I have been running my IA Death Row 12 for about 4 months now. It is in a 2.1 cu ft box tuned to about 30 hz. I like how it sounds and like its output. I recently took a trip home (7 hrs) with my car loaded and thought what if I had to change a tire. I wouldn't be able to get my spare out without taking the box out. My backseat was also full of stuff and would have had to set the box out in the snow. I have been thinking about running two tens that work really well in small boxes. I have heard the Dayton subs and really like how they sound. Very clean and detailed bass. My only thing is that I do not want to lose much output by removing my Death Row for something…

I've learned the advantage of kicks are the ability to even the amount of space between your ears and the speaker, help with midbass response from being sealed, and help with aiming and imaging. But i've heard that most speakers were made for IB use and some companys like rainbow don't reccommend sealed enclosures. And could a headunit with time alignment solve the problem of the driver distance? The reason i ask is because i want to put some woofers into my door to cover from 80hz~800hz and want to know would it be a GREAT advantage to put them in kicks if i got a pair with good off axis response, and had time alignment. Would i still get a lot more midbass from a sealed…

So i have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe. My enclosure is around 3.9 cubes net at 30hz, i know its mall (mostly port... I had an Fi Q 15" dual 1 on a Soundstream Dtr 1.3400 (3400 rms @ .5 ohm/ 2200 @ 1) and metered 146.7@45hz. I got a second Q and did 148.1 wired at .25 ohm @45hz. I later dropped a BTL 18" dual 2 in the same box and now i meter 145.8 @48hz on 2200 rms. But the 18" sounds extrmely louder than the 2 Q's.. But i would expect it from a lower peak freq.? The Tahoe flexes alot more but wouldnt that make of a lower peak? Any input on this is apreciated. Thanks

Well...Yesterday I decided to stop being lazy and shove it all in the car...Everything is wired up and playing except the 8's in the doors.... After 3 hours of listening...here are my thoughts on some things.... Max Fidelity Tweets If anyone is looking to do a DIY setup, I'd STRONGLY recommend these. They are a small format (4 OHM!) neo tweet that is swivel mounted for adjust staging/aiming. I've had to tweak the driver side just a tad to bring the stage up, but that is because the driver's legs/steering wheel prohibit this. These things are are smack dab in the middle between a "laid back" silk tweet and a cut your ears off "bright" tweet. Excellent detail from …

Was honestly curious how the xcons line up with the fi q's. I always hear great things about both, was just looking for input on how they compare from someone who knows more than me. Which I imagine is about anyone here. Thanks in advance!

So i had 2 l7 12s under my back seat... it was weak... so i took the backseat out and i told my buddy brian to build me a box (brian owns and manages evolutiuons car audio Lone Grove, OK) but anyways, i was expecting a huge box, instead he said 2 ported boxes at 3.3 cub would create the loudest setup at all possibilities. ill be pushing the l7s with a kicker 1500.1 zx. how loud am i looking? as far as DB wise... and was his plan correct??

So I just bought an Alpine Type-R 12" sub (dual 4 ohms). I had it wired at 4 ohms initially, because I was trying to "break it in" like I was told over and over. I wired it down to 2 ohms after a few weeks to get the full power, and after a few days, it took a shit. I'm not quite sure why. The wiring was done professionally too. My amp (Alpine MRP M500), is essentially perfect for the sub, and the box was 1.94 cubes (recommended is 1.0 - 2.0). I don't know what happened. So if anyone might have an idea why, I'd GREATLY appreciate it. This was my first sub; I'm 16, and I can't go out and buy a new one whenever I like. And this is off topic, but it's a big concern as well…

What’s up guys I’m sitting at checkout w/ Two SSA Zcon 18’s and needed some help w/ their impedance options... I’m choosing to go with the Standard Dual 2’s and wondering if anybody knew what the standard 2’s will actually read on a DMM before rise? Only asking because I know SSA’s standard dual 1’s actually read 0.7... So I’m assuming the dual 2’s actually read 1.7 right? ...Help meh please lol

So, I was browsing around on Parts Express, and found these.... http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=296-220 ...I am sure from the $170 (each) price tag they are some amazing little drivers, but still the specs amazed me...12 mm Xmax and supposedly flat response from 40-20000 Hz...in a 3" driver...CRAZY!

Well, this is my first post here, and I didn't see anything on audioque over here, so I figured I'd share my experience. I just got my LW8 last week, and built the box DJ recommended for me, albeit a little lower tuning than recomended. First impressions running off 350ish wats from the bazooka amp is impressive. This little 8 (weighs about 15lbs) can really move some air. And it sounds good too, I was surprised but this sub is fast but low and not too punchy. Even with just one (i've got another on the way) it shakes everything in my car and everyone thinks i've got a 12" sub back there. Well, if you guys got any other questions give me a shot, and i'll answer asap…

hi everyone, i want to upgrade my current subs into something with more SPL, and SQ if possible OVERVIEW: -2 12" pioneer ts-W308D4 rated 400 wrms per-sub -Hifonics BXI-1210D, 1 ohm load to subs, so subs are seeing 1200 wrms, 600 wrms per sub -both subs are in a ported box that looks like this Dual ported sub box so which set of subs should i get that can actually take 600 wrms per sub? Starting from budget subs to higher grade? if i bought 2 kicker 08 CVR 15" to use for my amp, would my setup be louder and deeper than my 2 12"s? thanks for the feedback everyone

Hey all, a few questions before I buy one off Dave (troublestarter). 1. How will this sub sound in 3cuft tuned to 33hz ? 2. Will it sound good off 800wrms class a/b ? Is that enough power ? 3. Do they do them in D2 flavour ? Im looking for something that will do around 135db on a TL or better, but also great sq for my ambient electronica when I turn the subwoofer level down to around 3 on the P77MP. So basically a jack of all trades. I wanted a level 4 however I dont have enough power for one, and dont want to clip it or change to dirty class D power! Thanks
