Subwoofers / Speakers

I have a single cab 2008 Chevy Silverado with 2 Memphis 12's but have them in a tiny box. I've been looking for 10's that would suit my needs and have been thinking about 1 Fi SSD 10" but now might go ahead for 2 Mach5 Audio IXL 10's. Are these subs good?(Quality & Loudness). How big should each sub get tuned to 34 Hz? Thanks in advance!

Well after a lot of talking with Shizzz and screwing up not being able to fix the box in the trunk (and realizing I cant fit the box and the amp and the batts back there) I am thinking I am best to go to a single woofer. Now I was reading around and it looks like a single Fi BTL 15" can be used in a 3 cuft box. I am going to be throwing a SAX-3500D at a woofer by the way so I will be over-powering almost (I think) any woofer out there. But after talking to Shizzz some more he says that he recommends the level 5 12 at a minimal 2.5cuft box. I can do that seeing as the original box was about 5.5-6 cu ft. But wondering what would be best on the smaller box size -- either a B…

Just wanting to find out how much power it takes before the xl starts pulling away from the normal lvl4. Or is the xl louder right from the start?

just got a 12'' lvl 4. gonna put in a 2cuft box after PD in a removable port box @ 32 and 36 hz. i had a 12'' re se in a 1.6cu ft box before. was pushing 700 rms to the re, will be pushing twice that to the lvl 4. u guys think there will be a huge/ noticeable difference in spl?

Hi guys I recently had recommendation for a 15 inch BL , but i was thinking about an xcon . Which is deeper and louder off a 1500d ,and any box and tuning suggestions. even open to other suggestions in brand or size.Set up is for a dodge durango.One other question I see alot of recommendations for Sundown amps are they clearly the best in performance and power, or is it the great customer service I hear about. I am interested in buying a subwoofer or two for my new daily driver system. They will be powered by a US Amps AX3200de with all proper electrical requirements. I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe and box size is no concern to me. I also am installing some second skin damplifier this weekend along with an arc audio fd4150 and two pairs of eclipse sc8365s. I am looking for a decent sq sub that also has spl that will work fine for a daily driver, prob is gonna be in a slot ported box made to specs by me. Doesn't matter how many watts its gonna be, I'm gonna buy the sub then buy a amp to match the sub, looking for 300-400 range for price. iI had some idea's like a BTL possibly? Not too sure with the higher end of subs because I use to run alpine, kickers, diamond audio, and jl audio and time to switch it up to the bad boys. Also another question what is a good hz for daily?

I have a box for my fi btl 12" that is 2.7 cubic feet, and tunned at 34 hertz. . it sounds great best 12 i have evr heard. but i am looking to enetr a comp. soon and was wondering is there was any specs for making an spl box. or better yet some guide lines. like how many hertz should i tune to.

I'm looking to upgrade my current set up , which is 2-RF T110D4's sealed box under back seat. Want SQ and output. Going in a 99 silverado 3 door. I really don't want to get JL's , I'm trying to get something in my area that no one else has, but also sounds good and maybe out do the (JL's and Kicker, memphis) stuff. I e-mailed FI, but no response, don't want to deal with company who doesn't respond back to me. I will be buying rockford amps as soon as I know what subs I will be getting. Will be in ported box.

If a 12" needs 1.75 cubes and has a displacement of .12, does the same model 10" need 1.4 and has a displacement of .096? Do you multiply 1.75 & .12 by .2 because there is a 20% size increase from 10 to 12?

I own a jbl bpx500.1 monoblock 1/2 channel amp. the amp can run bridged x1 780w at 4ohm, parallel x1 760w at 1 ohm, and 237w x2 at 4ohm. I have a dual 4ohm voice coil speaker that can provide 2 or 8ohm loads. can my amp support 2ohm x one channel?!?!?!?!?!? i cannot figure it out!
