Subwoofers / Speakers

I'm in the final stages of planning out the system for my 97 Maxima. So far, I have 4 Sundown E8 woofers and a SAX-100.4 amp ordered to cover the midbass. Not purchased, but planned, is a SAZ-3000D running 2 Fi Q15's sealed. I want to run 2 of the E8's in the rear deck where the stock speakers are now and the other 2 E8's in the stock speaker locations in the front doors. The E8's will be powered by the 100.4 in a 4 channel 4ohm config so I can fade as needed for staging. That brings me to the topic of this post. I've posted elsewhere but am hoping for more input. I'm changing/adding subs on a budget and I have it narrowed down to a few, but would like people's opinions on them. Car is a 2013 Elantra sedan, factory HU, using a basic LOC for signal. Will run 1/0 power wire. Amp will be a Taramps, model dependent on sub(s). I'll be building an mdf enclosure, probably ported. So after finding out I burned up one of my zv4 leads (probably because of clipping), I decided to throw my mayhem back in. Voltage was dropping to 14.0 from 14.9 max, so I knew something was wrong. Mayhem was working fine when I took it out a year ago when I got the zv4. They were ordered with D2 coils. How did this happen? I cant imagine it was from clipping as well.

I'll be upgrading my system next summer but I'll buying the gear over the winter so come summer it will be build time. I need help pick out subs and some components speakers. As for what vehicle its going in, I'm not sure yet I'm planing on buying a second car also next summer. i have a MA Audio hk15x2 and i was wondering if i am able to invert it. and if i do that i have to invert the polarity right?

I had a kid at school offer me $700 cash for my SA15s in the box. I payed 500 for the subs and box new so i'm almost positive i'm going to do it. Now, the question is do I buy the exact same subs and get a box built and take the $200 profit and get some components or something like that or do I slightly upgrade. I'm going to make a enclosure that will use almost all of my trunk space, so I'm going to make the bottom out of fiberglass so that I can use the space from the spare wheel well. The port have to be so long that it will close off 1/3 of the opening of the spare wheel well. Few pictures to illustrate the problem: from the side From above: Will this be a problem? I blew the tweets on my DLS components and its time for an upgrade. I just got the H701/C701 installed recently so now I have full control of crossovers, slopes, etc... However, I can't go 3 way because of budget constraints and the constraint of me not wanting to do fiberglass work in 100*+ weather. So what I'm looking for is a killer 2 way setup with a 6.5"+ speaker and a tweet (can do large format). Initial budget is/was $300 but it is flexible. i have a 04 pontiac grand am gt. i bought the system ive been looking at for almost 2yrs now, im hoping its as good as i have been dreaming it to be. i guess if i would of read more i would have picked something with sq, not all spl. but im ok with that. could anyone tell me if i need anything else before installing.... i got: 2 orion h2 15.4 subs, 2 orion hcca d5000 amps, 1 15 farad stinger capacitor, 220amp ho alternator, upgraded "big three" wiring. i was also looking at : stinger drycell battery 2150, and a lightning audio 50 farad capacitor-> will i also need these for power? and anything else to run effectiently? sorry i dont know anything about…

I'm looking for suggestions on new mids for my 2010 silverado ext cab. I haven't done much to the truck yet just trying to decide on mids. The ill decide on power and tweeters. I like my music super loud. My setup in my car consists of 4 selenium st200s and 4 crescendo 6.5s off the factory amp. Lol and that sounds perfect to me. I'm trying to keep my budget as low as possible like 40 bucks a driver. I know I don't have enough details for you guys but bare with me and give me some suggestions! Thanks

I am a man that plans ahead. I'm planning on building a SS1-2 car next year and my plans include 4 saz-3000d's and 2 subs. I have many choices but what subs are really going to be burp happy seeing 6000+ watts rms? Some subs i'm considering are: IA DP 21 (if wayne harris doesn't shoot my idea down as it's technically within the rules) Fi Btl 18"s Nightshade 18"s Hope for a Mach 5 SPL 18 PAP wmd^2 I'm looking for efficiency as well as the ability to take a 3-6 second burp. For bass race I would run a saz-3000d to each coil at 2 ohms vs. the strapped to each sub at 1 ohm. Any other suggestions, I know I'm getting ahead of myself but I'm looking for options.

i have ~ 8 cft of space and 2 kw rms of power. my goal is low and loud bass response. for sub id like to run either 1 15 or 2 15s. now winisd shows me that 1 15 l7 (example) in 6 cft space is exactly as loud as 2 15 l7 in the same box. does this represent the truth? hard to believe 1 15 is as loud as 2 of them. i thought 2 15s would push way more air.

would 1500w rms for subwoofers and 500w rms for speakers be a good balance for a lot of bass but good loud music quality too

Does the crossover in a component speaker system affect the way the mid-bass woofer plays? Reason I ask is because I'm currently using only the mid-bass driver of a component system and it doesnt seem like the speaker is playing as good as it did when the crossover was in use.

I'm sure I won't be dissapointed with the new one, but if the claw is in perfect working condition and I sold it for a new one, how big of a differance is there? I would rather send in the claw and get it a face lift with all new SID2 parts, but I'm sure that would cost consideralbly more that a new one and more than I got. I'm also considering it just to get something new. I tried an avalanche, did not compare, type r (just cause) sounded good, but not a mag. But in order to get a new SID2, the claw would have to be sold. Hmmmm what to do.......

I am currently running 2 (400rms each) Sundown E-12s each in a 1.2 cubic foot ported box at 36hz. Powered by a Hifonics 1700.1 I recently found out that I could put a box in my back seat that will hold 2 15s. (R/T 300 series) thats 3.2 cubic feet per sub tuned at 32hz. Yes I understand 3.2 is just under the gross volume and does not account for the port. I also know it isn't the best box in the world but I can't afford much more right now and it is better than what I have. I have a convertible so I lose a lot of sound but I wanted to upgrade from the 12s to really just have more cone area and maybe a sub that will handle more power than the E series from sundown. I'm getting a new Fit Sport and considering that its the premium sound i was just going to upgrade by intergrating a sub into it, problem is, i am picky. I dont want overpowering bass but i want to feel it, and it has to be clear. It will be a single sub setup of whatever size, since i have plenty of room *grand total of 41 cubes in the car* Have at this, i want to do it right on the first try this time.....

Someone at a norwegian forum actually said the 307 and 326 comps looked like a Morel Midbass and cheap peerless tweets. I female dogslapped him lightly. Anyone care to slap him some more? Damn what Ignorance! Why import Peerless from Denmark and resell it from the US? Peerless is ok, by all means, but nowhere like the 307 or 327`s I gather. Still pissed of at the damn thieves!
