Subwoofers / Speakers

Need some new coaxial for mty tahoe. I am stuck between RE Audio RE.6.5FR, Rockford Fosgate T162C, or the Kicker 08KS600. Which one is the best out of the three. Thanks in advance.

So I got laid off and decided to do a very budget center console sub build for my dodge ram qc. Just looking for opinions, good or bad on the following Phoenix gold rsd memphis pr jbl gt5 alpine type s Also open to suggestions in the $50 - $100/sub range. This is kind of a challenge to see what I can come up with on limited funds, not expecting any miracles. Haven't decided single or multiple sub set up yet, I am sure single would be the popular vote, though not as fun I listen to mostly hip hop, so ported is preferred, but not that big of a deal. I have been flippin back and fourth between subs for a good two weeks just drivin myself crazy. I have finally decided on RE. I can't quite decide if i want to go with 1 15'' SX, or two 12'' Ses. Either way ill go ill probably get an amp just to match the rms, maybe two hundred more, so that being the 15 is 1000, and the 2 twelves are 1200 total, HELP!!

I know you are not suppose to take efficiency into consideration but what if you were comparing 2 different subs from the same company? I had been thinkin about goin with 4 Lvl4 15s and they have an efficiency rating of 89.4 The Lvl4 XL 18s have an efficiency rating of 94.77?!?! So... 4 15s efficiency should be 95.4 and 2 of the 18s should be 97.77... am i to assume that the 2 18" XLs are gonna kill the 4 15s? I know 4 15s may have more surface area but efficiency plays a role in that and apparently, it doesnt apply here. Lookin for some crazy numbers in the lanes and just wonderin if i'm bout to buy the wrong thing...

Hi all, I blew my old POS Kenwood after 3.5 years of beating the crap out of it, so its time for a new sub. My amp is a eD Nine.2 giving 400x1 @4 ohms or 200x2 @2 ohms. I need help choosing a new woofer that will work for my set up. I will be building a new box so ported vs sealed does not matter. Price is up to $250 for the sub. I would like to focus on SQ, but would like a lil SPL. I listen to hip hip/rap music so I need some deep bass fill to keep me happy. So far I am looking at the Image Dynamics IDQ, the Diamond Audio D3 and also the Sound Splinter RL-i. What are your thoughts on these subs? Are the others that you would recommend? First off, hello again. It's been well over a year since I last posted - I used to hang around here back in the beginning. So I have a 99 silverado single cab. I recently got my system stolen (kenwood HU, RF amp, JL 8w7) and I need a new solution that's not as obvious and hidden a little easier. Sadly I must go back to the stock radio because I'm afraid it would be broken into again. I have an MA amp the fits under the seat and powers the 4x6s and components in the doors so I'm not worried about that. Past that I'm not sure... My question is what next? I had a 08 Fi Bl18 on apprx 1000 watts 7.5 cubes tuned 32hz and I liked the output. I am wondering considering the Bl is a more spl orriented sub and the Fi q is mor sq oriented how much out put am i going to sacrifice if i went with the q. I have now a Fi BL18 09 model fully loaded on ~1500 watts in the same enclosure. I havent heard this one yet as the amp is pending delivery. the next question is would a Incriminator Audio DP 18 in the same box on ~ 1500 watts. would i get the same or more output than the Bl18 and better sq possibly as good as the Q? the reason I ask all this i have no way to audition any of these subs and, Its kinda expensive to just buy 'em to try 'e…

Just looking for a little direction on a decent 6.5" component set, and maybe some 6x9's to match. They would be running off of a Kenwood eXcelon KAC-X40. I am currently running an Infinity Kappa series component set and 6x9's, and they are just too bright for me even with tuning on the amp and deck. In the past I have had success with Kenwood eXcelon speakers and silk dome tweeters, but I was just curious to know other good options within a $300 price range. My deck is a Kenwood DNX-5120, and my sub stage consists of a 12" AA Havoc running off of a Sundown SAE-1200D. This is all in a '08 Altima 3.5 SE. Thanks!!!!

