Subwoofers / Speakers

I am looking at getting a new woofer for my car. I will be running 4000 watts when i redo my system and was wondering if the LVL 4 XL will hold up to this amount of power or will i definitely have to look at the LVL 5? It will be used mainly for daily use with occasional spl use.

so what kind of out put are people getting with the 15" IXL sub what kind of DB's are people getting? I have a MJ-18 (not a MJ-18M the old MJ-18) and I would like to try some thing new right now im doing about 140/143's I would like to be able to do 145 and but sound good to I just dont know if it would be louder so I'm just trying to get a idea of what people are doing..FYI I dont think 145's will be to hard b/c I have a civic hatch back O and im not asking "will it be louder" that's a newbe Q Im just curious as to what DB's you are getting

Of these, which would you prefer? Will be running 2 sets on the front of my DLS Ultimate A5. Wont be a ton of power so it will definately need to be efficient. I would like clear sound, good midbass, and definately as loud as possible. This is the rating of my amp, and with 2 comp sets each channel will be at 2 ohms, so around 50rms per speaker. 4 ohms: 85 watts x 2 chan. + 300 watts x 1 sub chan. 2 ohms: 100 watts x 2 chan. + 500 watts x 1 sub chan. hey aiight...so im a noob at all this sorry to say if any dissappointed or anything...but my cousin got me hella interested in this kinda stuff...like seriously he had one sub woofer like top of the line and it rocked my world! it literally vibrated my eyebrows and funny thing is...all of the good quality subs my friends speak of like: sony xplode, JL, JBL, anything like that was crap... let me tell you it was one 12" sub and and hit HARD and it was CLEAN! so...i was definitely wondering if anyone...ANYONE can help me out with some really good quality subs and amp for roughly eh $1,000.00 thanks for any help i've been looking into subs for the longest time...so any info w…

Im looking at some of the Audio Pulse (www.audiopulse.com) subwoofers and am just curious if anyone here has ever had one or knows somebody with one. Im just curious as to the quality and checking to see if there worth using or not? These are the ones im specifically looking at getting here.

well i finally fixed all the things on my truck that need to be fixed (exceptfor the a/c which is being a pain) and im finally about to get off of doctors leave from my surgery and ive found a new, much better paying job, now im planning on finally installing a system! I started yesterday by buying a Kenwood KDC-X493 head unit, it has pretty descent features and i plan on using it untill i finish everything else, now i need to get new speakers, im not sure if i would like to run ctive or passive yet since i dont know all the advantages/disadvantages of each, so if someone could poit that out or direct me to another post that would be great, but i plan on having some in my…

I just got home from a 16hr day at work. This iwas delivered. first impression, good build quality, heavier than expected 29lbs, sharp looking cone and very stiff. So needless to say this put a smile on my face. Now I just need some time to make a few enclosures and test it out. I am thinking one 1ft^3 sealed and the other 2ft^3 30sq in of port tuned to 32-34hz. I will either run it off my SAZ 3000d @ 4ohms or a PG Tantrum 1200.1 @ 4ohms. First let me say that I absolutely hate having to ask a this vs that question. That being said I want to get the best setup for my preferences and have limited experience. I have had many different setups but only two serious setups. Both included identical parts (same car I blew one sub switched to another.) For electrical I had the big 3 done in 0 gauge, a normal battery in the engine bay with 4 red tops in the back, 5 single farad capacitors on a bus line, a Alphasonic 8 volt line driver, two Earthquake D3 amps, and a 240amp alt. Was just curious about which of these would be louder. 2 IA 187 10s in 1.5 cubes each tuned to 33 - 34hz or 2 SSA dcon 12s in 1.75 cubes each tuned to 33 - 34hz? I have the dcon 12s already, but my gf likes the way they sound sealed and I'm thinking of giving them to her with the sealed box. I've personally never tried 10s before, so it would be something new to me. I could get the 2 187 10s for an awesome price as well.

Anybody know of any shops in Fort Wayne, or surrounding cities that does subwoofer repairs? I can't seem to find one.

i would never mix independance levels, ever. this guy i kno needed help with his system. so i looked at his wiring on his woofers and he had 2 of the same brand woofers and model but had a 4ohm svc and a 4ohm dvc hooked up. im just curious, wat would happen if you hooked up a 4ohm dvc sub and a 4ohm svc sub togther? or is there a way u can hook em up?

I'm tired of not having any beat at all so I'm getting a box tuned to 32hz and need some subs. I've heard type r's plenty of times and have two tens in my room. I have never heard the p3's buy have heard good things about them. How do they compare to the sound of the type r? I just need some beat right now and I don't wanna spend more than 130 on my subs. I know either would be a good buy but I can get the p3 for a bit cheaper. Anyway let me know whAt you guys think would be the better choice.

Im getting ready to buy my first subs, I cant decide on either a 15' or 18' fi bl (price doesnt matter) i want a sub that people can hear from a mile away lol...anyways which would hit harder for my needs?

now i've never built a box or system with inverted mounted subs, what does this do? does it affect anything other then theres less displacement for the box? can you still port say 2 12 ssd that are inverted?

Now i need to know what to do with it... Or rather what box size/tuning would be good. As well as how much power it can handle daily. I have about 6ft^3 (before any deductions) total to work with and about 4Kw RMS as well...

i just got the car not to long ago and put some cheap audiopipe subs in they get a little bit loud buit really sloppy i plan on getting a HO alternator and some batts. not sure about the mids and tweeters i will buy those after sub and amp right now ive been looking at the nightshade xcon icon and AA havoc i want to get a single 15 or 12 possibly 10 im listen to almost everything i want it to hit lows i have been saving ive got about $400 for the sub and i am planning on saving for a new amp to power the sub any inputs would be great, are there any other subs that might be good to check out ?

I just got a 2002 police interceptor for 2k and want to put a system in it. I listen only to rap and love deep clear bass; I want either a single 15 or dual 12's. I want to spend $1500 or less Should i get a single 15 or 2 12's? What brand should i get? What should i power it with? Why? I know i didnt provide a lot of information (i dont know what other info to provide) and this is all personal preference but any help is much appreciated. I don't know trunk dimensions at this point (car's in the shop)

well i wanted 8's but i like spl. i have a 10" Jl w0 in a sealed cube and that thing slams. im looking for sum 10's that really slam but dont require alot of airspace. ive looked around and cant really find any that are under .75 cu. ft. im looking for sumthing thats under $150. so wats the best 10" sub that performs good in a small sealed box? thanks

I've had 2 15 inch solo barics for the past 2 years(with a 1500D on each sub) and im use to songs hittin a certain way. I wanted something different so i purchased the nightshade 18(3000D pushing it) and the songs that hit hard in my 15z dont hit as hard in the 18. why is this and what songs should i play to get the full effect of this beast in my hatch??????

Hey you owners, lol. I need to know what is the mounting depth of JUST the magnet itself. The website says 8" for the whole subwoofer but i am designing my wall and need to draw out the magnet so i can properly run allthread without running into the magnets. So... just the magnet itself, what is the depth? Thank you.

what is everyones opinions on treo? obviously they have a high and low end but they seem overpriced to me...
