Subwoofers / Speakers

if i were to get 2 audioque 2200d amps and 2 audioque HDC3 12" subs(an amp per a sub) wired down to 1 ohms could the copper series handle it or would i have to buy the aluminum? this is for daily use! also on the audioque website it says 1000 watts rms 2000 watts peak for those subs. but also on there it says you can hook 1 2200d with one HDC3 sub. the amp puts out 2200 at 1 ohms so how would this not damage or blow the sub?

I fried the tinsels on my 2005 RE XXX 12D2. I don't know where to get a re-cone or what to do with it. I was going to get 2 BTL 15's and put them in a trunk on 5000W or whatever I could afford, I don't want to buy over 1 extra battery. Can you re-cone a 12 to an 18? Would an 18 on 1500-2000 W ported (through the seat) be plenty? It would save hella on everything, I bought it for $350 and used it for a year in a 1.7 cf3 box @ 37hz, it didn't drop but it had rich and neutral sound. I don't like the tinsels being exposed, they should have sewn them into the voice coil. Can they handle 2000W? 2500? 3000? My plan was to have atleast 3000W, and more cone area than 2 12's.

Just wondering what you guys think of the Hertz HSK 165.4 ( this is the 165.3 version though). I found a place here that I could get these for 350$. Are they worth it for a daily driver street beater / comp car? I know they are more for sq than spl (i am trying to pair them with a single 18" Fi BTL). I like to listen to more than just rap and bass cds so i think these should do well with the BTL (which is a monster). I have also noticed that the hertz website says these are only two way speakers but the magazine I have says the HSK 165.4's are 3 way...don't know, kind of confused. Is there much of a difference between the mach 5 15" ixl vs the ssa icon 15". I know the mach 5 seems to have a good sound quality and im not really to sure about the ssa icon. If anyone could give me a little more info about them like which one would get louder with a 1000 watt sundown audio amp. Thanks.

I'm looking for good sq for under $300 shipped, i have a sound stream reference 500sx will be in a 89 golf gti. Considering Audiopulse Epic, JLaudio 10w3, Image Dynamics IDQ10v3, or a Sound Splinter RL-i 10 will be runned @2ohm. I now have a 8" old school boston acoustics sub mounted in a bazooka, planing to build a sealed enclosure, what type of enclosure would be best suited for a hatchback.

hi guys, would just like to get inputs and possible if i could, get the best for my application. - sub will be in the trunk of a car. - fired towards the cabin through the center arm rest - max box would be 2 cubes, 1.5 cubes or smaller preferred - final impedance of 4 ohms - good for 1k watts of power in 4 ohms - SQ install but has a capability to massage me if i want to crank it up abit - can be tuned to a flat bass sound as much as possible thanks

I planned on buying a set of image dynamics horns. The ID Horns get so loud I do not know what to use to compliment them. Should I go a midrange and a midbass or just a midbass because the horns tackle such a large range of frequencies?

alright, the system in my fiances car is just a RF punch P2 in a ported box ( I built it a while ago, I think its something in the neighborhood of 2.5 ft^3 tuned to ~30HZ???) and it is powered by a RF 300.1 amp. the sub is a 4 ohm sub though, and the system is decent, but I am thinking of selling the P2 on ebay or something and get a different sub for around 60-70 bucks that delivers a 2 ohm load to get the most out of the amp. heres the 5 I am looking at now, and the prices. k im preparing to do a sound competition i had a custom box built for4 kicker l5's, but the company i ordered my subs from accidently sent me 2 l7's and 2 l5's will that mess up my system by running 2 of each i will b running 2 1000 watt amps both at 1 ohmso 2 subs to each

I have been looking around for a front end system now that I have my sub almost ordered. I know I need tweeters and other types of speakers to get this done. What do you guys recommend? I know there's 6 speakers total inside the car. My main questions are: 1) What brand and style of speakers 2) Is there a website I can look at for what size my speakers are? I currently have a 15 in mach 5 ixl with a sundown 1000 watt amp. I have about a 3.5 cubic foot box with a port. And i recieved my email from SSA and saw the 15" icon is on sale for $295 and was thinking about upgrading to it. I really like my mach 5 because it hits extremely hard just for having one sub, it sounds really good with all types of music but i mainly listen to rap, and I was wondering if you guys think I should do the upgrade. I havent heard an icon and was wondering if it would hit harder and if there would be more positives than to negatives if I would switch subs? Thanks.

Okay, so I got my 12' Pioneer subs a few weeks ago and I put them into an old box that I made for my other system a while back. After a few days of listening to music on my current setup, I noticed that my woofers were not hitting the lows AT ALL and I am a big fan of C&S Music so this was really disappointing for me. I ran all the parameters if the sub in bass box 6 and my recommended tuning frequency is like 21 Hz. Am I doing something wrong here? Also, Could anyone really help me out and just give me a quick rough draft of a suitable box design for this application. I have been looking on woofersetc for a couple of days now and just can't make up my mind on this. What I am planning on doing is putting some tweeters / midbrange speakers in the back of my suv. I want it to keep up with my BTL 18 when I have the back hatch open. Overall I want to spend around a thousand on everything. Everything that's needed is back there as far as power and space. I was really liking the image dynamic horns, but can't find a lot of technical info about them. I am thinking 4 - 6 midbass drivers and 4 tweeters. I recently read that if you were to have 2 speakers play the same frequency that they will cancel and would be about the same loudness if I were to play a single speaker. I have 2 sets of components in my front and am wondering if they would sound just as loud with a single set? People add more subwoofers and they get louder so I just don't understand why it makes a differnece.