thinking of either running 3 AQ SDC2.5 15's or 2 HDC3 15's...wondering what to tune them at. ive heard around 38-40 but that seems high. I had 2 BL 18's @ 33hz and liked the way that sounded so im thinking around 33-35 for the AQ's. Opinions por favor.....

im planing on putting 2 icon 15's in the back of my explorer... what kinda mids and highs would i need to keep up with the bass? i've only done like small setups before so im not sure what kinda speakers i need, i dont have much of a price range, just wanna make sure my money is spent well and not something crappy. i wanna run them to a sundown 100.4. and suggestions? Just got this installed today after i got it in the mail..i didnt realize how big and sexy this thing was. But anyway, i got blown 6x9's and mediocre fusion 6.5 components in the front and i dont want to be wasting this amp. Anybody got suggestions for speakers that would match well with this amp? Somewhere around $250 for components and $150 for rear fill. Ive thought about some lower end focals, type X pro, Infinite perfects, or maybe try the re xxx's. Thx

My friends dad has a 10w7 that either blew up, or just ripped the whole surround. I was wondering if there is any kind of recone kit for it. jl has them but they are 300 dollars. lol

2x Level 3 12's with an AQ 1200d amp, the box is little more than 4 cubes tuned to 39.5 hz, off some tones i was able to do a 139.9, and then some tuning bumped me up to 140.0 db, sealed with TL on the window. The hard part is its in a 4 dr car which are f*ckn hard to get loud, but we shall see what this setup can do when tuned to 43-44 hz, should have results Thursday with some pictures.

I run a 15" SSA Icon in a 4 ft3 ported enclosure, but I just have a round PVC port. I can see that most of the ported enclosures use beautiful "slot" ports (is it the good word ?). Those are more difficult to do, and you have to make it right the first time ! It's difficult to change them after. I want to know why do people use those ports? What are the advantages, comparing to simple and adjustable round ports? Sorry to bother with all these questions, but I am here to learn, and to run my sub correctly. BTW I love the sound of my sub with this enclosure, and I will try to tune it lower !!!

I've been planning to build a sub enclosure for a 15" Fi SSD which has recommendations for a box voulme of 3-4 cu ft at 33hz. Here are my demensions, this is my first build by the way so help is appreciated Box Width: 38" Box Height: 18" Box Top and Bottom Depth: 15" Wood Thickness: .75" Square Port Width: 3" Square Port Length 2: 8" Plug these in at http://reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html and these demensions seem to give me what I want, considering sub displacement will be about .8 cu ft Sorry I cant load up any pics right now, If you want I can load a pic of the calculater details later.

If i were to run 4 Level 3 15s, i have some competition questions about them. I do like that they have a 3" coil by the way Ok anyway, i plan on running a 3500d per PAIR of Level3s if i went with them. For daily, it wouldnt be that much, just for comp. Under heavy excursion- What will happen first- Bottom out or tinsel lead snapping? During music play, will there be tinsel lead slapping? Under heavy overpowering- When running a 3500d on a pair of Lvl3s, i know this may be hard to answer, but what should i expect if i run a 30sec average on music with these at that power level... and probably clipped if i still hadnt reached xmech yet... I'm tryin to find out just …

Right now I have 2 dcon 12s in a sealed box. 1.25 cubes each and they sound ok, but to me they lack the output I like. My girlfriend likes them, so I'm going to give the the box to her when she get's her vehicle which is soon. I orginally intended on putting them in a ported box, 4 cubes tuned to 33hz and even had the box built, but it didn't fit and yes I'm kicking myself in the ass for my miscalculation but it's a beautiful box made by Trev of Pound That Sound and I know it'll eventually sell. I'm strongly considering a pair of 10s in a nice ported box. I have a RF T500-1bd to power a pair. I have never tried a pair of 10s before. I'm pretty sure 3 10s is louder …

I have been learning of some new brands as I have been on here. Let me rephrase, I have learned of brands I have never even heard of before.
