Subwoofers / Speakers

I have a 4 channel amplifier, that's 2ohm stable when bridged. It gives out 4x140 @ 4 ohm and 2 x 360W @ 4 ohm. I'm going to use his amplifier to run a front stage and a small subwoofer in the rear. Is it possible to use one 4 ohm DVC subwoofer and connect each coil to their own speaker terminal? Would the result be the same if I just bridged two of amplifier termials and wired the subwoofer to 8 ohm?

Am currently decideing between getting a 15" Incriminator Audio Death Row (with the correct gain setting and knob control) or a 15" RD Audio Heavyweight (SQ model). I have 2000 ~2200 watts of rms to play with and planning to use a 4 cu.ft enclosure tuned to about 28~32 Hz seeing that the enclosure size is within both woofer's specs. Electrical is not a problem ( 230 amp HO alt., Big 3 done with double runs of 0 gauge, kinetik 1800 in the back). Am wanting to know which sub to get. I have a sundown SA 8 rev 1 motor no basket, can I recone it into an SSA F8L or a 10”/12” Sub if I buy a bigger basket?

Here it goes... At work, we have a Definitive Supercube subwoofer (awesome little things) that has been having problems. It powers up but will have little to no output. That's beside the point. I took it apart and checked the coil to see if it was open. I took my meter and it measured just under 30 ohms. We talked to the Definitive rep and he said that was right. My question is, what advantages are there to using a high impedance speaker like this? Keep the impedance spike higher in the FR range so the true sub bass isn't affected? ok, so I set out to look for a pair of these subs and wound up with 3 of them. They arrive next week and I am starting to look for some options. I thought of selling one and running two ported off of 2-SQA-1's that I have, but I am increasingly liking the idea of running all three. I have looked at the Audiopipe AP30001D which according to JBLCAMRY are good for 2600rmsx1@2ohms, but I have also looked at the new Soundstream Dtower which does 1400rmsx1@2ohms. The deal is anytime i listen to the music in my car at low volume my sub woofer will some times not play as loud as it should at the volume my head-unit is set at. but when i turn the volume on the head-unit up half way it will start playing like it should at that volume. head-unit - eclipse cd5030 amp - jl audio 300/2 v1 sub - sundown audio sa-10

Alright guys im looking for a little help. A guy i work with has a 97 single cab ford ranger is wanting to get a little bass in his truck. there isnt a lot of room behind the passenger seat(havnt had a chance to measure), but what would be a good shallow sub that would work well in a small sealed box? i was looking at the new sundown sd-2 but im not sure how well that would work. any ideas? I have a 2002 Chevy trailblazer, Boston acoustic 4 channel amp powering the b.a. interiors. I also have a kinetic hc800 to help power the jl1000v2 which is 1000rms. but i need some help choosing subs. i have a suv so the box size is virtually unlimited, i want something that hits rlly hard so i can have some bragging rights. i was thinkin maybe 2 15's but have no idea what kind i should get. money is not a factor i will spent what it takes to bump as hard as i can with 1000rms. HELP ME!!!!!

h im looking to run 4 of these subs maybe 2 unsure yet but im looking to get 2 3000 watt dc amps, will the level 5 18 be good for 3000 watts or is it not enough

i got my si d2 saturday and put it in a 1 cubic foot box sealed and it just absolutly pounded. i then put it in a 3.0 cubic foot box tuned to 28 and it is just sick down low!!!! i have it on a bx1500d with wired to 1 ohm, (but a 60 amp fuse at the front) and trust me all i need is 1 12. i play alot of screwed up music that has a bass boost down low and man i rattles the whole car plus the house. I LOVE IT i may go inside the box and take out my last port wall to raise the tuning to 32-35 for a little more spl (like it isn't there)

I just got my hands on a 04' Kicker 15" L7. Some girl was gonna throw this away in the dumpster, so I asked if I could have it. Anyway, I hooked this up to my Zed Mini and it powers up just fine. One thing I did notice is that there is a bit of cone noise (distortion) as if the cone is breaking up. Everything on the sub looks great. The surround spider and tinsel leads all look very new. Is this a normal thing for these subs? I'm not familiar with this model. I'll probably sell it in the near future if it's in good working condition. Any suggestions about my concerns? Thanks.

What is the MX for? Im assuming it's neither an SPL driver nor a SQ driver. Why is it so weak? My IB3s are more than 12Bl!

I know you are not suppose to take efficiency into consideration but what if you were comparing 2 different subs from the same company? I had been thinkin about goin with 4 Lvl4 15s and they have an efficiency rating of 89.4 The Lvl4 XL 18s have an efficiency rating of 94.77?!?! So... 4 15s efficiency should be 95.4 and 2 of the 18s should be 97.77... am i to assume that the 2 18" XLs are gonna kill the 4 15s? I know 4 15s may have more surface area but efficiency plays a role in that and apparently, it doesnt apply here. Lookin for some crazy numbers in the lanes and just wonderin if i'm bout to buy the wrong thing...

Hi All, I am currently looking to upgrade my two Audioque HDS3.1 (probably 4-5 years old or so, but still in good condition) which is currently paired with a SKAR SK-2500. They sound great but I am looking for deeper and lower bass so I was considering getting just one large sub (a 15" or 18"). I currently have a car audio battery so I think I have enough power and have just recently understood that more cone surface area equals deeper and fatter bass. I currently have a 2003 Lexus GS300 so probably will lay it in the trunk. I think the amplifier is pretty good unless any of you have any different opinions, I am very open to hearing about it. I have 2 18" Zcons I recently got, and I just realized the baskets are slightly different. 1 sub stands a little taller then the other, one basket has the option to be a quad terminal, and has different cooling. Wondering if I can still wire subs together to 1 amp with no worries. All coils read 1.0

I am currently replacing my two Exile Audio Pro xd12's for 2 Sundown SA-12. The feedback on sundown has been amazing and am really looking forward to hearing them. I am on a budget and want to get the best out of the llittle cash i have. I will be running these SA-12 off a Rockford P-1000.1 amp until i can get a bigger and better one. My question is the enclosure. A custom enclosure for 2 ported is quite a bit of money over here, so i am looking for a box i can find to order than is close enough to specs to sound good. Does anyone know a good enclosure to put these 2 SA-12's in that will sound good?

I was looking at getting a SS RLP 18 but I came across a good deal on one 15" REVO and would buy another. My question is are they good for a daily loud setup? I have done SPL subs in the past but want a low end monster now that is loud to the ear doesn't matter about a meter we don't have any compitions here anyway. Would they work good?

I will have to make some door panels since the Crescendo 8's wont fit in the stock locations without the factory door panels blocking half the speaker. So I think panels are the best choice here. I will probably do them in 3/4 MDF and flush mount them and cover in black vinyl to match truck and box. I was going to do 6's also in doors but dont have room unless I really get into the storage areas of the stock panels which I dont really want to do. Should I do the FT1's flush mounted in door panels too or try my hand at fiber glassing some pillar pods in each corner. Will they be loud enough in doors? are the IXL's available in any other voice coil besides the dual 2ohm,maybe dual 4ohm?

I am currently running a memphis 16-st1000d amp. My question is: If I were to get 2 D2 ohm subs and wire them to 1 ohm on this amp, would it hold up ok? I've read that it has a 1100 watt output on 14v @ 1 ohm. I'm not sure the effenciency or anything though. I've done a little research but havnt found a whole lot.
