Well, I am looking to make myself a home sub to augment my Bowers and Wilkins DM603 S3 towers bottom end. I am looking at the BM 12" and was wondering how well it would work in a home environment, what size enclosure and whether it should be ported or sealed. Also, I just wonder when these will be available for purchase as I assume you approved the new design since its up on your site.

I just made a deal on a PPI PC2350 (thanks tirefryr for the heads up) and am going to build a new box for my mag to go with it. Right now my 15 is in a 2 cuft sealed box and I can hear that I need it in a little bigger of a box to get lower. Would 3 cuft be too much sealed? I can't wait to hear how this baby sounds with 1400 watts being thrown at it.

So in the next month i will be starting a new box build. I am kind of good at this stuff but always look for others advice. So the new build will be for 2 Fi sp4 18" fully loaded subs. 1 Crescendo Audio bc5500d and 3 xs power xp3000 batts. Still have to find some one that makes an upgraded alt for my car(2004 Hyundai Elantra gt HB) that does not cost an arm and a leg. I will be removing the back seat building a large box and then walling around it the box size is going to be 48"w x 36"h x 30"d. Will be 1.5in thick with at 2.5in front plate. From what i came up with(been a while since i made a box) was a box that will have 15.98 cuft after porting. The port is 7in tall and…

Hello guys, greetings from Romania I need some opinions with a new box for a sundown audio sa12. I'm currently running the sub in a sealed enclosure (1.3ft³), on audio que 2200d at 4 ohm, until it will loosen up a little bit to handle 1000-1500w at 1 ohm. I whant to add that I own a sedan car, and thinking to put the sub up close to the port. So, any ideas, suggestions? Any response will be greatly appreciated.

Whats going on guys? Building a new box for my 2 12" L5's and i'm curious about the tuning i should go with. I will have a removable port in the center. The main port will be for SPL. What would be the optimal SPL tuning frequency for a Grand Prix? The box is in the trunk facing the back of the car. I was going to just go with 40hz, but thought i'd get some input from you guys. I have no idea what the resonant frequency of my car would be... maybe someone can venture a close guess. The port that will slide in is for SQ to change the tuning to around 29-30hz Thanks guys!

so after reading some I need to build a slightly bigger box for my Mag 15. It's home now is a 2.03 cuft sealed box. From what I read, I need it to be about 2.4 cuft. Or should I go slightly bigger? what will I gain from the bigger box??? someone said it will be more efficient, what does that necassarily mean??? also, I am going to build it and integrate an amp rack of some sort, nothing too extravegant. anyone have any ideas??? something simple, it is for a 2002 Altima if that helps. tirefryr.... there is a BLACK a404 on ebay right now. How's that a1200 doing you?

So I want to do a new build with ssa subs. Current set up is a skar 1500 and a havoc 15 in 3.5 @ 33 hz. It don't not have to be louder than this just looking for some thing different. I have about 8 cubes of space. I'm border line for stock electrical but do have a xs2400 on the way. Goals are daily but I would like a pretty flat response like killing the lows. Maybe 2 15 dcons amp turned down of course or a xcon 18.

So I am starting a new build and really cant make up my mind on the subs. Its not as much a "which sub problem" as much as it is the enclosure, I dont have experience with either so that is why Im asking for advice. Please keep in mind I have a 2003 maxima. So the dp would have to be sub up port forward with the rest of the trunk space walled off. While the 12's can be sub and port forward with the trunk walled off. My goal is spl, and I have the electrical to back either design. I know cone area is usually a good thing to go by for spl, but I really dont know how much of a difference the enclosures will make to spl or sq. Also keep in mind my current set up is 3 10'…

looking at revamping my current build in the next few months. im gonna wall off the truck and have about 8-10 cu ft to play with for volume after the port. ive been looking at doing several different driver combos such as 8 10s or 2 18s but open to any other combos people have in mind. gonna keep running the 3500d v2 i have now. i wanna stay around the $1k or subs, and i want to tune around 33hz. going to be a daily driver with some competition use. ive been looking at IA DPs, NSv2s, Zv4s, PSI platform 3s, fully loaded FI BLs,and AA mayhems for 2 18 combinations. i dont think i really have enough space for xcons/zcons. havent seen much in the 10s area i wanna run yet.

