So I found an Orion 2500D, and its getting shipped out tomorrow... hopefully I can't really decide what to go with for the build, getting the most DB's outa what space I have... So ask the expert time.... Its a jeep cherokee, this is the space I have to work with... 43.5" in between the wheel well, 25" deep to tailgate, and 20" to top of back seat... that nets almost 13 cubes, before sub disp., port, 2x the walls...ect. if I go to 24" high, it gets to 15.5 cubes.... but would like to stay as low as possible. I would like to do 2, 18"s if possible, but feel this might be choking them... of course, Fi audio of some kind, or even the Havocs...which is fi anyway right? th…

  3. It's time for something new, and I'm thinking that I'd be better off buying a pair of more efficient, daily oriented 18's than buying a second 9518g and underpowering it with 2k each. My amp is a Memphis 4kw, and I'm looking for a pair of 18's along the lines of a Level 4 XL, Death Penaltys, Fi BLs, Nightshades... something like that. I don't compete, so I just want loud to the ear. How would these type of subs compare to a pair of 9518g's on only 2k each, and does anyone know of someone selling 1 or 2 of these 18's?

Ok what's the deal with separate chambers for running more than one sub? How crucial is it really? I really want to end up with 2 15's in my Toyota Yaris sedan. Biggest box I can get in there is 32w x 16h x 26d (outside dim.). If the subs are exactly the same and amps are gain matched it shouldn't be that bad right? I know it's not ideal, but I really want the 2 15's.

  7. So, right now I am running a 2011 RF Punch P2 12" on a RF Prime R500.1 (500 watts @ 2 ohms). This is in a 1.72 cuft enclosure tuned to 31.8 Hz via 4" aero. I have the itch to upgrade. I understand that almost anything is an upgrade haha, but I was curious if the SSA GCON 12" would be a substantial difference in volume, and SQ? I would put this in a 3 cuft box tuned to 28Hz via the 4" aero. My current setup is in a 98 grand cherokee, but it will soon be put in the trunk of either a civic or corolla. Just as any extra info so you guys can help: Goal, loudest possible SQ with this sub. What do I listen to? : Everything from Dubstep, to Classic Rock, to Metal, to Gangsta Rap.…

Overall I was wondering the pros and cons of each of the woofers. I would be putting four of them in my trunk. Sq isnt much of a priority. Which would be louder and handle more power? Im lookin to run about 1000 rms each on whatever one i get.

Hey guys, new to the forum. Curious if the Icon 15 will go back in production? I used to have an Icon 12, I had it in my shed during switching vehicles, unfortunately it ended up missing along with my whole shed during a hurricane lol I loved the sound of it. Since then Ive been running an old 2010 Fi SSD 12 I had sitting around, in a ported enclosure tuned to 32 hz. Im looking to do a little upgrade, was wondering if the 15 Icon will ever come back? Is it worth getting the Gcon 15 instead?

  13. Hello gents, So all these years I've been a sealed enclosure type of guy. I listen to bands with lots of double kick and I enjoy it being deadly accurate.. However, I did hear a ported 12" this week that has me rethinking some things. The guy played me Megadeth's "Rust in Peace" (remastered) album and the sub seemed to do pretty well keeping up with the double kick. However, how would the transient response be for even quicker metal bands? (i.e. Divine Heresy, Wintersun, Nile, etc..) Would it stay somewhat accurate? or would it turn into a more muddled response? Or... is it dependent on the frequencies of that particular kick drum(s) and/or be dependent on the band/m…

  15. Look at those lovely 17" Rims Sold on my other ones & got these instead. Front Wheel. Rear Wheel. And look what`s in the Vectras Boot On the left a Hawker Odessey PC2150 An Incriminator Audio 20.1 sort of in the middle. And don`t forget the 12" version of the 15" Stereo Integrity magnums I have in the Escort. The box is 2.5 Cu.Ft. before sub & port displacement and is tuned to 28Hz. I`ve still got to neaten a few things up. But the whole lot is not fitted permanently, everything is wedged in place as this stuff only gets fitted before it attends sounds offs etc - it takes literally minutes to fit or remove everything. It`s Nice & Loud & drops a …

  17. I have a ssa 15" xcon in a 4.0CF box tuned to 29hz in the back of my wagon. Its hooked up to a hifonics 1610d amp which is rated at 1600rms at 1-ohm at 14.4v. I want any advice for adjusting this so my sub stops bottoming out on deep songs like bass i love you. I have tried the sub-bass filter but if i turn it up anymore those deep songs lose the deep bass that it can hit fine without bottoming out. its those notes below 25hz that bottom it out, but the sub-bass filter only has a 12db slope and it lets to much in. So what do I do? I don't want to wreck my xcon.

Hey fellas. My brother called me up yesterday saying his subwoofer was making a funny buzzing noise. The woofer resides in a sealed box we made for his truck (custom console). He said that he hadn't driven his truck in about 3 weeks, and when he had driven it last it hadn't made any noises. I was there when we installed about a year ago, and it sounded wonderful actually. The woofer in question is a IA Death Row, wired to 1-ohm. Since I live a few states over, I had him take the woofer out of the box and put a meter on the coils. Both of the coils read fine as they would brand new. I told him to press on the cone to see if he could hear/feel any rubbing. He said n…

  20. Hi everyone. First time post here. Long story short, I was really into CA back in the day. Got out of it for about a decade and now I'm back into it. So, I'm thinking of purchasing a set of the Bravox CS603CF to run as front stage and a pair of the CX60CF to run in the back doors of my Mazda 6 wagon. I plan to run them passive with the midbass of the 603 set in the stock location, the tweeter in the stock a-pillar location. If possible, I plan to make some type of bridge to mount the midrange over - or possibly next to - the midbass depending on how much room I have. If none of that works then I guess I will just have to drill a hole in my door panel, but I'm hoping to a…

Hi, first off i would like to say that all suggestions are welcome and taken into account. I am looking for new speakers for a set up that i will be beginning very soon. For the speakers, i'm on a budget of around $300 dollars. I'm looking for speakers geared more towards rap/hip-hop, so something that can hit the lows well and has clear, crisp highs. Loudness is always a plus. I was thinking that a Sundown SAX-100.4D would be able to power most speakers that i would be considering but any suggestions on different amps would be appreciated. If you need anymore information just let me know. Thanks in advance.
