Subwoofers / Speakers

I just got a single cab 98 ford ranger and plan on doing a build soon with 2 12's or possibly 2 10's. Still need to go out and plan out the box. Before I do that though, I of course need to decide on the subwoofers. So far, my best bet for the money is 2 kicker compvt's. I'm looking for suggestions for a cheaper shallow mount that will still sound good. I've dealt with kicker before, and if I could avoid it for the same amount of money, I'd love to. I want to go low. Hopefully tuning to 34 or so. And if I have to, I'm completely willing to go with one 12. Best bass i've ever had was in the back of my 90 lumina. I had a knock off 15" spl sub in a sealed box. any one ever use a 12insh si mag claw? i have one that is a v1 with a v3 soft part recone. it has not seen power. i have a box allmostrdone. its 2 cubic feet net tune to 32 Hz. i have a audioque 1200d. s hity sealed box keeping my sub safe.lol

If a 12" needs 1.75 cubes and has a displacement of .12, does the same model 10" need 1.4 and has a displacement of .096? Do you multiply 1.75 & .12 by .2 because there is a 20% size increase from 10 to 12?

do they make magnet boots for them? I have yet to see one with it on it and I know the level2/3s have them.. unsure on 4s or 4xls. Also, to Rusty... do you sell just the motors? Interested in making some hybrid subs and it'll be my first time building them.

ok so here's the set up 2 12" fi bl's fully loaded off a aq2200d amp wired to 1ohms. 1 deka intimidator 9a31 in the back, and 1 Deka Intimidator 9A78DT under the hood . box will be 2.5 cubes per sub tuned to 32hz, dual chamber an double baffle. Precision Power PPI 356CS for the front stage off a alpine mrp-f300 amp bridged givin them 150watts each. i'll be gettin a HO alt(220amp, 110idle), big 3 upgrade to 0 gauge. now i've been told to get knukoncepts wires. but can somebody tell me ALL the wires that will be needed for this set up work. an links would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

I have a 15" sub in a box that is 4 cubes before port and sub. The box has 2 32" ports. I tried google and the search function on here but i couldn't find a way to figure out the tuning frequency of the box. Thanks for the help If any more information is needed please let me know.

I own a jbl bpx500.1 monoblock 1/2 channel amp. the amp can run bridged x1 780w at 4ohm, parallel x1 760w at 1 ohm, and 237w x2 at 4ohm. I have a dual 4ohm voice coil speaker that can provide 2 or 8ohm loads. can my amp support 2ohm x one channel?!?!?!?!?!? i cannot figure it out!

I know you guys will recommend going full size... I have an older Toyota Landcruiser FJ60 and want some good bass without sacrificing storage/dog toting ability. I am looking at one or two enclosures in the rear quarter panels (out of sight and paw proof). I was thinking 10" or 12" subs (likely two - one ea side). Powered by a single Alpine PDX-1.600 The JL 13.5" won't fit. Pioneer 1201's should, otherwise not sure what you guys would recommend getting. total depth (not counting what hte enclosure will use up is about 5.5". Thanks for helping me find something!

starting a A-pillar and kickpanel build. found these CDT 6.5's for kicks CDT's for kicks with mid level tweeter option CDT 6.5's for kicks with upgraded tweeter and then these for the A-pillars CDT comps for A-pillars what do ya think? or should i stick with the RE 6.5's for the kicks?

Hi guys I recently had recommendation for a 15 inch BL , but i was thinking about an xcon . Which is deeper and louder off a 1500d ,and any box and tuning suggestions. even open to other suggestions in brand or size.Set up is for a dodge durango.One other question I see alot of recommendations for Sundown amps are they clearly the best in performance and power, or is it the great customer service I hear about. hey guys, i normally dont put aftermarket door speakers in my car bc i have never had anything loud enough to need them lol, but i got an 18" fi q and its pretty loud. my door speakers are in the process of becoming blown lol, so im looking to upgrade...i dont really want to run an amp, would like to just do some speakers, preferably that will fit in the stock location. it will be in a 2003 ford focus zx3. the stock speakers are 6x8 and 3 inches deep. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx guys.

h im looking to run 4 of these subs maybe 2 unsure yet but im looking to get 2 3000 watt dc amps, will the level 5 18 be good for 3000 watts or is it not enough

Hi- I am going to add a little midbass to my ride (it doesn't really have any atm). I am going to buy 4 MLI-65 midbass woofers. I am going to make a sealed enclosure for all 4 for the rear deck. Any recommendations on how big this should be? Thanks.

I was just wondering what a good price was for these two of these, because i have seen a couple people trying to sell used ones for 250 each plus shipping and then i was offered two lvl3 for 350 shipped i was just wondering if i just got a good offer for the lvl3s or if the guys was overpricing the lvl4s thanks for all inputs

Its come the time to glass some kicks and a pillar pods for the truck. so far im leaning toward the 6.5" MB Quart Premium comps for the kicks and 4" Premium comps also. im open for suggestions i want matching sets so top and bottom looks even. tweeter does not have to match woofer though. just as long as both sets look the same Any opinions/ experience/ suggestions would be appreciated

At this juncture, I don't have a particular subwoofer in mind. I would just like to inquire whether I can build a ported enclosure larger than recommended to obtain a lower tuning. If so, what level of increase could potentially harm the driver? Thank you.
