I recently bought a 99 ext cab chevy silverado. I am going to buy a pre fab box since i dont have the time or the resources to build a box. The box will be a downfiring underseat sealed box with 2 chambers with .92 cubes per sub, and a mounting depth of 7". The holes can be cut for round or square subs. I will be listening to rap, rock, and country. I need advice on a good subs/amp combo for this box and truck. My budget would be around $800 for the subs and amp.

  5. Hello all. Hope you`re all doing fine I strill haven`t had a chance to alter the Escort install. But I have been messing about with my vectras boot install. Check this out: See this weird box... 6th Order bandpass or simply a tunnel in a boot. This box is far better than any box I have ever made It plays low. It plays loud. It plays a very wide musical frequency with accuracy and is practically flat in it`s overall frequency response. O.K. The system specs. Vectra Sri - Boot System. 1x HMM Box- That`s what I`m calling it - After the ideas from a guy called Henry & Mazdawg & Me making the thing to see what happens. 1x SPLd S-1200d (1200wrms @ 1ohm) 2x Brand n…

Got a new vehicle, so its time to upgrade the sound system. Vechicle is a BMW 750i. The stock Logic7 system sounds better than I excpected, but the "subwoofers" under the front seats seem to be more like mid-woofers. I listen to mostly rap and R&B. I was thinking a single 12 or a couple of 10's sealed, but I'm open to suggestions. I'm also not brand biased....I'm just looking to get away from mainstream subs. I'm not building an SQ system or anthing, but I want a balanced sounding system. My goals: 1. Add some low end punch to complement the mids and highs without overpowering them. 2. Maintain some usable trunk space 3. Not destroy my car....(last system …

Does anyone have a list of good manufacturers that produce an XBL^2 driver? Specifically looking for Subwoofers, but mids and midbasses interest me too. I've found one manu, but I can't find them again. Their prices were good, but I wonder about quality. Thanks

  10. OK folks. I am getting ready to drop a sizeable order with my freinds at Powerbass, but am wondering if anyone that has used the XS subs, & swapped to the XXXL subs, what they thought of the change. I have a customer that I did 2 XS15's, & wants to try the XXXL's, & I don't want him to spend the $$ & not get as much outta them....so let me know what y'all think....please no lip service, if they are better great, if not please be honest...as we are talking about $800 of this guys money (I would be selling him the XXXL for $400 each)

Im hoping some of you music wizards can help me with another system. I have a crew cab Silverado and I want a bad ass daily system. I don't want to take my back seats completely out, if I can help it I want an enclosure that I can slide if I needed to. I'm not trying to spend $$$$$$$ on a system. With that being said the amps that I can't seem to take my attention off of is the Saz3500 v2, fosgate t2500.1bdcp, and saz2500 v2, and I still have my saz3500 v1 that works perfect. My budget is $1000 for subs. I have about 7.8 cubes to work with. As far as the type of enclosure and tuning...it really dosent matter. I just want a ground pounder that digs deep and sound good

No, you did not read that incorrectly... it says 302. Today I built the final incarnation of the SI 302 crossover, Nick and I are both very happy with the result. The set uses a 7" poly-cone midrange driver (5 7/8" cut-out) and a textile dome tweeter. Some key features: - Designed for OFF-AXIS mid installation (door install) - Extremely strong midbass (50 - 63Hz X-over is no problem at all) - High power handling for an entry level set, rating pending * They are taking ALOT more abuse than my old XR set... I destroyed an XR mid in my car. Crossovers: 15-gauge inductors (massive) Low Tolerance Audio-Grade Resistors in Attenuation network Hand-picked combination of Metal Fil…

I have a 2003 dodge ram im looking to put a setup in under the back seat. I will be building a fiberglass sealed box conformed to the underseat area shape. It will net me a minimum of 1.75ft3. Im just looking for hard hitting bass, no top of the line setup. Budget for the subs is around $300+-, i would imagine 2 10's would probably be my best route? I just went around to all the shops here in town for different opinions. I know Kicker is normally frowned upon, but a few places suggested the new Comp R 10's and a cx1200.1. I cant seem to find much info on the new subs, i was told these new subs are from a better sound engineer kicker hired recently but it could be BS for a…

  16. Hey Guys, I've spent an hour or so on the Forum looking for specific on optimum wiring for my single GCON 12" I've have two amps here at the house: Diamond Audio D600.1 Mono block 275W x 1 @ 4-Ohms450W x 1 @ 2-Ohms600W x 1 @ 1-Ohm OR Boston Acoustics GTA-500M Channels Mono Bridgeable Not Bridgable RMS Power at 2 Ohms 500 W x 1 RMS Power at 4 Ohms 300 W x 1 1. Which one would you use and how would you wire it? It's going in a sealed 1.4 cu ft box, I'm more about clean and crisp.... Can a Jedi kick down some layman's terms??? So very appreciated.

What is the difference. Everybody is writing about it. I have a pair of Focal 165 vrs and a pair of 130cvx's in stock locations running with a sax 100.4 so what would be the difference between active and passive. I haven't gotten them installed yet but next week they will be so.

Well i bit the bullet and im buying used CD player. Eclipse 3400. while insalling my IS2080 i found my surounds on my RE mids where comming unglued and the coens where dry rotting. IE poor build quality though they sound great. one of the cones has actually begun to split with the extra power. So im going to have to get new mids, im planning on eventualyl going active so i'd like a good pair of 6.5's that have strong midbass, around 100w RMS or less, work well IB or sealed, and would integrate with me RE tweeters and overs for the time being.
