking a lot of questions about subs that I've been interested in. I've narrowed down the subs to just two choices 2 Sundown SA-12s or 2 Fi SSD 12s. After purchasing the subs I plan to build a ported enclosure and purchase an amp. I want loud subs with deep bass. Tell me which subs you would go with and why. Also if you'd have experience with either subs. Also would like to purchase an amp under 300$ that's 1200-2000 watts any suggestions. Thanks.

Hey everyone, I should be getting my 12" D2 soon and I wanted to ask a couple questions about boxes and powering it. I'm looking for more SQ than SPL, clean loud low-end thump is what im looking for Now as far as power is concerned I can push it with either a JBL1200.1 or a Orion 2500. I was thinking 2^3 sealed pumping it with the Orion OR 3^3 ported tuned to ~25hz pushed by the JBL. Anyone have any opinions on the subject? I have a feeling I'm gonna need to buy another D2 to get what I'm looking for. TIA

I was looking at the FI BL 18 for the price but I am really wanting to try the Sound Splinter RL-P18, Plans are 2 18s in a wall, what does everyone think of the two (pros,cons,what you like about which sub) thanks for any input provided.

how much port area should you give a Mag 15? im thinkin about getting one to replace my 12w7.

So I an installing four I hope anyways E8's but magnet diameter and true mounting depth matter. I am putting these under the rear seat of a 2011 Titan king cab and am in the process of building the box the max. At this point I am actually settling on the E series due to the fact that the SA r so damn big. Now if these subs magnets are in fact to large what would be a viable 8 to use in the truck. Power wise right now is a Lil wonder 3 that says it makes 2600 at 1 ohm. But, I might also be looking at other options for amplification. Ok guys i know that in my previous threads i said i was going with the xcon 12 but dunds are a littke tighter than before so but i could still get the xcon but it would be a little longer of a wait so my question is on 1000 watts which would be louder in a 2.5cft box tuned to 33 hertz

Is it better to install the tweeters in the dash or somewhere else? For a component set of speakers.

i currently am running 2 12w7s in a sealed box and am not as satisfied with it like i was in the beginning, doesnt hit the lower end like i would like, but this may also be due to the type of box it is in. Should i make the trade for the 15 re xxx and $100, or just sell them for straight cash. opinions?

hey guys just joined up here...i have around 3k posts over at caraudio.com forums right now i have a single 18" Fi Q in 6.5 cubes ported on 1000 watts in my jeep grand cherokee ive heard tons of things about the MJ18.. i am trying really hard to decided if i should change it to 2 MJ 18's sealed in around 7 cubes with 400 watts a piece... from everyones experience what do you think will i gain any output? i am gaining cone area but loosing RMS/sub i am also going from ported to sealed because i am not sure if i could fit the MJ's ported. let me know thanks guys

Sup,I believe that this is my 1st posting here at SS.I didnt know that there was even a forum for Stereo Integrity but I'm glad to see there is one.First I like to say that the Magnum is a monster of a sub(I have the 'claw' basket),definitely one of a kind.If something were to happen to this driver I'll either get it fixed or just keep it b/c the basket IMHO is a classic.Props to Nick & the gang @ SI for well built product.As u can see by my sig.(pic in my other reply is 1.4cf) that I am presently running 1 Mag in a 1.0cf sealed box ,the output from this setup is truly amazing.Even though it sounds great sealed,I really the ported sound better.Now to the fun stuff,I …

I had a pair of infinity reference 12's I picked up for $50 about six months ago. The guy from the local car audio shop wanted to trade me for his old school 15 inch Cerwin Vega Stroker. I've owned one of these in the past and could never get over how freakin loud they get with so little power.

I already own a "brand spanking new" Zed Audio Kronos, pre-ordered a Stereo Integrity BM Mk V (I'm kind of limited in space). Im hoping some of you music wizards can help me with another system. I have a crew cab Silverado and I want a bad ass daily system. I don't want to take my back seats completely out, if I can help it I want an enclosure that I can slide if I needed to. I'm not trying to spend $$$$$$$ on a system. With that being said the amps that I can't seem to take my attention off of is the Saz3500 v2, fosgate t2500.1bdcp, and saz2500 v2, and I still have my saz3500 v1 that works perfect. My budget is $1000 for subs. I have about 7.8 cubes to work with. As far as the type of enclosure and tuning...it really dosent matter. I just want a ground pounder that digs deep and sound good
