Hey guys, Recently I asked you guys about building a ported box for my MAW12. Unfortunatly the box is still in the production stages but as a temporary solution I put it in a ~35L box I already have and wow! It sounds so nice and hits every note with a lot of definition. I was previously running a Phoenix Gold Xenon sub but I actually prefer the sound of the MAW so much more. The only real complaint is SPL wise I would like a little more out of the sub. I'm running it with a Zapco 500.1 which is conservativly rated at 500W into 2 Ohms (although the birthsheet indicates much more) so I don't think power is an issue and I can push the sub to its limits. I've always been a f…

Would it be ok to temporarily run my bl 15 (dual 2) on one voice coil at 2 ohms from a kicker 300.1 until i get my t10001bd. or will this blow the sub from lack of power.

I thought I`d put up some scores from different sub set ups which I have tested in my standard 2.5 Cu.ft. box - 4" Aeroport tuning to 27Hz with 1x Directed 1100d amp. As the title states... Im looking for the recommended box sizes for the subs (both sealed and ported). The place where they should be listed on Sundown's website are all blank. Tried searching as well... but no luck. I at least found the displacement on the 10" is .25 Thanks in advance for your help fellaz!

First off, I'd like to thank Nick Lemons of Stereo Integrity for giving me the opportunity to demo this driver. Having listened to the previous generation of BM's, I was curious as to what the new ones would do. Just to get it out of the way, I did this review for free, I'm not being given anything...the driver in question's going back to North Carolina as soon as I finish writing this First thoughts: When I received the BM, it was packaged in an almost identical fashion to my e12a.22 - a simple but effective cardboard frame, with the speaker itself wrapped in plastic. No damage was sustained in transit, it arrived perfectly. On first inspection, the biggest cosmetic dif…

I am going to build a fiberglass box that fits under my rear seats. I can fit 10s or 12s. I will probably have 2cubic feet before port and sub displacement. I was thinking of doing 2 mach 5 ixl 10s ported, or 2 diamond d6s. i currently have a 10w3 sealed powered by a 500w alpine and its not cutting it. Im looking for subs that get really loud but still sound good. I mostly listen to rap but would like something that sounds decent on all types of music. any suggestions? its going in an 03 ram quadcab. thanks.

I'm guessing it is vehicle dependent, but when you all are trying to plan out your enclosures. How do you all map out your graph on winisd if you even look at that. Say I was trying to build a box for my xcon that is not here yet and I wanted to build a box that was great for metal, but I still wanted a bump in the low end. What would your graphs look like, sealed or ported?

I just installed my maw-15's. And they sound great. But I know alot of you say i must break them in. How long will that take? And how would you recommend breaking em in? I usually just play at half volume, but once in a while turn it up about max then turn it down after a few seconds. I do this for about a week and then start giving the sub alot of power constantly. I get carried away sometimes and just want to give the subs max power. I have a problem lol. will giving it a good amount of power once in a while, damage the future performance of the sub? Any tips on breaking in? And is the after math after breaking them in really that dramatic? And anyone wondering if they …

I've had my Dcon 10 d4 for about 3 years and I love it. First was a ported box at 33hz. Very impressive, sounded like 2 12's but I wanted more sq so I built a sealed box. Still impressive volume, much better sq for my type of music (pop) but I kinda want more... If course lol. I would love to find a used sub to match this one, the older version. My amp is 1 ohm stable. I would just need to build a new box and I'd have the volume I want without sacrificing sq. I have looked but not had any luck yet. But is there another option with a ported box? Maybe tuned to a different frequency that would get more volume but better sq than before at 33hz? All t…

I'm looking for 6x8s to run off the factory head unit in my 2012 Escape XLT. Factory stereo, no nav, no sync. I read on another site that the Infinity Kappa speakers sound better than stock ones off of head unit power. To me the stock speakers sound good, but I'd like it louder and to have better bass response. I found the Kappas for 75$ a pair shipped, so 150$ for all four. So I'm looking for anything better than those within the same price range, or a confirmation of those being good. Could also run comps, if they could sound good of the hu. And on a side note, anyone know the output power of that hu? I'm guessing under 20 watts.

Im bout to buy 2x 18" RD Audio Alpha V.2 subs from someone on here.... I was wondering if anyone knew the recommended airspace for each sub, and the best tuning frequency for these subs as well.... as of now, I have a box designed for both at 13 ft3 after port displacement and drivers and crap with a port space of 177 square inches and 20" long tuned to 34hz.... so basically im giving each sub around 6.5 ft3 tuned to 34hz ..... to me, this seems good, but I was wondering if anyone on here has played with these subs and if you could give me your opinion on the best box to run these things in? RDAudio.net doesn't have the box recommendations up yet... sooooo help please....…

I got a question, everyone says that playing a subwoofer below the port tune will cause the subwoofer to be unloaded, and with too much watts it will "bottom out" is this unloading the subwoofer basically becoming a sealed box with a 4", 5",3" etc hole in it (loss of major amount of bass) , or the unloading making the subwoofer box be like an infinite baffle, decreasing power handling, but increasing efficiency? if it is infinite baffle, would it have a similar 6db/octave (i think this is close) roll off instead of a usual sealed boxes 12db/octave
