should i try and find someone to recone my type r 12? does any know who can do it if so?

I am looking into getting a 18" Fi Bl or Q for daily use. Just a little caught in between the two right now. Is going in a Hyundai xg300 powered by a kicker zx1500.1. my only concern is space(32w 17h 33d) those are external demolitions before displacements if i go with the bl it has to have a ported box and they tend to be bigger than regular sealed boxes. i would prefer to do this by making a deep box that takes up my whole trunk but at the same time i wont be able to slide it in easily or at all if i go with the Q i am sure i can get a sealed box made that will fit in probably with a little poly fill. Only concern with that is even with the BP power option will it …

Hey guys. Can I wire two D1's (Fi SSD's) to a final ohm load of 1? If not what are my options w/ the D1's? I know I can get a .5 (bad) or 2 (ok) w/ two D2's... Thanks

been out of the car audio loop for a while because i have been working on the new house. with some spair time and cash coming up soon i wanted to do a little work on the car. i have been able to piece together everything but the subs from stuff lying around. its all going in my beater back and fourth to work car so i am not looking to go all out. its a 97 civic 4 door that runs better than it looks. anyways...... looking for something thats pretty well rounded musically ( country, rock, hip-hop, jazz, talk radio ect... i listen to almost all of it) more than likely sealed and up to 3 cuft. i have one of the v-power alpine amps thats 300 @ 4ohm, 500 @ 2 ohm to work with…

I'm familiar with the braxial speaker system from CDT, and that's what I want for some rear fill. Are the CDT's any good? Are there other brands that have models with the same format? I'd like to have the tweeter mountable on the mid so that it all fits in the factory door spot, but I want to be able to adjust the tweeter. I almost always have to dial the tweeters down to -3db for my preferences. Hence the reason I don't just want coaxials. There's a chance I could do regular components and just put the tweeter next to the mid, but I'd like to see about this first. I'd also preferrably not like to pay the $450 that they want for the CDT HD braxials.

I'm running out of thread titles.. I'm going to be getting two Mach 5 IXL-12s, and a Orion 2500D to power the two. My truck(see sig) right now, has no head unit and it has one factory speaker that works if I remeber right. I got a replacement headunit, but.. no speakers/component setup/whatever else I can do. What should I do? should I go with 3 way speakers or whatever they are, or go with a component setup? I don't have a lot of cash on tap.. I have a Cerwin Vega Vmax 12" and am looking to build a ported box for it, but cannot find the specs! Anyone know of the specs and/or tune it to? It is the newest model, hard to find on the web. All black cone with Red Lettering, not the silver model. Thanks for any help at all!

Thanks Mark for the response on ca.com about my delimah of sub desicions.I got the maw in a rather large box.4cuftplus port of 64sq in x20 long so roughfly 5.5cuft.total. it sounds great and gets pretty loud and low.I like it a lot but always want more.I love the enclosure and am just looking to upgrade sub for more output and wiring flexibility/get to 1ohm.opinions and experience with the ixl 15 seems very very limited.Its going in an s-10 with blowthru.i had origianally bought 2 maws but only used 1 sold the other.I really like the looks of this ixl 15.whats your take on it.like i said,box may be alittle bigger than you recommend,but the maw loves it.i like the sq just …

I just sold my 15" TC-3K DVC so I'm looking for a new sub. It was in a 2.5 ft^3 sealed enclosure so I still have that box to work with. I also have a dual 12" sealed box 1.0 ft^3 per sub as well for use. The sub will be powered by my Sundown 1500D. I'm looking at the Havoc 15" to run sealed but haven't heard the sub so I'm looking for some suggestions on sub models and 1 15" vs. 2 12" subs. Looking for LSQ since with 1500 watts on tap I like to turn it up a bit. If you're wondering I got rid of the TC-3K since I have another for home theater use anyway but just want more SQ. It was a great sub but guess my ears are changing so looking for a bit more SQ than I had.

