I finally built my box ! (4 sq. ft vented to 28 hz) and 1500 brutus for the 15" SI. Problem is....I NEED THE SUB NOW! Whats the deal SI!! its the middle of june!

Okay, so I have a RE SX, I have had it for a year now and I am kinda getting sick of it. So, I was wondering. What kind of difference would it make going to a DC Level 4? I will be running 1000 watts to it. Would I be happier? I like good, loud, clean bass.. but who doesn't?

I haven't bought this sub yet but, i do plan on buying a 15" mag and plan on having a JL 500/1 feeding it. I really don't want to go over $1,000 and still have a bad ass system. I might even save up for the JL 1000/1 but its a bit more than i want to spend. I am shooting for SQ and still want low's. I'm guessing 3^3 seal box will have slightly better lows than 2.5^3? This install is going into a Crown Victoria 89'. So i got plenty of trunk space to deal with. Also curious how loud this speaker would get with just a JL 500/1 feeding it instead of having a JL 1000/1.

After I get moved into my new house, and have some cash again. I'd like to get a sub back in my truck. I've been waiting for the Audiomobile's to pop up, but I'm not sure when they will be available and may actually cost more than I want to spend, since the AE X's will probably never be around again, I'm trying not to spend more than 300 on a 12/15, but I will if the right sub comes along. I'm hoping you guys can help point me in the direction of a sub. I have some specs in mind that seem to be what I'm looking for or close too. Quick question, what are the effects of a midbass/range driver missing its dustcap? Recently I dented my cone and tried to fix it but ended up with a speaker with no dustcap attached, no other damage to speaker whatsoever. Its a cheap driver so I can replace it but thought I would ask before purchasing another one. Thanks

sounds dumb i know... but what would be louder? 2 15" Kicker L7's or 1 18" BTL. im working with very little space and all being stuck with strict parents who want the spare tire to stay in the trunk of my jimmy so i have about 6.5 cubes at most. thats barely enough for either selection. either way i go i will make sure they have a good amp going to it and sufficent electrical. im just currious for what i have to work with, what would bang harder. im going with a ported box obviously. i REALLY want a BTL after seeing the amount of output these things do. i like my L7's aswell. im just curious and kind of new to this. I like being able to comfortably fit two golf bags & pull carts in my trunk. A free air install in the rear deck would allow me to retain the vast majority of my cavernous trunk. Having only played with the idea in a large enough wall enclosure that it may as well have been free-air, I'd like to hear experiences. It wouldn't be a huge loss to tuck a 1.5' box in the trunk, so if infinite baffle is more trouble then it's worth, please say so. Well after running my 15" mag for a while I noticed recently that it seemed like it was running out of juice when I'd turn it up. It was like it wanted to get louder but couldn't. My lights at night seemed to dim really bad. Then a few days ago I go to turn my car on and the battery is almost completely dead and the engine won't turn over. I didn't leave any electrical on overnight. I got a jump and the battery seemed to work to start the car two more times that day but I left my stereo off so there was no strain on the electrical system. I lifted the battery out to replace it and there was a large puddle of battery acid in the battery tray. I had to use all kinds …

Install is temp, just waiting to get a new truck. System is a kicker zx1500.1 pushing the two Mag 15's in a 5.2cf sealed box and a Mtx 2300xw pushing my kicker comps that are in the doors. Deck is a Alpine 9835 and a AC Four.1. Box will be ported when system goes in new box.

OK guys here's the question, will it be a big difference on the meter and by ear going from 4x RE SX 12" (powered by 2x USAmps MD-3D in an 7 ft^3 tuned at 34Hz) to 4x RE MT 12" in the same box and tuning but power by (4x MD-3D thus one Amp per MT's) I assume the MT is similar to the BTL's and they recommend 1.75ft^3 per 12" BTL drivers, so it will work ok. Will you notice a Big difference in loudness, and is it worth it the change? and how about to 4x FI BTL 12" in the same box and the 4x MD-3D? Anyways, thanks. Aruman

I'm trying to decide If I should go with one SAZ-4500D or two 3500D's to power (2) 18" FI BTL's fully loaded. I had my mind pretty set on the saz-4500D, but Ive read that plenty of guys are running the fully loaded btl's way over 3k each so I dont think that the saz-4500D could get the most out of the two btl's running at normal volts of 12.8-14.5 So what amp do you guys think i should go with or whats the better idea? alright, so somehow the basket on my ns just broke like a 3" long peice off, only thing that is holding it on is the surround that is stuck to it. i googled how to do a recone and found this. [How To] Build or recone a speaker - Realm of Excursion i used a search on here and didnt find anything so i figured i would post this up for peoples information. if this is against the rules then by all means delete it. im not sure how that works. hope this helps somebody as much as its going to help me.

I want to upgrade my front stage in my Durango. I was to fiberglass my doors to hold a woofer (maybe 7-8"), midbass (4-5"), and tweeter. Looking at the Goldwood brand? Any other suggestions? This will be an active setup with a seperate amp to power each different set of speakers (1 for woofers, 1 for midbass, 1 for tweeters)

well im looking to go 3 way in the next couple of months and i think i have found my system. this is going in my jeep hu- clariondxz785usb amps- sundown 100.2 and 100.4 speakers(this is where I need opinions) tweets- seas prestige 27tffnc/g midrange- Eminence alpha-6a midbass- peerless nomex 8" plan on having midbass in door sealed and midrange and tweets in kicks. Does any one have any objections to this setup. and will these speakers work good together

what do you think about the kicker cvx 15"s?? personally how good do they pick up the lower frequencies?? and also are there any better subs in the same price range?if so what are they? Thanks fellas

Its getting closer to that time, where the monies is almost ready for installation I ran a search, but didn't find anything. I figured its because they're spl subs, but what would you recommend for this bad boys on a daily setup. Thanks mark and anybody else that contributes.

i want to get louder but im on a budget, so someone told me that i could recone my 15" Fi SSD to an 18".... how hard is this to do or am i required to send it off and get it changed? Iv never done this before so all information and recommendations is helpful Also, what difference in loudness would i notice the box will be 6 cubes at 32Hz. in advance, Thanks
