Hello Now I have two kicker CVX's In a 4 ft box that is 1 foot at the bottom and 6 inches across at he top and is one foot tall. Now how do i find out what it is tuned at ? Also i keey hearing a Small Buzzing like vibration comming from the box. I Think it's the sub it self I just bought these subs and are new. This isnt the driver is it ? i mean i dont think it's coming from the capacitor or the amp that are screw down to the box. But it might be Or Do kicker subs just make this sound ? My CVR's did the same thing but it was the Driver side sub. Now the sound comes from the passanger side. I currently have my gain on my kicker 750.1 set so if you are looking at the su…

Would it be smart to attach some sort of gasket to make an airtight seal between the box and subwoofer? If so what would you use?

Stumbled upon this website and wow..... you could make some serious money on some of this junk. I like the looks of this; http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/256144054/Subwoofer.html and; http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/212748482/SPL_2_channel_Mosfet_Amplifier_with.html and; http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/224756014/WG65B_309_Speaker.html Idk there is so much crap on here..... many of them require buying a minimum of 50-500 products depending on what it is..... $1,000 bucks isn't so bad for 250 SETS of speakers. I know most of it is likely made in some shabby chinese / korean / whatever factory..... but a lot of things audio wise are anyway. Opinions? Be nice please,…

I have one 12" fi ssd in a 2.5 ft^3 box, tuned ~32 hz. Im planning on getting the sundown 1200d v.2 with another 12" ssd. I'm thinking about attaching the new sub to the front of the current one, (so the cones are facing eachother), granted they'd be out of phase and far enough apart so the surrounds dont make contact. Im wondering if this will produce the same or worse sound quality than I'd get with a regular 5.0 ft^3 box for the 2 subs. This way, I could save what little trunk space I have left without having to make a whole new box. Should look something like this:

Hey all, I'm looking at getting some new gear for a 2000 Honda Civic Coupe. In the past I've had a set up that included: MB Quart Components front and rear, Eclipse 15 subs (2) and Fosgate amps to power everything (1 360.6, and two 250.2). I'm beyond the big boomy base and mostly listen to metal/rock (NIN, Mastodon, Lamb of God, Slipknot) along with some lighter stuff (Echo and the Bunnymen, Morrissey, etc.). I'm basically looking for a compromise of playing loud and sounding really good (something that doesn't sound muddy or tinny). I've listened to some Alpine Type X's and thought they sounded great. I'm basically trying to find a convertible/"coax" component set …

I've got a 2000 Dodge Dakota Club Cab. I was wondering if anyone has any idea how much air space I can get under the rear seats? I don't have a problem ripping out the jack holder, storage tray, etc, but I really don't want to do any kind of modifications such as lifting the seats and such. I did find a Q-Logic enclosure for a single 8" sub that is .35 cubic feet. I know that MTX makes Thunderforms (or whatever they are called now) that hold 2 10's, but I'm having trouble finding what kind of airspace they run. These were just for references. If I can make it work I will build my own enclosure. The thing that worries me is finding a GOOD sub that will fit. I'm loo…

Hello All, I'm relatively new to this and i've begun to build up my first system in my 2008 Chevy Cobalt Coupe. I replaced the head unit with a Pioneer AVIC-F700BT, and the speakers with Infinity Reference series. I'm looking to add a subwoofer to the system but I have a constraint. I'm an avid mountain biker and I transport my bike in the trunk often (Bike rack won't fit over the spoiler). I either need a subwoofer that's easily removable, or something that fits tight against the side of the trunk (requiring a custom box?). My first choice is to get an integrated subwoofer/amplifier so I can easily remove it when I need the space (something like a Bazo…

Hi, I tried to search for the answer to this question, but couldn't really find what I needed. I have a Zapco C2K 9.0 2 Ohm version. 2 ch amp. I want to run 1 BTL 18' sub. so my question is should I get the dual 1 Ohm and run each coil to a separate channel , or dual 1 ohm coils in series to 2 ohm amp bridged as 1 channel, also what would be the pluses, minuses of running 2 1000w amps to the same sub on different coils? which will work better? sorry for the noob question. and thanks

So I just bought a RD 2200.1 on the pre-sale on **** and I wanted to get 2 Alpine type R 15's for it. I think I might be pushing it with these subs because the amp supposedly does 2800 rms @ 14.4 volts and does rated at 10.8 volts!!! Now I have seen some videos of 2 Type R 15's being pushed by a sundown 3K, Autotek MM 3000.1, and even an AB VFL 500.1. Do you guys think I will be o.k with these subs being pushed daily like this. I plan to tune the box to around 30 hz. Also what size box should I make?

Has anybody had any experience with the Hifonics OLM1612. I looking at them seen they recommend a high tunning frequency 40hz not really high but high for my taste, but has anybody had any experience with them at lower tunning 30-32hz..... and how did they perform on music, i listen to alot of slowed down music (chopped screwed) so really concerned on well they play low

Well I am not sure what I want here. The level 5 15" woofer can come with several different type of coils -- d.7 d1 d1.4 or d2. If I get d2 then I can wire it to 1 ohm, but then why not just get the d1? Or could I not wire that to 1ohm and it would be pushed to .5 ohms (which I would not prefer doing seeing as SAZ are unstable below .9 ohms I believe). Oh and I am using a SAZ-3500D on a single level 5 15"

So lately one of my friends insists that we "have a concert" every time were in my car because hes never really heard any good speaker setups and mines the best hes heard, but all I have are kicker ssmb6 midbass on ~55 watts and 3.5 coaxials in pods on the a pillars run off the HU. The sound impresses him but if its going to be a concert I want a louder more full sound. I dont know much about what component sets are good and I was hoping for some input as to what I should get, assuming a passive component set will be a decent improvement. SQ isnt the most important thing, I really just want a loud clear full sound. This is going in my honda accord and I only have abou…

I'm not 100% sure that I'll say all of this right, but I'm going to wing it. Let's just say you want to build a single reflex bandpass box, but you want to use a sub that isn't recommended for sealed enclosures. How do you find out how large to make the sealed part of the enclosure?

Not sure if this belongs somewhere else. . Okay, because i have a hugeee box for my sub that barely fits in my trunk of my crown vic. ya lol The sub faces upward toward the trunk. Whenever i turn up the volume my trunk piece flexes and moves like crazy. Although it doesn't sound as bad as those 200 watt shitty bass system that is just rattle. The previous owner of my car put some type of insulator in all of the cracks that would normally rattle in my car, not sure what he used. But the only thing that moves like crazy is the dam trunk hood thing itself. If i face the sub toward the license plate there would be about a minimum of 10" inches possibly more , between…
