Im wanting to build a bandpass box for a single Kicker Solox 10 it will be run off of a Crunch GP3000d. Or would I be better off putting it in a ported enclosure. Only using it to be loud bass race or street beat.

anyone have any experience with kicker cvx 10's? if so how did they peroform? what box and what amp did you use? im wanting to know cause im trying to trade my brother for his 2 10's. he has them in prefab sealed boxes ran off some pioneer 500wrms amp and they get pretty loud but he has a trans am hatchback. im thinking of trying them in my trunk car with a 3cf ported box tuned to 32hz with my re12.1 for power so around 500wrms each. any opinions welcomed.

99 Grand Marquis has no rear door speakers. Should I change out all the factory speakers with components or put comps in front doors and 4 6.5 or 6x9 coaxals in rear deck. Or put 4 6.5 comps in rear deck.

I was thinking of taking the subwoofer out of my room and putting it in my truck(temporarily) until I buy my stuff I want. It has an RCA' and positve and negative wire. I was thinking connect the power to my remote wire, the negative to the ground and RCA to RCA. Is this a really bad idea? or what? Thanks guys

I'm toying with a few change ides for my system. My sig is what I am running currently. My two 12's are in ~1cu ft boxes, sealed. Due to space constraints, I cannot go much above that, ported or sealed. I've always been a fan of sealed enclosures for their sound quality and ability to get low. However, I am also a spl (""SQL"" really) junkie, and need more volume. I'm looking at the RL-p 12, ICON 12, and Fi Q12. Goals: fit may car, sound great, get low, and get loud. Power will be through, either, my 1000x (which meters at ~600 rms/ch @2ohms with a 50Hz sine wave), or an equivilent US Amps (depending on another issue I am having). Givin this info, and t…

i swear i don't see the box specs on the 187's 15" s....................thinking i can easily give up 46"W X 13.5"H X 24" D (outside dimension)..........thinking aero ports, subs up , port back, 76' cougar. could do a little more with the Width measurement but other two are pretty firm. any specs or input about enclosure, or whatever would be great. Oh, perhaps a cost effective suggestion on amp also, seen the frree box give away by audible customs, kinda like just in time. this is for lil brothers cougar, if i can get price right.

I've been looking around seeing some people using some ridiculous amount of cheap subs to get a large amount of air displacement. What are some good 15" or 18" subs able to handle at least 250W to do this with? I have a project in mind.

is the only difference between components with a tweeter in the middle of them and components with a seperate woofer and tweeter the positioning or does the seperate woofer provide better quality. I would also like to know what company has good components for around $150. any input is appreciated.

OK... got a recone for my SPL-15 motor but I have some questions. They might seem dumb but i have never done a recone so i have to ask. 1. the Spiders on the recone are smaller than the original and do not sit in the same spider landing... it does seem to fit fine a couple landings down though..? this OK? 2. the coil from the recone is much short than the oginal as well...? 3. I didn't get any shims/spacers or whatever you want ot call them...? what should I use? pics are coming... When i ordered it, it was suppose to be run on a 4Kw @ 1ohm, now it will be on a 2000D @ 1ohm instead...

I'm planning to purchase a 3500D I also plan to purchase a new sub for it in the near future. I'd like to hear some opinions on which I should buy a fully loaded Fi BTL 15" or a DC LVL 5 15" I debated on a Nightshade 15 as well but they are not rated for this much power daily, maybe when the monster is released I'll switch over to a sundown sub. Thanks

Hi, I'm new here / don't post on forums much (too busy!), but I have a question... I am trying to find out if anyone makes a "Marine" woofer / subwoofer that is fairly efficient / would run reasonably well off a 100 watt (actual total RMS watts) amplifier. Very few manufacturers seem to give complete specs, and the few that do seem only to make very inefficient woofs. One 10" we looked at had a Mms of 186 grams and is ~ 85 dB sensitivity. Our target is 92-94 dB/2.00v/1meter. Other considerations: These are for a friend's pontoon boat. The "enclosures" available are approx. 2.5 cu. ft. A low end cutoff of 50 Hz would be plenty low. 10's might "do it", but a good efficient…

