Ok, Here is an easy once. I am looking for a few good 10's that are dual 2 ohm that take will take some power (2500 watts piece) for burps. I had my heart set on the RE MT's since they were at a good price but after thinking about it I am not so sure I want 110 pounds in subs in my trunk. With the box that is roughly 150 pounds in my little Saturn trunk. Hmmm, there has to be something that can get me loud with a little less weight. Here is what I am looking at so far. Mind you these are just for burps, no daily driving with these bad boys. Oh yeah, this is for IASCA Stock 0-160 so it really does need to be 10's. Ok well one of the two 8's I have currently is having some mechanical issues so I have opted to switch brands all together to Sundown to match my amps i currently have. Right now it has two Atomic AP8's in it and the volume I'm working with is 1.8ish i think that was before displacement give or take a little. I can knock out the ports out and make them longer if need bit but it seems to be that the overall tuning should be roughly 35 hz from what i have been reading. I would run this through my bass box pro app but i dont have it loaded on any computers at the moment could someone give me an idea of what the length of the ports im working with should be? FYI the curre…

I have about $150(ish) to spend on a nice component set. They're gonna be going into a 2005 grand prix. I just wanna hear your guys opinions on what you guys would buy. I was looking at the bravox cs60k, if you have any experiences with these or any bravox in general let me know. If you need any more details then let me know.

hey guys, right now i got the box build already, it's a 11.2 cube box sealed. I was using a bunch of left over wood. one IXL 18 is going to go into it. I could add (3) 4 inch ports and make it a 10.7-ish cube box tuned to 16hz, or I could keep it sealed. it's going to get about 900rms. what should i do? I haven't ordered the sub yet. If I was to do sealed, i thought i'd go with the high Qt. I'm just afraid the 10.7 cubes is too small for ported, or will it be ok? since sealed would be in such a big box, wouldn't the lows be comparable to the ported box? say in the 15-20hz? or not really?

Hello all. Hope you`re all doing fine I strill haven`t had a chance to alter the Escort install. But I have been messing about with my vectras boot install. Check this out: See this weird box... 6th Order bandpass or simply a tunnel in a boot. This box is far better than any box I have ever made It plays low. It plays loud. It plays a very wide musical frequency with accuracy and is practically flat in it`s overall frequency response. O.K. The system specs. Vectra Sri - Boot System. 1x HMM Box- That`s what I`m calling it - After the ideas from a guy called Henry & Mazdawg & Me making the thing to see what happens. 1x SPLd S-1200d (1200wrms @ 1ohm) 2x Brand n…

i have a new project vehicle that already had some work put into it by previous owner and i am in need of new highs for it. it is a 97 civic 4-door. car came with jl tr 600 coax in the doors but they are pretty much shot. i havent payed much attention to car audio for the last couple years so i am pretty out of date with the latest equip. looking for something i can pretty much drop in without a ton of fab work (at least for the mids). looking to keep it between $100-150 but will go up to $200 if justifiable. need it to be well balanced musically. i listen to country, r&b, rock, hip-hop, talk radio......just depends on the mood i am in at the time. the equip i have …

I'm a total front stage noob. Literally. But, I'm really thinking of new things that I can do to my truck to improve its front stage. It doesn't particularly matter to me whether it is a component set or set of speakers that are to be run in an active setup. I happen to like airy and not harsh tweeters, a smooth midrange, and a strong midbass presence. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks, Brandon

Hey guys, first post. I just picked up a 2012 gmc. It needs a system. I want it to out do my four door integra (alpine type s components on Kicker 250.2, DD 1512 in pre fab ported box on 750 watts rms.) I'm thinking two SA 8 v.2, RE XXX6.5 components. I already have the head unit, Sony XAV-63. What do you guys think?

ok first off i have 2 maw 15's in a sealed box.. not the loudest setup but it sounds damn good! anyways i have a few things i have been thinking about trying.. 1) 2 external aero ports (tuned to 30hz)(size? amount?) the box is 5.7 cu ft (inside the wood) not sure o sub displacement.. and option 2) i just use one maw 15 and port it to 30 hz.. which would get the loudest? ok and just today my subs quit playing the beat of the music and had a really faint thump that kept going.. the speakers in my car were still fine. im thinking its something with my rca's.. also b4 this happened my sub would go into what i thought was protect mode. when i woud start my car for the first ti…

ok i was lookin at the atomic extinction level event 24 inch subs and it says that they have the cone area of 3 15 inch subs so if i bought four of them would that sound as though i had 12 15 inch subs. they are 2k rms so i would have them hooked up with that. astro van so plenty of room to utilize. or are they too big. would the cones flex and through off the linearety causing the cone to flex and unwated heat and distortion to set in. or would i just be better off to go with the four fully loaded btl 18's with around 3k rms per sub. i like rap so thats what will be played through them and pretty often. please give me some feedback after viewing this thread cause i need …

Hello everyone I've had the zcons for a few weeks now I got 2 18" zcons on a sundown 5000d my build log is in the build log forum if your interested but the zcons are pretty great so far I plan to mess with the amp a little today I haven't had much time to lately but as of right now these things are crazy loud but they are slightly peaky but that might be more to do with the box design than the subs here is a status I seen the other day after I gave some friends a demo

As you may know, I am starting my big build slowly, first buying the Raamat, deck, and 2 component speakers, and starting out with a semi loud subwoofer system that I might buy from my friend. He is trying to sell me these subs *These will come with no box 1st pair system 2 15" Kicker L7s 2 OHM EACH 2nd pair system 2 12" Kicker CompVRs 2 OHM EACH One belonged to my friend, the other was his brother's, idk which one belonged to who, but anyways what box specs should I go with and should it be ported, vented, or sealed? I kinda hate it if my trunk were to whang like a mofo or rattle like crazy, I like clean bass that can be heard from far distances. Another one of my frien…
