Subwoofers / Speakers

Discuss Subwoofers And All Aspects Of Speakers here.

would 1500w rms for subwoofers and 500w rms for speakers be a good balance for a lot of bass but good loud music quality too

  2. Hey guys, glad to be able to post here So this is going to be my first install and i have decided on the subs I want.. 2 FI Q 12" wich are rated at 1000 rms a piece but can go up to 1500 rms a piece with a addon wich I am getting. First of all Should I get the Dual 1 version or the Dual 2? second of all : What amp is good for this install? Right now Im thinking of a saz-2500d or AQ 2200D...any other recomendations? Which one shall I choose? I want to send around 1200 - 1500 TRUE rms to each sub so the amp will need to be tested and rated at around 2500 TRUE RMS muahah third : I need a high output alternator for my car: where do i buy this? Do i also need a second batter?…

I recently bought a 2000 s10 from my grandma. It was my grandpa's truck who passed away over a year ago. It has less then 40K miles on it and hadn't been driven more then 200 miles in the last 4 years. Anyways, I've been thinking about a new system for it. I pictured in my head that it would be cool to build a shelving unit above the sub box in the back of the s10 (extended cab with 3rd door). Would include two open bins on either side of truck, with open space in between with metal rack to bungie to. Not sure if you can picture that but I think it would be useful. I've narrowed it down to using woofers no bigger then 10", due to height. Currently I have a 12" xcon…

as the title states. i like how the xxx sounds, it gets loud, but im thinkin...maybe a 12" mt on 2500w....behind the seats, i can get like 2.7 cubes ported, should be enough for 1 12" mt right? and weight, the 05xxx is like maybe what, 10 lbs less than a 12" mt? i know the xxx has better SQ, etc. but i would probably like either one, i like just straight up loud bass. heres the xxx on a power acoutik a2400db

Im thinking about building a box for my magnum D2s which would be about 2.5cuft a sub and the box will be tuned to 34hz. Is that too much? Do you think i need to have a 2.0cuft box tuned to 32hz? Im not doing any competitions, but i listen to ALOT of rap. And i want something that will make my subs pound insanely yet hit EVERY note of bass while doing it. I dont want the subs to bottom out or nothing when the bass drops too low. So is the 2.5 ok or should i reduce it to 2.0. And what about the tuning frequency?

I'm trying to decide If I should go with one SAZ-4500D or two 3500D's to power (2) 18" FI BTL's fully loaded. I had my mind pretty set on the saz-4500D, but Ive read that plenty of guys are running the fully loaded btl's way over 3k each so I dont think that the saz-4500D could get the most out of the two btl's running at normal volts of 12.8-14.5 So what amp do you guys think i should go with or whats the better idea? Thanks, Mike P.

Hey SSA, I am in need of some help selecting which subwoofers to go with that would be fit my application. I'm going to try to give as much info as possible about goals, requirments ect.. I have done lots of research on the drivers that I'm considering and while there all quality drivers, I do not have personal experance with any of them so it's somewhat hard to make a choice. Vehicile: 2002 Acura RSX. The car is a hatchback for those who do not know. My plan in to build custom fiberglass enclosers for two 10 inch subwoofers on each side of the hatch. They will be about 1cubic foot and I also plan to port them using aero ports being that a slot port would be tuff to w…

As of now i have an AQ2200 and 2 12 Type R's.. I cannot decide if i want to get 2 more type r's or sell the current type r's and buy 2 15'' HDC3s(copper) If i was to get the HDC3 i'd buy another AQ2200, but if i was to get 2 more type r's i would just use the 1 AQ2200 I alrdy know im going to need more batts with the 2 AQ2200 then i would with 1 AQ2200 and possibly a bigger alt. Dont think about budget when picking between the 2 choises Thanks Dom.

