okay i need helping finding the best sub/ subs for me. heres what i have so far: Sundown Audio SAE 1200D 2.2 cuft max box area 6.5" mounting depth is the max i can get for the subs $350 price range overall my goals are to get something that is loud but also sounds good. im leaning towards 1 10" Fi BL with cooling and flatwind coil. but does anybody else have any recommendations? Alright guys what's up! I need some help here. Right now I have a 97 BMW 318is with a 12'' Kicker CVR in a ported box a 800watt PPI PCX2200 amp. and a ghetto cheap cap from Fry's. Now I need some Components that'll fit just like factory. My local shop told me to go with Focals so that'll probably be what i run with unless i get enough people to tell me i can get something as good for cheaper haha. I was wondering if I could get a sub that'll rape 2 12'' cvr, cvx, jl w6v2. I want a single sub at 800rms that'll use a box that takes almost half my trunk. I do care about SQ. i have a set of the hybrid clarus c61-2s. i let them break in for a few days and decided to tune them today. everything sounded great until my right tweeter cut out. the mid on the right side and the left tweeter and mid are fine though. tried different songs. and it cuts out on songs with alot of highs. i have a kenwood kdc-X994. ive tried setting the gains with volume 25/35 30/35 and 35/35. i emailed kenwood and they said theis headunit doesnt clip at any volume. i adjusted the gains everythime i changed the volume and it still cuts out. if i turn the gains down the tweeter is ok but im eally losing output. checked both tweeters with a dmm and they read the same. cant …

well as it always happens i want to make a little more noise now and im starting to upgrade in the process of getting a t40001bd and 2 d3100 im torn between 2 18" btl's with p chamfer and the hixmax coil OR 2 18" bl's loaded im looking for reliability first and then loud tuned musically 31hz ish i guess my price range is 700-900 depending on whats out there im just trying to keep up i mostly listen to rap but i like how on the Q i can put some rock in and impress people with how the big slow 18 keeps up i got like 11 ^3 ft and polly fill to work with also any input is needed and appreciated

i set my amp to give my sub 1000w but the amp is 1200w do you guys think it can take 1200w in a sealed 2.6ft box without any problems?

I blew the tweets on my DLS components and its time for an upgrade. I just got the H701/C701 installed recently so now I have full control of crossovers, slopes, etc... However, I can't go 3 way because of budget constraints and the constraint of me not wanting to do fiberglass work in 100*+ weather. Ok As the title states, I have a BL 15 that locked up on me. I thought the coil just burned but after taking it out and looking at the magnet it seems that the top plate and the first magnet in the stack are about 1/8" offset from the rest of the magnet stack. I pulled the cone and coil out and yep the pole and the bottom 2 magnets along with the bottom plate are moved over. Is there suposed to be some kind of epoxy between the magnets to keep them from moving or do they just get held there under screw pressure? I have never reconed a speaker but I would like to fix this one if possible. Can I just loosen the screws and relign the magnets then put the new cone assy in? Th…

First off, hello again. It's been well over a year since I last posted - I used to hang around here back in the beginning. So I have a 99 silverado single cab. I recently got my system stolen (kenwood HU, RF amp, JL 8w7) and I need a new solution that's not as obvious and hidden a little easier. Sadly I must go back to the stock radio because I'm afraid it would be broken into again. I have an MA amp the fits under the seat and powers the 4x6s and components in the doors so I'm not worried about that. Past that I'm not sure... My question is what next? Well, I received my new 12" Mag D2 and this thing is amazing, I'm powering it at a 4 ohm setup running around 700watts (visonik 900xD). I'm curious to see what it'll do with the full 1400 or so watts. Its mounted in a box I picked up from Mark, I believe its 2.8 cu. ft. ported at 28Hz. It is very very accurate and doesnt back down to anything, I'm impressed. All I want to do now is cruise around and listen to some good tunes. is there anything bad about using passive radiators? for the sound i am trying to get i think i either need to have a wall or open space for my subs (no trunk). i am not so much concerned with spl or sq i want my car to have a lot of impact and with the limited space that i have 4 15's wouldnt fit into my trunk with adequate airspace.

I'm looking for suggestions on new mids for my 2010 silverado ext cab. I haven't done much to the truck yet just trying to decide on mids. The ill decide on power and tweeters. I like my music super loud. My setup in my car consists of 4 selenium st200s and 4 crescendo 6.5s off the factory amp. Lol and that sounds perfect to me. I'm trying to keep my budget as low as possible like 40 bucks a driver. I know I don't have enough details for you guys but bare with me and give me some suggestions! Thanks

i run a f150 supercrew 2001 i have pioneer headunit with door speakers that are amped.. and im looking to finish my system i was recommended to this box/sub setup http://www.supercrewsound.com/commer...Id=15&catId=58 with 2 ID 10 subs i want it to hit pretty nice and get loud and be overall nice. is this a good setup or do i have better options? how loud do these ID subs get,etc? I have also considered a single 12 in ssd in a different similar style box but with bigger mounting depth and using up an entire 1.0-1.2 cubes SEALED. what do you guys think? thanks

I wanna know when you are supposed to re cone a sub woofer ?? Is it kinda just a feel kinda thing like pushing it up down and guessing if it is to loose or to go on guessing how many hours the sub has been played.

I'm not 100% sure that I'll say all of this right, but I'm going to wing it. Let's just say you want to build a single reflex bandpass box, but you want to use a sub that isn't recommended for sealed enclosures. How do you find out how large to make the sealed part of the enclosure?

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and fairly new to car audio. I happened upon this site a few days ago and saw the MAW-15's, and have read some reviews on them. I'm pretty sure I want to buy them, but I would like some input on them, first. I've been thinking about buying an IDQ15 for awhile. But, if I can pick up a sub for 1/3 of the price that sounds as good(or damn near close to it), then it's a no-brainer. I'm willing to go up to $300 for a sub. im having some trouble making a decision on what size btl i wanna get. i have a 2000 4 door chevy blazer and i wanna try to keep the box height under the back of my seat. it will be ported. i cant make up my mind between 3 of the 12's, 2 15's or 1 18. if i do the 3 12's i can give them about 2.5 cubes a piece after displacement. the 15's would be a bit of a squeeze. the 18 i think would be fine in about 7-8 cubes. i cant decide what i want. im looking for something that i can beat on daily but i still want them to be able to get LOUD cause i do compete at local meca shows. any input would help also if you have some recommendations for other subs for around the same price …

I have purchased a Mag D2 15 and am trying to find the specs on it so I can build a box for it while I wait on Fedex. I'm sure it's been posted a million times somewhere and I apologize if it has. I am finding a ton of info on the new Mags though Can anyone point me in the right direction or hook me up with some specs please? Need to know what size ported box they like, Cutout diameter, Mounting Depth, and anything else that would be useful to me. If I can't find info I was just gonna do 4 cubes at 33hz.