Hey everyone, I'm planning on starting my build on my wife's car throughout the summer and want to build a SQ system in her car. This is what I have to work with. I'm skilled in carpentry and know a bit a bout fiberglassing. I'll try and post some pics later to get a visual about the build. FRONT 3-4" front speakers deep into the windshiled (you know the kind) 6.5" door pod openings There is room for a tweet mount above the 6.5". Rear Door 6.5" door pod opening. I could also find a stealthy place for a tweet here also. Rear Deck 6x9" opening I was thinking of installing AA POLY's in the 6.5 openings in the front and rear doors. As far a tweeters, I'm open to suggestions. …

Ok so im really wanting to build a system that will play the lowest of notes loud, I currently have 4 21`s, well 2 wardens and 4 ddp's, but its really hard to get all that cone area in a wall, well at least with the 4, plus I snapped two of the neck joints on the dp's do to mechanical stress on the lows. Ive been leaning towards 6 fi sp4 18's, 6 ssa evil 18's, or 8 sundown x 15's, but im havin a real hard time deciding what to use, as well as what box I should go for such as do I want 4th, 6t, or just ported. I need some insight from someone who has a system that plays brutal lows, around 20hz. Any insight would be great. I got 2 jbl crowns for power so they should be ade…

I listen to a wide variety of music ranging from house, deep house, electronic, metal, alternative, rap/hip-hop. Vehicle is a 2003 honda civic coupe.. sub in the trunk. Stock electrical. I have a friend with dual Kicker L5s running at 1000 watts total with his factory Durango infinity audio system..I'd like more output and more sound quality than that. The entire car has already been deadened with Edead in the trunk and front doors. I will never be competing in any competitions, but I would like accurate musical reproduction with a bonus of great output. Ideally my budget would be < $1000 for sub/amp/front stage, whether it be 1 sub or 2.. and remember I've already got…

I recently bought a 2010 GMC Sierra Crew Cab My situation: Ive already installed an Alpine IVE-535HD DVD receiver, 2 sets of Kicker RS Components, a Kicker IX500.4 amp. I have a Sundown 1200 mono amp that has been installed also and will be building an enclosure and buying subs next weekend. My issue is I am torn on what config to go with... Option 1 - (2) Sundown SA-8's in a 1.5cf, front firing, side ported enclosure under the seat tuned to 30-32hz. Option 2 - (4) Infinity Reference 860w 8's in a front firing, front ported enclosure under the seat tuned to 32hz My main objective is to grab the lows into the mid 20's with authority. Has anyone had experience in a …

Hello guys, I am still waiting for my amp kit and my dash kit for the head unit. But I'm thinking about my future install. I' will run a Pioneer x5600bt and 2 IA amps : a 3.4 on my focal KP 165 and a 20.1 on my 15" zcon sub. I'd like to try an active setup this time. Do you think it is worth trying with my current mids and tweeters ? I know I would need a processor to do so. As I don't want to break the bank, I'll look into the mini dsp you all talk about. My installer will build solid baffles for the speakers, and the tweeters will sit next to the mids. There is no stock place for the tweeters. I am planning to buy some products from sounddeadenershowdown.com later…

I recently got a 2006 Pontiac G6 and I want to carry over most of my curent system. i.e. HU, Maw-15's. But the G6 comes with 6.5's in the doors and 6x9's on the back deck. Which opens up all kinds of possibilities since my last car only had 6x8s all the way around. My question is. What speakers will be good to have? I seen the Mach 5 6.5s but I really would like to keep the speakers the same brand. So What Speakers are a good choice. My Budget is Probably about $200. Thanks in advance. here are the speaker specs again Front = 6.5 Rear = 6x9 ~MadroX

I got a new car last year and was not going to put a sub in this car because I don't want to loose the room but I can't take it anymore so it time to find the right sub. I have a Phoenix Gold Xenon 600.1 to run what ever sub I get. so I have 600-800 wrms to give it. I want to run 1 10" sub sealed in a small box say .5- to may be 1 foot. I have had PG subs in the past and liked them a lot. I tried a RE SE12 a few years back RPLI12 and 8s. I had the 12 ported and they did get low but for some reason I like 10s better so I ened up with 2 PG rsd 10s in my last car. I listen to all kinds of music. So I see SSA has a new sub coming out soon so I was thinking about the GCON a S…

Hi guys, this will be long...lol...bear with me. I just bought a 97 Tahoe (4dr 4x4) and am wanting to put a new system in it. So far I have just a HU (Pioneer DEH-80PRS) and the amp for my mids/highs (MB Quart RM440.4). I'll have to wait until I get home (I'm in Afghanistan for another week) to get speakers as I don't know sizes and have gotten conflicting info online... Also, planned on doing the big 3 when I get home too... For the sub amp I was planning on using a Hifonics Brutus BRX2000.1D (or equivalent, or possibly a little more power, trying to stay below $300 for it). I'm very conflicted on the sub though... I'm thinking I only want to run 1 sub (2 isn't co…
