Subwoofers / Speakers

Currently have a 12" ICON but when getting ready to build a ported enclosure for it, the sub suffered its fate. So Im looking for a new sub to replace it. I had a custom box designed for it with 1.75cuft at 32hz. If I can still use that it would be great. Looking to power the next sub with either an Audioque 1200d or Crescendo 1500. The DSS Ethos lools great but it seems like the amps above would under power them. I loved my ICON but not sure I want to wait 1.5 months again. Suggestions would be great. Thanks!

I'm going to be mounting subs in the quarter panels of my 06 GTO. I'm looking for 10's to go in sealed boxes .7cu ft or less and no deeper then 5.25". This has been done with success by other gto owners. I'm not looking to hear the downsides of the placement. Here's a pic of where they are going. Any suggestions are welcome, I'd like to keep the price under $350 for the pair of subs.

I have a 2012 tracker fishing boat. I would like to put a very small and simple system into it. No subs probably just left and right. Amped. Bluetooth deck. Location for the speakers will be lower on the left and right side of the boat. There is actually storage boxes on both sides that run the length of the boat back. Obviously way more air space than what will be needed but they are something that stays closed. That's where speakers will more than likely go. After talking to Aaron from SSA I have made the easy decision to purchase an SSA Xcon 12" very soon. He answered all my questions helping me out a ton. My uncle ordered a four channel for his bike and gave me an arc audio mini amp ( http://www.arcaudio.com/p/ks-125-2-bx-mini# ). Does 70 RMS @ 4 ohms x 2 and 125w @ 2 ohms x 2. So now I'm looking for a good set of 5.25 component speakers. I have a 2001 Buick lesabre and that's wat size comes stock in the front doors. For substage I'm going to be running a 18" SSA Icon sealed off on approx 1000 watts. I want crisp highs and warm mid bass that will blend well with my sub stage. Looking for good suggestions on a set in the 100-150 dollar range. My uncle has all Polk components in his truck and bike and think they ssound good. Any opinions on them?

I have a single 10" xcon in a box i built under the seat of my crewcab dodge pickup, powered by a black ice 1300w D block run at 1ohm. I get decent bass out of it, but if i try to crank it up some i get a rattling sound from the woofer cone area. This is not with all my gain and bass knobs/levels maxed out either. Maybe im expecting to much from a 10? Just seems odd my 1300w amp is maxing out an xcon when not even cranked at full tilt. Ill post a video tomorrow so yall can see. Im no audio expert and dont have an audio shop around that hasnt tried blowing smoke up my a**.

I was planing to build a box that's about 1.50 cubic feet tuned to 36hz that's all I have room for. But I don't know which sub I should get Sa-12 Sa-10 E12v2. My amp should do around 750rms clean. This is for a ext cab truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased a pair back in '08 and used them for about 6 months or so and then took the box out of under my seat to make room for a hunting trip and never put it back. Going to sell them but can not remember nor find the specs on them. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm looking at putting two digital design 8's (500 or 600 series) under my back seat. My truck is a 2004 chevy ext. cab. I was told by the customer service guy at digital designs, that 8's would be better due to air space. Does anyone have a similar setup in a 2002-2006 chevy/gmc ext cab? I listened to one guys truck that had one 8 under the center console of an F-250 crew cab, it sounded good to me. I'm not looking to be heard a block away, but want something nice. Also, I was quoted $200-$225 for a custom built box at an audio store (in OKC) to hold the two 8's. Does this seem reasonable? So I currently have a 12" SSA Icon on a sundown sae 1200 in 2 cu ft enclosure tuned to 32 hz. I'm wanting to try something new and came up with the idea to recone it to an 18 and run it in a 4.5-5 cu ft sealed enclosure. I know it will have a flatter response but am I going to see a nice increase in output? I would assume because of the large cone area difference. I thought about trying a different sub but I like my icon and have always wanted to try a 18; and it'll be cheaper than purchasing a different sub. Will I be disappointed? Can anyone point out differences like pros and con's, lol. Any help is appreciated

Im planning on doing a very budget build for my santa fe. Space isnt a issue for what i want i have plenty of room. Im looking to do a build with 2 Hds200 15's and will have about 2500watts on tap & before rise & voltage drop(dont feed me the go to a different sub stuff please). I looked at the SQ website but i just gives a vague information on the enclosure sizes for the subs, also the port info is given in slot ports. Hey guys. I finally blew my alpine type R 15 after 4 years. Had my alpine mrd m1005 running to it in a sealed enclosure. It was loud and got 141.4 db at a local comp I did just for fun to see how loud I could get. Time for a new 15 to replace it. I'm wondering if anyone knows a good 15" that compares to the type r or better that will run off that 1000 rms nicely. Many of the subs I like seem to be made for ported enclosures. I'm not against ported box but can't afford to have one built right now and I always liked the sound quality from my sealed. Had one sitting for 4 years thought the motor shifted finally took it apart. The coil had hard bottomed a couple of times and put a lip on it. Any venders here make a kit? also would it be it be feasible to recone into a 18" http://fixmyspeaker.com/product/18-6-spoke-frame/ would this work? thanks.

I currently have a zapco st-4x running active with ID xs28 tweeters and xs65 mids. I am contemplating getting a zapco st-2x to run the tweeters so I can bridge the 4ch with the mids. Would it be $100 well spent for the 2ch amp or would I be spinning my wheels? Trying to improve output and impact. It sounds awesome right now, just not quite loud enough.

I have a pair of kenwood kfc-p709ps component speakers and need help with the cross over settings. The head unit i have is a eclipse cd5030 and the amp I am running the component speakers on is a jl audio 300/2v1.

I added a sa-10 in my nissan 350z and i notice i am having trouble hearing the music a little in my car with the sub turn all the way up. So i had to back down on the gain some tell the music sound better. now i am running stock component set's in my door's which i understand is the cause of my problem. My question is if i were to replace the tweeters with lets say some really nice jbl tweeter's i have would this help with my music tell i save up some money for better component set's.

I have a 06 Toyota corolla and the rear speakers are right next to each other (about 6" apart), killing the stereo effect. I was considering getting 6x9 boxes and setting them on top of the back dash so I can get the separation, but I'm pretty sure putting speakers that large in boxes that small will diminish my sound, mainly the low end, maybe kill it. Right now it has a nice punch, sounds like the drums are in the car. when I'm listening, the front has great separation, of course, but everything from the back seems to come from the center. I need advice.... Boxes? Is there sum kind of separating thing I can put on the rear deck? Just leave it?

Hello forum folks. I recently bought a pair of rockford 6.75s to throw in my rear deck of my Buick Park Avenue. Only problem I assumed they were 6.5s for which I had an adapter plate for to replace the factory 6x9s. I am willing to pay, but would anybody be able to make, preferably mdf, a 6x9 to 6.75 adapter?

i called american bass and they said to run it in a 1.25 cubic feet box with ported to like 37 hertz does that sound right to anyone ?

im wanting to get the best output out of my zcon before I build a box. im going to be running it on a bc3500 @ 1 ohm. the electrical will be good. using a singer 250 and 6 yellowtops. what my question is should I go with a bigger box around 3.5-4 cubes or a slightly smaller one because of of the power around 2.5-3 cubes. both tuned in the low 30's? any input/help would be greatly appreciated
