Soooo, after tons of researching and trying to figure out what I want to use in my boys truck....I think I have settled on getting 2 10" IXL's.....one question though, and I do apologize. I am very new to all of this and usually pay someone to just do all my stuff, but this time I will be building the box and such, which I can figure out. My question is power, at the moment I have a RF10001...1000 watts at 1 Ohm, will this be enough to push these subs or do I need something better/bigger? I would love to stay with just this for power reasons, but I will do what I have to obviously...may just have to get a bigger underhood battery and alt, which I am trying to avoid. The…

Im in the market for a single 15, and I noticed the EVIL can take 3250 watts. I have an amp that pairs up with that perfectly. How do these sound? All of the vids I've seen make these seem pretty amazing. Has anyone experimented with box sizes for these?

I currently have a 5" focal mid range in the front doors, two soundstream tws.4 on the front dash. in the rear is a rockford fosgate prime component set with the woofers on the rear deck and tweeters on the top of the rear window. I'm not pleased with how the front sounds so I need something better up there. I have a four channel amp that does about 75 each channel and a two channel that does 125 each channel. I was thinking something along the lines of a midbass and new tweeter in the front, then possible using the focal mids and tws.4 tweeters for the rear. hi i currently blew my diamond audio hex tweeters and am now looking for a new set of tweets.\ i want to stay under 150. i can supply a total of 300 rms if necessary. i want ones that come with crossovers too. thanks

I was looking for some ppls 2 cents on a set up choice. the setup will be a 12" RE SE in a 3cu ft. box @ 33 hz powerd by a kicker 400.1 Just wondering if this will be a good combo. Its goin in the back of a f-150 by the way. Looking for good lows while not sounding like poop. I have had the sub for a lil bit now but am finaly putting it back in my car, last time it was in a 2cu foot box @ 34hz and only got about 200 rms. Hoping by adding more power and a bigger box it will sound better. Thanks

I bought them mainly because I like my Infinity home set up, and the fact they are both 2ohm so they wouldnt require any special wireing to get the most out of my amp. I'll probably get flamed for this question, but here goes. I'll be purchasing a new sub in July and am having some trouble making a decision. I had originally planned on using the current box I have (1.21 cubes sealed) and getting either a SA-12 or Level 3 12" (the cutout is only 11" and those two are about the only ones I've found that will fit). But I've been doing some thinking about it and have come up with another idea. Getting a cheaper sub like a 10" DCON or a SA-8, and getting a really nice ported box built for it (I'm thinking Argent Audio). So I am a noob here but have done my best to gather all the facts for others to help me with my predicament. I recently pulled out my Boston Acoustics SPZ60's to install that I bought from my bro and found that one of the tweets and coaxial mounts were missing. We both looked around to no avail and now I'm left with buying new tweets and making a component style setup instead of the coax setup I wanted. I have access to Clio sound testing equipment and tested the mid. It operates between 100-2k hz. I have an old JL enclosure that had 2 10" w3s. These are the first w3s from the late 90's early 2000 that only handled 250 watts per sub. Those subs required about .60-.90 cubic feet (litres) The enclosure was a prowedge. These are the dimensions: 32.25 x 14.5 x 12.75. The enclosure is sealed with a divider in between the subs. I wanted to use the enclosure and put some other subs instead of JL. So given the dimensions of the enclosure, can anyone recommend which SSA subs would be perfect for that enclosure? Or even any other subs out there? As far as cost and power, Im willing to work with what ever. Thanks

just ordered a kx550.3 and i need some suggestions on a sub. if the maw's were still in production , id snag one up , but i decided to downsize too late. so i need some suggestions for a 12" that will work well in both sealed and ported enclosures being fed 350-400wrms @ 2 ohm that will get decently loud and not sound like poop. budget is around $100 but ill spend a bit more if i have to get something quality. i was looking at the RE SR , but i really couldnt find enough reviews on them. thanks in advance.

I had two Pioneer Championship PRO (TS-W3003D4) 12" subs (600watt RMS each) on a Hifonics Zeus 1200 watt amp wired at 1 Ohm in my 02 Tahoe. It was pretty powerful, but I still would like a little more punch in the chest, so I'm now thinking about maybe going with 3 Kicker Comp-VRs and a better amp, OR maybe if there are more powerful 12"s with the right amp combination. I'm at a point where I'm ready to take this seriously now. What brands or whatnot would I need?

In our roto-xmas draw names, I drew my sis and bro-in-law. We cap our spending at $100, but I will break it a bit if logical. They have a 20 Sea Ray runabout and are putting a stereo in it before summer. I have an old Pioneer amp that is about 90x2 at 2ohm that I don't want and will give them, but would like to buy a subwoofer to go with it. Being it is a 2chn, DVC would be great. Since it won't have tons of power a fairly effecient driver would be great, space is fairly minimal so something that works well in a small ported box would be ideal. What would you guys do?

I'm looking for replacements for the Tang Bands (see sig)....recently blew one The TBs were decent but I would like to upgrade a little. Prefer a smooth laid back sound..definitely do not like overly bright spitty sounding tweets. Setup is active with alot of tuning ability. I have read alot of good things about Seas Neos and Rainbows (can't remember model). Would either of these be a good match with my DLS mids? Also please list a source if you can. Thanks.

Found a helluva deal on ScanSpeak D2904/6000-01. Check out their prices at Madisound then go to www.pacparts.com. Click on Consumer Electronics and do a parts search for Alpine Model Number SPXF17T. It will pull up a page with all the parts associated with the sets and you will see the part number D2904/600001. It is the raw tweeter of the set sourced from ScanSpeak and guess which model they picked? It is the same exact specs wise. I used to pair it up with a FI BL 18" but since I bought a new car, a 240sx, I must now think smaller. Im thinking two SSD's to be paired with the 1500D but im not looking forward to the hassle and the wait of shipping into Canada (Vancouver).
