Subwoofers / Speakers

Hey im a little stuck between thse two setups. Fi BL 15 w/ cooling in a 3.5cf tuned to 32hz after dis. or 3 sa-8s in a 2.5 tuned to 35 hz after dis. What i want from it is low hard hitting bass. I want it to get loud but retain some sq. Loud>sq though. In terms of powering it. It will be the same amp whether i get the BL or the 8s. 1500 watts. What it will go in? 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Need any more details? Just ask. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone I am new to the forum and trying to do some research before I purchase a new sub. I am looking at getting a single 12 most likely. I am currently looking at the Fi ssd, DD 2500, Sundown sa-12, and the ssa gcon. Also what amp would you guys recommend for running one of these? Thanks in advance

I've narrowed my choices down to a few options and since this is a slow process I've had the luxury of changing my mind a dozen times. In the back of my Focus hatcback I'm planning a single 15 on what will most likely be a 3500-4000 watt Crescendo, Autotek (old school), Ampere, etc and it'll be in what is most likely a 3.7ish net tuned to mid/high 30s. Mostly rock and some rap for daily listening and decaf for demo. So there are a few subs that seem to fit my application but it's a tough call. Maybe all would be great but who knows. I tried my hand at designing my ported box for the MAW 10 that will fit behind the seat of my RCSB truck. I have decided to go to 1ft^3 as it recomended to keep things comfrotable. According to my figures using the formula on JL Audio site I reached these figures. Port is a piece of 4" PVC. Box @ 1ft^3 28" port 33.08 Hz 27" port 33.63 Hz 26"=34.20 Hz 25"=34.81 Hz 24"=35.46 Hz Is this right and which one would should I go with for my purposes as a daily driver? And also what should I use as the displacement for the driver? Thanks for yalls help in advance, Aaron

I've decided that my days of trying to rattle windows and shake off mirrors are over, plus I get tired of having to take the box out whenever I need the room. Now all I'm wanting is a little bottom end to my music. What I've been looking at is some of the cheaper, smaller subs on Parts Express. I'm trying to figure out if it would be better to try and fit a single sub up front somewhere (under the seat, etc) or do multiple subs in the back in the spare tire well? The only thing that concerns me about subs in the spare tire well is that since they are so small and so far back, there won't be much output all the way up front (maybe this thinking is wrong ). I'm looking at getting back in to car audio scene again. I haven't been up to date with it. So I have all my stuff picked out and i'm not sure what comps I wanna go with. They will be powered by a Sundown SAX125.2 or my Kicker ZX350.2. I currently have the Kicker. But id rather keep the amps to the same brand, as my sub amps will be the Sundown SAZ-1500D. For the price of the comps $400, but if they are worth it $500 MAX. They must be a 6.5in comp set.

Hello everyone, I was using the search button, but I didn't come up with a solid answer. I'm hoping someone here can help me out. I'm looking for the recommend box size for 1 orphan sealed. I've read from other post that said the orphan are about the same as the SA-8 and likes the sealed box size of .17^3ft. I've also read a post from mike, that It needed .2 to .5^3ft, but I'm not sure if it was the recommended for seal or port. I actually wanted to try out they type of boxes and see which one sounds better to me. I do want to to try to make a passive radiator box, which I believe these subs were intended for. Well, it was so nice out today, I decided I'd rip all my carpet out and get it ready for when my eDead arrives. Also did some work on the baffle. Here's some pics so you guys can get an idea. Here's 2 shots of the 15 mounted and hanging from the baffle. And here's one peering down through the 6x9 hole. Still waiting for it to get a little warmer so I can glass the baffle and finish it up. I'm also thinking about painting the top plate of the MAG a translucent green? What ya think?

Since April 23, I've been waiting for a sub box from Fox acoustics. It will be a 12" single sealed enclosure for a Dodge quad cab pickup. With a limit of $600, what would the recommendations be for quality sounding bass amp and sub?

Single cab 2003 tacoma. What i have to work with is length: 46 inches depth:11 inches height: 28 inches could go higher if need be and have bench seats so the sub would have to go in a bottom corner. Any help is much appreciated

Ok, she currently has some piece of SH** amp i have no idea what it is. running 2 12 sony xplods in a sealed box... it sounds like trash. She listens to alternative rock sometimesRnB stuff with bass when she needs it. She drives a pontiac grand am. I'm thinking of either going with some sundown 10s or 12s. I don't know if i should have the box ported or sealed or if i should get one ten or 1 12? an im sure 600 to 1000watt mono block amp would be plenty. Just tryin to get her a decent setup away from those xplods on complete trash amp. Any advice on something like this that i'd be looking for?

What are your guys thoughts on the ID Max 12'. What do you think of the company. and is the sub more for big bass or sound quality? Would 500 watts of JL be enough. Found it for $358 on http://www.cardomain.com/item/IDSIDMAX12V3D4. Is there any where cheaper?

I have a single 10" xcon in a box i built under the seat of my crewcab dodge pickup, powered by a black ice 1300w D block run at 1ohm. I get decent bass out of it, but if i try to crank it up some i get a rattling sound from the woofer cone area. This is not with all my gain and bass knobs/levels maxed out either. Maybe im expecting to much from a 10? Just seems odd my 1300w amp is maxing out an xcon when not even cranked at full tilt. Ill post a video tomorrow so yall can see. Im no audio expert and dont have an audio shop around that hasnt tried blowing smoke up my a**.

I've been looking between an XCON 15 or two Sa-12's. XCON being in a 3.5 tuned to 33hz and the Sa-12's in a 3.5 tuned to 35 hz. Either choice has the same power Saz-1500dv.2. I'm just having a tough time deciding. Both choices are around the same price. I just want an average daily system that gets very loud and sounds good doing it. It will be going in a trunk car though. Any input/personal experiences with either of the subs are greatly appreciated.

One of my Vifa's quit playing last night. Not blown, but was cutting in/out. Wiring is fine. I had this problem with one right out of the box. If you wiggle the speaker lead it'll come back on. I'm actually using this as an excuse to try a new set of tweets I run 2 AA poly mids per door and I'm very happy with them and the Vifa's seemed to compliment them well. I'm no audio snob obviously and not looking for THE best there is. I'd just like to try something a little brighter as I found the Vifa's to be rather laid back, which was fine for most music, but on most rock, the cymbals were very quiet/muted. right now i have a mag 15 in 3.7@27 hz box off 1000 rms and i'm getting a kicker zx1500.1.I was wondering if 2 15's getting 1500 rms in a sealed box(2.5 per driver) will be a lot louder? noticeably? just thinking about a new set up since i have a kicker zx1500.1 coming.But if i won't notice much difference i may just sell the kicker amp.

I got my Sundown SA-12D2 a couple of days ago. Unfornately I was too illl to installl it. Out of the box I was totally impressed with this driver considering how much it cost. The motor is too big to be rated at 600 rms. Anyway I swapped out my RE Audio SXX and dropped the SA in. The enclosure is 2^3 tuned at 32 hz. I found what I was looking for as far as sound quality. This driver has more of a musical quality to it than the SXX. It seemed like the SXX just wanted murder lows. This sub gives me the best of both worlds.