hey guys im new here and im in the process of getting a Denali XL and i want to get some serious pound put in it. i been reading around on here for a couple days and i been hearing alot of talk about the BTL's and the HDC3's both sounds very tempting but i was thinking about getting six 15" hdc's or four 18" btls....and the amp that i was looking at were two AQ3500's because they look like a chit load of power for the price. im not looking to pay no more than $3000-$3500 max on subs and amps and i want it to sound like good hard hittin quality bass so what would be my best option... OH and this just for daily beating..well mainly weekend

hey guy im thinking about buying a 1990 impala to play around with instead of having a sub infested Denali for everyday use...my dont know how much trunk space it have i can post some pic if it will help but heres what i was thinking..four sealed 15's, three ported 15's, or two 18's ported facing the trunk lid...opinions and suggestions please

Well my friend was cleaning out his garage and was throwing a bunch of stuff out. He had this Eclipse sub in some hideous box and didn't want it anymore. So I just took the sub and left the box there. He had it connected in his car for about a week and it worked, but it had a tear in the rubber surround. I think while taking it out of the box I also broke one of the terminals. Is there anything I can do to save the sub? Will I have to get a recone? I'm not exactly sure when you need to recone a sub, I searched and found a ton of threads with people needing subs reconed but I don't when it's really needed. i got confirmation from chris at db-r that my 1500d will be here this week. im going to run 1/0, and drop a yellowtop in my car sometime this month. i have several woofers: 2 old zeuz 12" 825w, 2 jl 12w0-8's (kinda useless with the saz) and one new jl10w3v3-4. i was considering throwing two more 10w3v3-4's in to run around a 1 ohm load on the three, however im aware they arent the greatest speakers. my question is this: for LSQ, in a 1995 honda accord ex cpe, running the saz1500d am i going to be pissed if i buy 2 more 10" jl's, could i fit a single 15 or 12 and get the same or more output while maintaining the sq? im trying to budget my woofers and enclosure for under …

Hello everyone, 2 Weeks ago i received my eagerly awaited mj18m sub from mach5. Now I've been thinking about the box design for quite some time now and had initially decided to go with a sealed box because I don't want the sub to take up a lot of space. But after modeling the results with winisd I noticed that with a fairly small (115 liters) ported box tuned to 28 hz I get a much higher output obviously, but also a pretty good frequency curve. So now I'm contemplating if I should go with a small ported box instead of going sealed. But since the recommended ported enclosure for the mj18m is 142 liters I wonder if going that small is smart. I was looking at getting a SS RLP 18 but I came across a good deal on one 15" REVO and would buy another. My question is are they good for a daily loud setup? I have done SPL subs in the past but want a low end monster now that is loud to the ear doesn't matter about a meter we don't have any compitions here anyway. Would they work good?

hi, i was looking at new componots and i was looking on ebay and i can get a set of diamond audio hex s600 for 200 bucks and i am wondering if anyone has anything bad to say about them. i know people are going to say go and listen to them but no one sells diamond local where i live. so i hear they sound good but that is all i hear about them.

I have already been doing some research, but am still fairly lost. I am going with a passive setup and will be using quite a few component sets and am still unsure who is really good and such. I am looking at about $300 a set roughly. As it stands now I am kinda lookin at the one of the Rockford Fosgate power comp sets to use, but I am still really unsure. Some insight would be great.

im looking to change my setup. if i go the bl route, my box cuft will be 5-5.4cuft total including port area. if i go btl route, the box will be about the same total. they will be powered by a zx2500 which in the birth certificate says 2700 (if that matters) now i want to know which will be louder. this will be for daily use in my dodge charger. i currently have 2-15" L7's sealed in a 4.2cuft box and it pounds, but i just want to change it up. plus, i have a feeling that i can get louder than it if i go the FI route. thanx im also open to other suggestions.

well i will be building these as soon as i find some coils that will do the job. after some consulting i have been informed the coils i was going to use won't be optimum with these motors. but here are some pics of what i have as of now.
