Ok, before i purchase these, let me know if you think it's gonna be loud enough and reasonably par sound quality. The sets i've chosen are TOTALLY different so you might go wtf for a sec as i even did when i made these choices, hehe. Front stage- 6.5" components Rear stage- 6.5" midbass drivers Chosen- Front - Alpine Type X Reference Rear- Audiobahn Midbass Driver Why? I am running 4KW of power, normally about 2-2.5 for longterm daily. I have the discontinued infinity reference three way six by nines. There's a +3db switch on the tweeter housing, are they normally attenuated, or how does that work? i was thinking about turning the switch on, and i wasn't sure if it may cause any damage? I have them powered by a 2010 Rockford P400-4. Their nominal impedance is 2.67 ohms so i would think their getting decent power.

came home today and found my pg tantrum 1200.1 all fixed and waiting at my door. this time i took my time hooking it up and making sure my posititives and negatives were right and once i did that my ears were treated to some of the best woofers i have heard. i could not believe how loud these are. i have the gain set at about 1/4 up and they are so loud. it feels like my jeep is reading to fall apart. the little overhead thing on my ceiling came falling down. only a true basshead can be proud of his car falling apart. thanks SI.

4 LV518s and 1 hifonics amp, did a 159.6, not to bad. the loudest its been befor with just the 1 amp in there with other woofers ive tryed is 158.6 so +1 db =]

I really like you new woofer and was planning to get one of the originals magnums but you now what happened. I am trying to not make this a comparsion thread but it might just become one. I currently own the 15HC and I am looking for something more efficient. I really like the low end of the 15HC but I would just love a louder all around woofer. I was planning on buying some Fusion comp's but I decided to go with Infinity REF6020CS for $60 Shipped. My question is just to make sure these were a good choice for comp's? Any feedback is appreciated, thanks. _George

built new box today..waiting for it to dry now.total volume is 3.4 cubes gross.port is 2.25x14x27long so net volume for sub is 2.85 plus the port which is .5 cubes.hows that sound on paper?and whats it tuned to?around 30 i think.

How much power would you guys recommend for a DC Level 4 XL 10 or 12. I just want the shock factor of holy shit thats a 10?!?!?! lol

I just installed the ctx65cs component set running of an old Memphis amp. They are seeing 55rms and I am not happy with the sound. Tweeters sound muddy whenever the bass hits, and the mids are severely lacking. I've tried everything on the amps adjustments and every level position for the tweeters, -3, 0, +3. The only way they can sound good is with the gain turned down to where they can't keep up with my subwoofer. Before, I ran infinity reference 6x8s and they had more bass, clearer highs, kept up with the subwoofer, and sounded much better than these. And they were running off stock head unit power. Ok, she currently has some piece of SH** amp i have no idea what it is. running 2 12 sony xplods in a sealed box... it sounds like trash. She listens to alternative rock sometimesRnB stuff with bass when she needs it. She drives a pontiac grand am. I'm thinking of either going with some sundown 10s or 12s. I don't know if i should have the box ported or sealed or if i should get one ten or 1 12? an im sure 600 to 1000watt mono block amp would be plenty. Just tryin to get her a decent setup away from those xplods on complete trash amp. Any advice on something like this that i'd be looking for?

Hey, I got a Free P3 from a freind, only problem is that a chunk of the foam surround was missing. I know it can be replaced, but I don't know where I could get the foam, or where I could take it to get it done. I think it'd be a good project to learn how to do it, but I wanna take it to someplace to get it fixed. How much would it cost to get it fixed, and How much would it cost to fix it myself? And what would be involved in doing it? Tim.

hi, i have a 12" type r that needs a recone (burnt vc) and since i can get a new one for almost the same price for a recone kit i figure that i would try to do a hybrid sub with it. but here is my problem. the type r uses a 2 " diameter vc and the basket has an opening for that size vc. so while i was looking around and i could find any sub that had a 2" vc that was worth doing something like this to. so i was wondering if anybody knows any subs that uses 2" vc. and also if anybody could tell me how a type r gets a burnt vc from only 375 watts. i see that tc sounds epic have a 2" diameter vc.

i have cdt cl51/4's in the kick and cl61/2's in the doors of a 02 sunfire, i was thinking about changing the 61/2" out for a slim 8" what do you guys think a what would be best to use as a mid bass?

I looked around for some information about porting these subs and only came up with sealed. I just ordered 4 of these to go in the back of my durango, so space really isnt an issue. Could someone either give me a box design, or TS per. so I can do it my self. Thanks in advance

I currently have two Obsidian Audio OA12 V2's running off of 2 Audiopipe APSM1500's strapped @ 1 ohm. I used to own a Fi BTL 12" UFO motor sub before this system but on less power. The guy that currently has my old BTL is wanting to trade straight up for my two Obsidians. I think my Obsidian setups is a bit louder than the BTL was, but I really liked the way the BTL sounded, and it's able to handle the power I'm currently running better than the OA's. I'm considering the trade, but I'm looking for other opinions on whether or not this would be a good trade or not.
