Subwoofers / Speakers

Hey guys, Just need some info on these babies (the 12" D2's) mainly. First off....price! Secondly, I would like to know how these monsters stack up against the L7's and the Fi BL subs. I'm stuck between getting the 12" L7, BL, or D2. Performance....The car that anything will be put in is a '03 ford taurus (seats do fold down). The subs that I need to compete with, here in my town, are two 12" L7's. Everyone thinks nothing can compare to them. Can I show them wrong with a couple MAG's?…

i loved how it performed off the rear channels of the tru 4.65 and was excited about the potential. i finally get around to giving it enough power (1000-1100w off US Amps 300X) and im just not that impressed with the lows. everything else plays like a dream and the sub/amp combo is insanely clean. its sitting in a 2cf right now and im wondering if polyfill will do the trick (and if so how much?) or if i should just make another box. i hear people favoring 2.5cf or so... what do you guys think? i wish i had a car to run it IB but i drive an xterra... ah well

So, I was going to upgrade my system soon. And I am going to get two 15" subs. So here are some of the ones I was looking at that were in my immediate price range. Cerwin Vega VMAX 15.4 Fi SSD15 Rockford Fosgate P3D415 Alpine SWR-1522D So out of those, which set would you all recommend the most? hey guys, right now i got the box build already, it's a 11.2 cube box sealed. I was using a bunch of left over wood. one IXL 18 is going to go into it. I could add (3) 4 inch ports and make it a 10.7-ish cube box tuned to 16hz, or I could keep it sealed. it's going to get about 900rms. what should i do? I haven't ordered the sub yet. If I was to do sealed, i thought i'd go with the high Qt. I'm just afraid the 10.7 cubes is too small for ported, or will it be ok? since sealed would be in such a big box, wouldn't the lows be comparable to the ported box? say in the 15-20hz? or not really?

I noticed Mach 5 Audio is now offering a MJ18-PR. Are there more sizes to come? I dig the box Mark made with a IXL 15 and the MJ18-PR. Dreaming out loud. I'd like to build a box with 3 IXL 10's firing up and 3 rear firing 10" PR's for my stang. Hint, hint, make a 10" PR. Keep the excellent products coming.

after about 8 months of playin my hifonics Goliath 1600 on a hifonics brutus 2000d, the spider has loosened out. no ripping it just came off clean. since the sub was put in the car at lower frequencies a smell was givin off smelling like the newness coming out. but it has been doin it since. sub is out waiting to repair. any theories on the smell?(not burning smell) and has this happened to anyone else with hifonics products?

Been doing a bunch of reading and looking for a smaller sub for my car. For the past three years or so, my RLp 15 handled the bass duties, and now I'm itching for a change. It's a great sub, but I want to step down to a 12 or a solid 10. So far I've looked into the Fi Q, Diyma 12, Hertz Hi Energy (I LOVE the Mille, but it's out of my budget, my cousin has a Mille 12...sweet sub), IDQ's, and the Rainbow Profi. So far I'm leaning towards the Hertz. Any other subs you guys have in mind that I can look into? I sort of regret selling my old Brahma 12 MKII. That was a nice sub.

Currently I have the Alpine Type R SPR-135 5.25" component set, the older model. They are on my Rockford P500-2. They keep up fine with my 18" on most songs, but do fall behind on bass crazy songs. So I was thinking of upgrading to better speakers, as I want more SQ, but still need to be able to keep up with my single SSD 18" on a SAX-1200D SPL wise. I was looking at some pro audio speakers on parts express. I notice there's a lot of setups were people run the 6" selenium woofers along with the ST350 super tweeter. Are these a better setup for SQ than what I have or are they purely SPL speakers ? If I went with those as my mains it would require some fabrication. …

Hello, I've been planning an in-car IB set up for about 3 months now, I finally ordered and received a Fi IB3 18 a little while back. It's going to be hard to get an 18.5" diameter in a trunk opening to the cabin... but I'm creative. I need a bunch of pics and vids for some inspiration and some ideas... please help! I can't decide which one would be a better choice. The BLs are supposed to be louder but the Icons have better lows. Decisions, decisions...

Box is small,.6-.75 and is sealed.I know that it won't give out the sort of output like a ported would,but I don't have room for a huge box.Looking for a mix of loud and good sound if that is possible.600rms @2ohm on hand. $150 price,give or take a few bucks.Thinking I can get a decent used one.

I have one JL 10w6v3 dvc 4 ohm and two JL 10w3v3 svc 4 ohm and I'm looking for a 1 ohm load if possible. Any ideas and/or things I should consider? Just FYI, the 10w6d4 is in its own H.O. enclosure and the 2 10w3v3 svc 4 ohm are in their own dual enclosure. Thanks in advance

Anyone have experience with the new Tang Band Neo 6x9 subs? My new truck will have 6x9 cutouts in the front doors and I'm looking at these for dedicated midbasses in a 3-way front setup matched up with Hybrid 4s and tweets. Power for all coming from a trio of Sundown 100.2s and filtering from a Altomobile Drive 30. I really want to do the Hybrid 8s in the doors but it doesn't look like that will possible without some heavy cutting on the door and door panel which I'm not willing to do this time around. If there are any other ideas, I'm open to those as well. 6x9 cutouts stock. Apparently about 3.5" of depth to work with, though in all honesty the guys on the Fronti…

I work at an electrical utility company and these go across 12700 volt feeder splices to carry over the ground. I just think tinsel leads every time i see em ...i know they are too big but it would be cool to see on a sub. though id share this with you.

I built a sealed box for my car already but i need to build a ported box for comps. Ive got 2 15'' d2s with 1200 watts rms My cars resonant frequency is about 35 from what ive read. Should i tune it to 35? or to what the subs are reccommended to? or ive heard to tune about 10-12 hz above my cars resonant freq.?

I'm wanting to know what would be the best interior speakers to swap out with my current stock ones. I have 3 different sets in my Lesabre. Dash is 4x6. Front door speaker size is 5 1/4 and the rear deck has 6x9s in it. What would anyone recommend me running? This way I don't have to do any cutting anywhere just yet. And also what kind of amp would be recommended to run these speakers off of? Appreciate everyones input and comments.

I have about $150(ish) to spend on a nice component set. They're gonna be going into a 2005 grand prix. I just wanna hear your guys opinions on what you guys would buy.
