Hi, people. Here I'll be posting my build log of a box I am working on. This is going to be my first properly done box. First time using plywood, wood glue, clamps and any sort of design and calculations. Last one was done with particle board, silicone and screws. Let's talk about the box. It is going to be 1.74 cub ft for a 12" SA-12 , the used material is poplar plywood, kerfed port tuned to 32hz, flushed driver, painted port and around the driver in white, wrapped in carpet, bolt terminals. The design was done by Bromo and excellent is the least I can say about it. He did all I asked about the box in a pretty fast time considering it is not an easy job. He is the man!…

So a buddy of mine gave me his 2 L7's and an amp (that shall not be named as I fear I would be stoned to death). He told me the l7's didn't work but I took them anyways. You can see where there was a little melting going on. For the first sub I tested each voice coil and only one coil worked. The coil that didn't work is pictured above I haven't tested the second sub but the only thing noticably wrong is one of the wires is disconnected on the positive voice coil, which I will solder(sp?) back together. Both the subs move freely by hand and I really don't see anything visibly wrong (except for what is mentioned above). I have never owned a sub so I really don't know wha…

Firstly I must say this is the best forum I have come across and has helped me by far the most! from NOOB! to beginner I'd say "D So, I like my bass, well what i have of it. Just a Panasonic mini-system in my room that can push 450 watts max with sub. I believe I'm looking for an SQ set-up, to me I'm sure 1000 watts RMS will still get loud sealed, maybe not to you maniacs pushing 3000d's n chit! So to me... This "Should" work well ? :S 1) Fi Q 12" ( Dual 1 or 2)? 2) 1-1.5ft Sealed ( Advise for size or difference between 1 and 1.5 ) 3) Sundown SAE-1000d or RF P1000BD (Don't Know which is best) 4) Speakers to replace stock - ALPINE-SPR-17S Comps 5) Need an amp to run them (…

This is the system I have designed on paper looking to make it in my vehicle. I'm looking to get opinions from other car audio nuts just to make sure my ideas aren't mislead. Here goes: Vehicle: 2002 Ford Explorer XLT Subwoofer: Fully Loaded 18" Fi BL Amplifier: Sundown Audio SAE-1200D Head unit: Alpine IXA-W404 Box: Custom built tuned to 31hz Wiring: Big 3 Connection using Knukonceptz 1/0 wire Battery in front: Optima YellowTop Mids-Highs- Taking suggestions on components and amplifiers to run them! Let me know what you think guys. I made these kicks about a month ago, which included about 5 layers of bondo due to pinholes after sanding :punch: but I think they turned out pretty good. Oh yeah, those are the 307's in the kicks.

Unfortunatly I can't take any credit for the design of this box (but Decware.com can) I only take credit for 12 hours of labor building the thing. Keep in mind this is for a HT Those are a pair of a/d/s/ 3 series, sweet little drivers but I'd like to see some RLI's in there. First impressions of build: WAY harder to build than anyother box I've done so far. But seeing how this is my 5 or sixth box (ever) depending on how you count, I'm not doing too bad. Freaking rad design, I nod my head to the guys over at decware. How does it sound, well pretty good, I only had a few mins with it this morning before work. I'm not sure it is as accurate as possible but that could very …

Ok, so yes I was one of the lucky ones to demo the prototype of this new Mag. And I "kinda" knew what to expect, though the proto 15 had some chrome problems leaking into the pole causing non 100% performance. So I did know how much better to expect from the production driver. So it came in wed. and I put it in thursday. I just completely swapped it out with my other Mag (previous version) same box, same amp, same amp settings, xover settings, same everything except the new driver. So I let it break in for 2 days on my drives to work (45 min one way). Didn't turn it up past 20, out of 35, just to warm her up and all. just some good ol Panic to break her in. (schools is r…

well not really funny but the guys at the tire shop got one hell of a laugh out of my visit. So I went to get my tire patched do to a nail. No biggie right? well after they patch it they call me out there and show me my back tire how it is worn badly on the insides. And they are less than a year old. So we start talking about what caused it, and they say it is probably the alignment since they were just rotated and use to be on the front and the front ones show a little wear also. Well they throw it up and put the machine on it to align it. They then come back inside and he asks me "Do you tend to carry a heavy load around often? cause your back end is really low." Well …

As most of you know I unloaded my xcons below tuning and did some damage. Only one had visible damage and I corrected that with some devcon epoxy. Now that they are both back in and playing my wife and I both agree that they have lost output. Is this possible? Could I have done enough non visible damage to the soft parts that they would lose noticeable output? I assumed they might be a little sloppy now from stressing the spiders, but to lose output? Thanks in advance.

So I'm going to be using these little monsters in my dad's stereo & possibly in my own. I figured I'd show you guys some pics of them & ask for any ideas. I'm going to give my dad 2 & use 4 for myself. My question is what kind of enclosure should I use. Mainly asking about the 2 for my dad, I have never built for home audio & am working with a fairly large room. The rooms 20 x 14 with a 17 ft ceiling. Just looking for any help or links at all. thanks, nate the army!

I know that some of you either don't care, or don't know, about the importance of good RCA's and speaker wire but I got my new Tara Labs Spectrum 3 interconnects in and wanted to show them off. BTW: I am running all Tara Labs in my vehicle - Spectrum 3 RCA's and Omni speaker wire. This stuff makes normal speaker wire sound like total a$$. And trust me, there is a difference.

Alright, well i saw a local add up, and look what i ended up getting! BTL N2 18" Picked it up used for $380. Looked pretty good in shape, im not going to be picky because Fi subs are very few up where i live. The only real 'damage' that i saw was the surround was a little bit frayed, but not too much. Here's a picture of it. Anyways! Im stoked. Somebody local has a Soundstream TDX2000D for sale so im pretty sure ill be picking that up to power this baby. All i need is my box design and i should be murdering my Impala.

This box is very well built if I do say so myself. I do good work I am just slow to start anything. If I ever make a cut I get down to bizzzness but if I don't I just sit around and don't do crap. Ok I've had my havocs for a week now, and now I'm just reviewing them. These monsters sounds so much better since last week, I mean they sounded awesome out the box, but now they are monsterous, and play God awefully loud and deep. These subs are amazing, and the funny thing is that I have it in a prefab box that had my Diamond audio d3's in and they sound so good and much better then the Diamond subs, I know they will sound much better in the proper enclosure. Thanks again Brian for the great customer service and great product.

Hello everyone. It`s Marcos from the U.K. The only person in Europe (as far as I know) who is using the new 15" Magnums. I hope you guys can see these photos. Last time I was on here I had difficulty in doing it. Anyway. Here goes. Starting out: It looks like a house. The baffle is in. And look what`s going in it. 4x 15" Magnums 3x 6" Aeroports. The box is 20 cu.ft. Tuning it to 27Hz. Is this O.K.? Please tell me you can see the photos?

And in the boot: . . Loads of work to do yet. Like making the canopy over the amps & TV enclosure etc. Full set of Underbody Neons being fitted on the inside of car. The box now has 5x 6" Aeroports. Tuned to 33Hz I`m really happy about this install. I can have my spare wheel back in its original place
