thinking of either running 3 AQ SDC2.5 15's or 2 HDC3 15's...wondering what to tune them at. ive heard around 38-40 but that seems high. I had 2 BL 18's @ 33hz and liked the way that sounded so im thinking around 33-35 for the AQ's. Opinions por favor.....

Right now I have 2 dcon 12s in a sealed box. 1.25 cubes each and they sound ok, but to me they lack the output I like. My girlfriend likes them, so I'm going to give the the box to her when she get's her vehicle which is soon. I orginally intended on putting them in a ported box, 4 cubes tuned to 33hz and even had the box built, but it didn't fit and yes I'm kicking myself in the ass for my miscalculation but it's a beautiful box made by Trev of Pound That Sound and I know it'll eventually sell. I'm strongly considering a pair of 10s in a nice ported box. I have a RF T500-1bd to power a pair. I have never tried a pair of 10s before. I'm pretty sure 3 10s is louder …

I'm just wondering what you guys do to have you're front stage keep up with your bass, cause I have Infinity 6x8 componets and the midrange is just not there when I got my bass on full tilt. So does everyone just get a custom door panel made and put a bunch of speakers in there or is there some speakers that can handle a lot of wattage or what? Maybe infinity perfects would be better I don't know I just want some really loud treble and midrange to keep up with 2 15's right behind me head

2x Level 3 12's with an AQ 1200d amp, the box is little more than 4 cubes tuned to 39.5 hz, off some tones i was able to do a 139.9, and then some tuning bumped me up to 140.0 db, sealed with TL on the window. The hard part is its in a 4 dr car which are f*ckn hard to get loud, but we shall see what this setup can do when tuned to 43-44 hz, should have results Thursday with some pictures.

My buddy has 2 10" subs (cheapo off brands) and 2 12" subs (Dual Audio) and the tens are being pushed by a 300 watt amplifier and the 12's are being pushed by a 580 watt amplifier. I told him that i could buy one sub and be louder than him but he doesnt believe me. So I am asking you guys whether or not a Fi Q 12"or an AudioQue HDC312 (both powered by an AQ1200D) will be louder than his setup. I am almost positive just based on the fact that he has chit subs but i am also wondering if he just has to much of a cone area advantage. Do you guys think i'll be louder?

  9. Hello, I would like to know why so much people want to have 2 10" subs in their cars ? Isn't it easier to have just a 12 or even a 15" sub ? In my country, cars are smaller than yours, but we prefer running one sub on one amp, than multiple subs setups. I think it might be for the output, btu can you give me your opinions, please ? Thanks all

  10. Wassup all. I was thinking about revamping my car audio and one thing I would love to change is the driver in my sub stage. I have limited access to very few mainstream drivers like Kicker and RF. Both of them have some decent stuff but way overpriced and I have noticed most of them are pretty boomy and lack definition. My goal is to be able to tell the different notes apart and have the ability for multiple simultaneous bass lines to be distinguished so you know they are playing. I am looking at the Fi Q15 but am willing to look elsewhere in the 250-350 price range. My current amp is a Memphis MCD-1000. It is rated to put out 1100 watts at 1-ohm ( I know it can but it d…

I run a 15" SSA Icon in a 4 ft3 ported enclosure, but I just have a round PVC port. I can see that most of the ported enclosures use beautiful "slot" ports (is it the good word ?). Those are more difficult to do, and you have to make it right the first time ! It's difficult to change them after. I want to know why do people use those ports? What are the advantages, comparing to simple and adjustable round ports? Sorry to bother with all these questions, but I am here to learn, and to run my sub correctly. BTW I love the sound of my sub with this enclosure, and I will try to tune it lower !!!

Ok so a long time ago I had the maw-15's, two of them, anyway they were amazing. but due to economic circumstances I had to regretfully sell them to make ends meet. Also along with my tiny but very stout amp. So here is the new deal going on... I have a better job now. new car. and a new budget. I drive a 2006 Pontiac g6 sedan.... I am looking into two subs for the car. i was wanting 10's because before i sold my maw's i tried to get them in the trunk of the g6 and it didnt work well. so Anyway 2 10's is what im looking at, or maybe 2 12's. budget is $500-$600 for both subs together. thanks in advance ~MadroX *Edit: Spelling Error

I came across a good deal on a set of RE 6.5" components. Not the XXX model just the RE model. Looking for some input from guys using these/have used these in the past. Thinking about swapping these in place of my Kappa 6x9's since one of them is flaky. I'm not looking to compete or anything. This is in my daily driver and will be powered by my Alpine V-drive (60x4) I think it's more like 25-30 rms head unit unless these need there own amp.

I have been learning of some new brands as I have been on here. Let me rephrase, I have learned of brands I have never even heard of before. So in this light I thought maybe peps would give a shout out to all the quality brands they have ever had or heard of because I fell so left out, here in the sticks.

If i were to run 4 Level 3 15s, i have some competition questions about them. I do like that they have a 3" coil by the way Ok anyway, i plan on running a 3500d per PAIR of Level3s if i went with them. For daily, it wouldnt be that much, just for comp. Under heavy excursion- What will happen first- Bottom out or tinsel lead snapping? During music play, will there be tinsel lead slapping? Under heavy overpowering- When running a 3500d on a pair of Lvl3s, i know this may be hard to answer, but what should i expect if i run a 30sec average on music with these at that power level... and probably clipped if i still hadnt reached xmech yet... 22. Hi all, I am looking for any information possible regarding a setup for my vw golf. I am looking to replace front indoor speakers and add some new ones to the rear doors (if suggested of course). I am also looking for a subwoofer to place in a box in the boot, one or two depending again on suggestions. I have no real experience with them in any way so any information is really appreciated. I have no experience of what amplifiers would be needed either or how to wire a system up. The music i am aiming my setup at will be mainly rock and metal but could quite easily include most genres, i am going for a quality of sound rather than something just to make a thud or loud nois…

I got a Memphis M3 10 (2008) and its def. blown but it still barely vibrates and makes the faintest bass when I turn it up. What does that mean? I already ordered a recone so I was just wondering if it would be possible to fix? The coil looks fine and both terminals still have the correct resistance. Tinsel looked okay but I didnt really look that good due to it being a bulky 10 so its hard to see anything. Anybody know what it might be and how to fix it?

I will be running 4000 watts when my other amp comes in and i have narrowed my subwoofer down to 3 choices. If youve had experience with these subs, please give opinions on which one would be good for me. It will be played daily with occasional spl competition use. The choices are FI fully loaded BTL 15, Atomic Extinction Level Event 15, or DC Sound Lab LVL 4XL 15.

Time to upgrade! Right now i have Infinity Reference coaxials, and they were good for first speakers, but the longer i owned them, more i realized that they suck. I have 6.5s up front and 6x9s in the back. I'm not planning on buying new 6x9s cause i haven't read one post that is for buying them, or even having them for that matter. I also have a SDC2.5 12" sub and an AQ1200D amp. i have around $200 to spend and have list of component sets that i think look good......but I've only heard the Focal set, and i was very impressed! Definitely feel free to add speakers to the list. I want SQ comps, don't really care if they get loud.....as long as they sound good! JL Audio VR…