I blew the tweets on my DLS components and its time for an upgrade. I just got the H701/C701 installed recently so now I have full control of crossovers, slopes, etc... However, I can't go 3 way because of budget constraints and the constraint of me not wanting to do fiberglass work in 100*+ weather. So what I'm looking for is a killer 2 way setup with a 6.5"+ speaker and a tweet (can do large format). Initial budget is/was $300 but it is flexible. As far as prior experience I have heard TMax's CA18 and LPG tweet (I think that's it) and love the mid. So I am considering a variation of that woofer. As far as tweets I haven't been impressed by really any since my first set …

One of my friends has 2 Pioneer TS-W307D4s in a regular ole cheap ported box on a Kenwood 1800 watt amp and it actually gets pretty loud...in the 140s if he turns it all the way up and it doesnt sound bad either. For the price ($50-$70) they are actually a very good deal. Any ever heard these or the step up Pioneer Premier subs?

Nick I would appreciated any feedbacks from you or the others. I have a 99 Accord with a cup holder that pulls down from the middle of the back seat and creates a tiny rectangular opening through the trunk. Is it advisable to face my D2s directly through this hole from the trunk through the little hole in the rear seats? They are charging me 500 for this type of install (fiberglass). Let me know if this is advisable. All I want is a tight and punchy bass.

Hey guys! Like the title says, I'm getting a brand new setup on a new car, but i'm not too familiar with subs and amps. I stumbled upon this site (an awesome site by the way ) and learned so much already! So now I turn it over to your thoughts and opinions! Here's what I'm looking for. I want a 12" sub in a sealed box. I want a good amp that works very well with the sub. I don't want to loose too much trunk space (need to fit my mountain bike in there.) I've been leaning toward the rl-p after everything i've read, but I'm not sure if I should wait for that new D2. I would like to get the sub in a week or two. I want something that sounds good and hits hard and low, b…

Well, I received my new 12" Mag D2 and this thing is amazing, I'm powering it at a 4 ohm setup running around 700watts (visonik 900xD). I'm curious to see what it'll do with the full 1400 or so watts. Its mounted in a box I picked up from Mark, I believe its 2.8 cu. ft. ported at 28Hz. It is very very accurate and doesnt back down to anything, I'm impressed. All I want to do now is cruise around and listen to some good tunes. Just wanted to let y'all know how good you guys are doing, keep pumpin those things out! btw I'll definitly be showing this thing off, so i hope to get you guys some more sales of these wicked sub woofers. props to my bro WeDgE for sending me thi…

  22. First off, hello again. It's been well over a year since I last posted - I used to hang around here back in the beginning. So I have a 99 silverado single cab. I recently got my system stolen (kenwood HU, RF amp, JL 8w7) and I need a new solution that's not as obvious and hidden a little easier. Sadly I must go back to the stock radio because I'm afraid it would be broken into again. I have an MA amp the fits under the seat and powers the 4x6s and components in the doors so I'm not worried about that. Past that I'm not sure... My question is what next? I know it's vague but I don't have a lot of space and I don't know what to do. I hate lowering my standards but I'd rat…

  24. Started by vettonator,

I'm looking for some really hard core 10" subs for daily ground pounding in my '91 Vette. Three 10" subs in a TOTAL space of 3 cu. ft. or less would fit quite nicely in the space I intend to use. I'm looking for decent sound quality, but I mostly just want subs that will sound the loudest when pushed to reasonable limits. What I mean by reasonable limits, is the maximum output that can be sustained continuously without causing any damage (at least to the sub anyway). I really don't care if it takes 10 watts or 10,000 watts to get that max output, I just wanna know which ones will have the most output in this situation. Thanks for any advice.

Up until recently Ive been thinking about going with a single 12" BL, SX, LVL4 XL, or BTL. But now after talking to Rusty, Im thinking anout going with 2 10s instead. Im still currently in the planning stage and i wanted some imput on what to do. Ill have roughly 2.5ft?^3 to work with under my back seat after I lift it 2 inches. I mainly listen to rap, and my goals are to get loud and low. ill currently do not have an amp, but ill be matching the amp to the sub/s.
