Hey Nick, how well do you think the 15 will work IB? And what about power? I'm thinking about 300. My car is already setup to be run IB, so it's merely a matter of building a baffle. Has anyone ever run a Mag IB?

  2. these vids are terrible. if ure not into watching very bad speaker vids, then do not watch these please. it was just something to do. my camera is terrible ( operator error, thanks Raven ) it is NOT loud like this camera makes it seem... but considering it is an IB3 18 in a box off a $40 walmart surround sound in a box receiver, it's amazing. the sound is distorted and loud so turn your volume down! This one was supposed to show the drastic difference when I get into Listening Position #1 and 2 vs the center of the room...didn't work out that way, camera just distorts it all at 2:08 you can see the Walmart recveiver LOL then right after Bass I Love You actually gets t…

What do you guys think would be a better choice. 1 SSA Icon 10" ported, or, 1 SSA Icon 12" sealed?

  6. Trunk is small. Box can't be any taller than 12" so I'm limited to the 10" icon. I love deep bass, but SPL is going to be my number one concern. Ride is a 2005 mustang and I'm going for a DD setup, so I don't want a one note wonder. I'd plan on doing the recommended 1.35 cubes tuned on the lower range of 27-33hz. I'm hoping this would be a loud setup. Hopefully louder than a ED 13av.2 sealed in 1 cube (my previous setup). Height and width of box are 12x33 leaving depth to be whatever it needs to be for the optimal box.

I hooked up my type r 10 and the it didn't get nearly as loud or play as filling of bass as the Icon did, the icon was only at half gains on the rf p1000bd, it almost seemed like the Type R was really hollow or something. I played Speaker Boxx by Outkast and the type r hit pretty well but it just didn't sound that great, (also, the type r is dual 4 ohm so I hooked it up at 2 ohms and turned the gain all the way up, the birthsheet says 825rms @ 2 ohms) then i swappedthe Icon back in and turned the amp down to about 3/4 of the way up (700 watts if the amp was not underrated, birthsheet says 1310 rms @ 1 ohm) and I put Speaker Boxx back in and I couldn't handle it, it was …

Hey everyone I'm looking for a system for my 1995 Ford f-150 single cab pickup and I was looking to get a single 10 in icon sub for it but I'm still undecided on what I want I was looking for something that would be more than enough for it but I'm not sure on everything I will need for it and was wondering if you all had some suggestions that would make it loud but also sound good.

My 12" icon took some damage when I had my backpack in the trunk and it punctured a hole in the dust cap. The hole is small and I can't tell any auditory differences in the subs performance so is it worth repairing?

Hello all. Looking for input and opinions on which subwoofer would be the better choice, (ICON or DC LVL 3) for my scenario and for longevity. I have managed to destroy 2 Fosgate T1 15D2's in less then 2 years. Think it is time to find something of better quality or can handle my music/listening style better. Which consists of everything under the sun and usually very loud! So I need something that can handle whatever I throw at it. I don't compete and don't plan on it. Just enjoy my music... Thanks in advance and everyone have a great day!!! Quick run down of vehicle and system: 2001 VW Jetta 0g Power & Ground (from front to back) Big 3…

Hey guys, new to the forum. Curious if the Icon 15 will go back in production? I used to have an Icon 12, I had it in my shed during switching vehicles, unfortunately it ended up missing along with my whole shed during a hurricane lol I loved the sound of it. Since then Ive been running an old 2010 Fi SSD 12 I had sitting around, in a ported enclosure tuned to 32 hz. Im looking to do a little upgrade, was wondering if the 15 Icon will ever come back? Is it worth getting the Gcon 15 instead?

So i think the Icon may have run its course. Driving home a few weeks ago the sub just started making a weird noise. Every time the bass hits the sub kind of cuts out and makes a pretty harsh noise. So I finally had time to attempt to diagnose the problem. Took the sub out and inspected it and everything looked good though. No tinsels snapped, didnt appear to be a coil problem, and the sub moved in and out just fine(no coil rub). The sub looked practically brand new. Reinstalled the wiring and turned it back on and the problem still persists. Unfortunately, I didnt have a DMM to check the impedance on the coils so that will be next on the list. Anyone ever heard of a …

i have a little problem in choosing which sub and how many. right now my setup in a singer 250amp alternator 6 phase with a dc audio 3.5k and a single IA DR upgraded goodies 15d1 in a 3.27cubic box before sub displacement my question is which 1 10" weather it be the xcon or icon could handle the power from a dc audio 3.5k after break in time. and still have a little room to shine or im debating getting 2 10" or a single 12". my problem is idk what kind of power people are giving the subs before they get "toasty" and want to "send out smoke signals" thank you in advance for your help

So i plugged my Icon 10 D2 into WinIsd according to the specs on SSAs site. For some reason it says the best response is going to come from roughly .5 cu ft ported. The optimal suggested on the site is 1.5 cu ft. which is what i built and it sounds great. Of course i wanted to play with the port sizing and the cu ft a little bit and see if I can do better. Are the specs correctly listed? Do i need more than what the site lists to get the program to work correctly? I dont think i could even fit the sub in such a small box!

I see the recommending tuning is from 27-33hz. How do those number compare? Is 27hz going to loose a lot of top end compared to 33hz? Does tuning on the lower end of the range actually gain a noticeable amount of deep bass production>