I'm currently in the process of upgrading my subwoofers. Currently I have two Diamond audio 15inch d3 in a ported prefab box powered by Mmats pro audio d2000.1, I have the Diamond audio d672 component sets in the front and diamond d6 coaxiles in the back powered by diamond audio d3 500.4 amplifier. I love the d3 subs but need something more powerful. I would like four 15s and I dont want to spend more then 350 per sub. I'm picking between ssa icons, fi q, ascendant audio havocs, or the incriminator audio death rows. I'm looking for the sub with the best LOUD SOUND QUALITY and really hit the low notes. I listen to a lot of rock, techno, a little rap, r&b, and classical…

Here is the deal, I have roughly about 6 cubic feet I can give for a box. Right now I have 2 audiopipe txx 15's that are rated at 1000rms in a 1.5ft sealed enclosure each ( I know the box is small). I want to run 2 15" subs ported in a 3.0ft box for each but is that enough space? I love low notes and spl pressure so im looking for a new setup. I've talked to Tod at digital designs and he said go with 1 DD 9518g in a 5ft box ported. THis is for a daily sub with good quality but i do want some pressure. Would it be The subwoofer will be in my trunk and not in a wall behind the seat. Another question, does anyone know the power rating on a fully loaded 18" btl? The DD9518g i…

I am looking for some 6.5 inch components, RIght now i have a set of Swiss Audio sak-650's in small sealed boxes and Pioneer Ts-A1702c which are also 6.5 inch but i built small boxes tuned to about 45 for those. I would like something better than this and i would put them in the ported box. I am using these at home so mounting stuff is not a problem. Also for me the pioneers are better. what would you recommend? Also price is kinda of an issue, so the cheaper the better. Thanks

I blew the tweets on my DLS components and its time for an upgrade. I just got the H701/C701 installed recently so now I have full control of crossovers, slopes, etc... However, I can't go 3 way because of budget constraints and the constraint of me not wanting to do fiberglass work in 100*+ weather. So what I'm looking for is a killer 2 way setup with a 6.5"+ speaker and a tweet (can do large format). Initial budget is/was $300 but it is flexible. As far as prior experience I have heard TMax's CA18 and LPG tweet (I think that's it) and love the mid. So I am considering a variation of that woofer. As far as tweets I haven't been impressed by really any since my first set …

Hey guys, I was wondering which one of these two subs would be better for me. It's either the 18" Xcon or the 18" Nightshade. Only $50 difference between the two right now. I'm going to get two. Probably get powered from a saz-3500d. If no deal on another amp comes around. Main goal is to do hair tricks and shake other vehicles at comps. Thanks.

The box will be between 4.6-5 ft^3 @ 30-33 hz, it will include 2-12" subwoofers (subs up, port in front) powered by a Sundown Saz-2000d. Big Three already done, battery upgrades coming soon and it will be going in the trunk of a Saturn Ion-2003. Which subs should I choose, price is not an option but listed in least expensive on up(if you suggest a sub thats not on the list thats fine, all input is greatly appreciated): SSA Icon $275.00 Sound Splinter RL-P $295.00 Incriminator Audio Death Row $319.00

I can't get a lot of info and no reviews for this pro audio speaker i guess because it's new... I currently have a sundown 100.4 and a set of ID components rated for 100wrms per side. I want to bridge my components to the sundown 100.4 but i'm sure it will kill them due to too much power.. Question is- If i purchase these pyle pro PNDW6 6.5s, where do i look at replacing my current crossover with a new one so i dont burn it up due to too much power. I looked on partsexpress but it looks like u have to finish building them, i'm looking for already built ones.

I know I normally hate people that do this, but I need some help and time is important. So to barge into forums and throw out some questions, here goes. I'm going to buy one Fi BTL 18" sub. I am hoping to eventually get two, but that may or may not happen. I do not want to spend more than $600 to amplify the one, or two of them. I have found some pretty cheap (and at the same time nice looking) amps from sound storm laboratories, on a trusted website (sonicelectronix). The first amp has a 3400 watt at 1 ohm power handling, and 2200 watt at 4 ohm power handling. (link: http://soundstormlab.com/main/620) The second amp has a 2550 watt at 1 ohm power handling, and 1800 wa…
