Hey guys i'm looking for a set of components. With the $500 im playin around with, I figure I can buy a new sub amp, probobally a viper 1200.1 for my subs. I will use my 300 wRMS x2 amp to power some components, which seems like a lot but i think I could get by with gains set low. do u guys think thats safe? anyway my budget for comps is less than $200. I will be installing the mids in my doors, imaging isnt a major concern for me, and I cant build kicks anyway. I'm pretty sure I will do some sound deadening, so I need comps that will do well infinite baffle. midbass is pretty important to me, and I can't stand harsh-sounding tweets, so I guess that means a silk tweeter i…

I picked up a Old School Memphis 1500 today and was wondering what should i pair it with. I mostly want SQ but also want my sub to be LOUD. I listen to all types of music, mostly rap but also R&B, rock, and death metal. I was thinking of going with these subs: 1 Memphis Mojo 15, 1 AA Havoc 15, or 1 Orion HCCA 12.

  4. i got to thinking today and was wondering how this would work out.... Lets say you have a driver that is rated at 1000 rms watts, so you give it 1000 rms at 4 ohms and no problems. Now you get an amp that does 1000rms at 1 ohm is it the same to the driver???? I was just wondering if the BL of the sub would come into play or if 1000 is 1000 no matter what. Just wondering how it all would be effected. Thanks, Brock

After doing some testing with a few different size subs and enclosures, I've decided that I need to go with a small enclosure. I don't want to go much larger than one cube. The box I have now is 1.21 cubic feet, and I that's about as large as I want to go (preferably smaller, though). So, I'm needing some suggestions for subs that work well in smaller enclosures but still get loud. Budget (for the sub) will be around $150, give or take. I'll have a custom box built, probably downfiring so I can throw stuff in the back and not worry about punching a hole in the sub. The amp I have does 300 @ 4 and 600 @ 2. This is a daily driver and I listen to just about everything.…

What do u recommend for SQ??? Will be in a sealed box with 7" max depth mount... Net vol. too factory rec.. Up firing under the back seat of my ext cab sierra.. I do NOT have a amp yet but would like to stick with any of the sundown amps... Like to keep it around or under $300 for one or two subs which ever sounds better. Using CDT EF-61i with a sundown sax-100.2 in front... Was looking at two ss rli-10's and the sundown sae-100d but that might be more than I need... Also looking at the Sundown SAX-100.2and two SD-1 10's... I read its got killer sq... I just looking for clean musical bass to fill out the music not to drown anything out and not boomy.. Listen to all type…

Hey everyone, I'm planning on starting my build on my wife's car throughout the summer and want to build a SQ system in her car. This is what I have to work with. I'm skilled in carpentry and know a bit a bout fiberglassing. I'll try and post some pics later to get a visual about the build. FRONT 3-4" front speakers deep into the windshiled (you know the kind) 6.5" door pod openings There is room for a tweet mount above the 6.5". Rear Door 6.5" door pod opening. I could also find a stealthy place for a tweet here also. Rear Deck 6x9" opening I was thinking of installing AA POLY's in the 6.5 openings in the front and rear doors. As far a tweeters, I'm open to suggestions. …

I plan on getting a SI Mag D2 15 in the near future and I'm wondering what kind of box I can make to get the best of it. The limits of the trunk of my car are 16" high, 16" deep, and 36" long, or about a total of 4.2 cubes max internal volume. Would it make more sense to go for a large (~3 cubes) sealed enclosure (Decware Wedge style) or a amaller (~3 cubes after displacement and port) ported enclosure? Quality of sound is the most important factor, but I'd prefer lots and lots of that quality sound. The more headroom I can get, the happier I'll be. It will be powered by an Orion 1200D. It will replace two IA LI 12s sharing ~3.2 cubes at 32hz.

I've been researching some different subs that are priced around 100 to 150$. and i've been looking into the audioque sdc2.5 series ( as the title says ). I'm looking for a daily sub that can take a beating all day at rms and i wont have to worry about it. ( obviously right amp settings, etc ) I was thinking about either a wall in my explorer with 4 15's ( clamshell type box) or do a crx style box with 4 12's. I have more then enough room for both cause i have all of behind the back seat. demensions are like 52 wide 40ish deep and 40ish tall (estimations i dont remember the exact from when i last measured) Sq is important but i would like to compete locally and hopefully …

Hey guys havent been on in awhile but since then have decided to change my set up. Right now I am running a Lethal Injection 12 at 600wrms. I was thinking about using my amp to it's full potential and getting 3 sa-8. I have a SAX-1200D. Ok now on to my actual question. My wiring options are either 1.33333.... ohms or .5 ohms. Which ohm load would be better for my amp? I feel with the 1.3 ohm load the subs wont be seeing full power and I feel with the .5 ohm load I might ruin my amp. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have some 6.5 comps in the doors right now, and some 4x6's in the dash if my s10. I was wondering what was the advantage to getting "better" door/dash speakers?? I have 2 rl-p 15"s in a ported box. Would it "add" to my bass?? Sorry if this is a noob question. I just want to justify soending more money on "better" speakers (mids/highs).

Hi guys I am trying to figure out what is the best sub for around $200 that I can get. Here are my criteria: 15" 1000 rms More for SPL than SQ ~$200 I would prefer 1ohm stable but doesn't really matter.... My amp is a AQ1200D-rated at 870rms @ 2ohms and 1200rms @1ohm.... So far I am leaning towards the Alpine Type-R 15", many people have positive reviews about it... What other subs could I look at? thanks in advance!

Okay, so when you wire three subs together, there are always weird impedance numbers. It's never a solid one or two ohm. It's always some strange decimal. Example: So I was wondering, what if you wired, say, two dual 1's together for a 1 ohm load, then wired a dual 2 to a one ohm load and plugged them all into the amp, would the third sub be in phase or all out of wack? I just want to know if this will work out, because then you have all three subs together on a solid 2 ohm load. EDIT: Just to clarify, the 2 dual 1 ohms subs and the single dual 2 ohm sub are wired completely separately and then the two sets of leads are plugged into the amp for a solid 2 ohm load.

  24. Ok so running two rockford p3 15's 2.5 cubic per sub still within Rockford specs of 1.86 to 3.0 cubes. Subs are d2 wired on a RF T1500BDCP at 2ohm so subs seeing a few hundred watts over rms should I be ok with subsonic off? Amps filter is 28hz with a 12db slope . A few people said because I went with closer to the large side I should use the filter but I'm not sure I lose a lot of low end with it on .
