I am new to the forum and figured i would start out with a bang. So, i was up late on saturday watching th laker game when i got an itch to get off of my lazy butt and upgrade my wiring so i can install my brutus 1500 and my mag 12. the game finally got over about 1:30am and my girl was asleep. so i am in my garage , 2:30am rolls around and i hear feet shuffling outside my garage door. i stop what i am doing and dont hear anything else. again i hear feet shuffling and this time i hear whispers. i decide to investigate. i put my ear against the door and to my extreme surprise i can hear people talkng about how to best get into MY GARAGE!!!! just then they tried to open th…

im wanting to use one of my maw-15s in a ht application. I figured that the bash-300 off mach5's website would power it quite well and be very nice in a 2cuft stuffed box. however there is no way for me to run the maw at 4ohms is there? its only 2 and 8 with dvc?

As the title states I am stuck between the 2. I have 1.0 cubic foot sealed per sub. power will come from an alpine mrp m1000 so 1000 watts at 2 ohms. I listen to mainly hard rock ie five finger death punch, metallica etc. I like my bass hard hitting but accurate. All this will go in a 2009 chevy silverado crew cab head unit is a pioneer avh p 4300 and alpine components up front. Both subs are virtually the same price i was hoping some of you may have had a chance to compare them and what your opinions are. Also as far as the ssd's go for those of you who have them what options do you believe are important especially as far as my setup goes. Thanks in advance-Dave

Okay so today I showed up to my house with a free blown sub at my door and was wondering if there is a recone kit available for it. It is a Audiobahn 12" Eternal series (AWES12p) and I dont think audiobahn makes them anymore because they came out with a new immortal series. I don't know how to tell if the motor is still good but I assume it is due to the coil being the only thing that looked bad. So yeah, I would be needing the whole recone (coil, dustcap, cone/foam surround, spider, and so forth). Im almost possitive the coil is 2.5 inches in diameter (measured with measuring tape). Let me know if I let out any information. Your help is much appreciated, thanks!

So I haven't had a sub in almost 4 years, I've been running a factory stereo in my expedition (mach) for over a year and the factory 8 finally gave out. So now it's time to put a little something together. I have the expedition with 3rd row seating removed, so I have space for whatever I decide to do. I've been going back and forth between a sundown e12 for $80 or a SQ HDS200 15 for what SSA sells them, $115. I don't plan to compete, just get a little bass again. It won't be played a whole lot as I have a 1 year old who rides in my truck. That being said, when I am alone it will be played rather hard. I'm afraid the 12 won't be enough for a large SUV since I was use to an…

im looking for some good 6.5 mids for my 2005 durango. my factory radio is amplified. i will be adding an aftermarket amp for my aftermarket HU for mids. ( i tend to take out all my aftermarket stuff alot(crooks) ) i have a pioneer 6000 deck "new style", 18'' loaded btl; amp got stolen but getting a sundown 3000, but im going to switch between that and my kicker L7 of a us amps 1600.4 bridged at 4 ohms to put 1100 rms to the L7. so there will be plenty of bass. i have tried the alpine type R mids and they did not work for me. i was thinking focal. but ide like to get a few idea's from you guys. and what amp would you recomend on them. thanks. Same motor and soft part assembly. The difference is cone size and basket. Same amount of power is applied and the same size/tuning enclosure. What I am noticing in winISD is that the two 15" are more efficient and the four 12" have a less than 3db higher output. Is it fair to say that the output difference between four 12" and two 15" are negligible with same power and enclosure? FYI I compared four 12" xcons and two 15" xcons in 8^3ft tubed to 32hz. I also compared four 15" xcons and two 18" xcons in 15^3ft tuned to 32hz. The 15" & 18" comparison gave the same results as mentioned above.

Well this pretty much sucks. I have a brand new set of ID Xs-65 Components in my truck, along with a pair of ID CTS-69 in the rear. They are powered off a 4x150 PDX amplifier. I don't have my subs in, I have the crossover set at 60hz HP all the way around. I was driving the other day, listening to the radio at a normal level (Can't crank it without woofers and getting it set up) and one of the 6.5's stopped working. Mind you, I have the gain to just above muted on the amplifier, and again, I'm not rocking out with no adjustments or subwoofers to tune it in. First I thought that maybe my crossover wiring came undone since the tweeter was still playing. Nope. Hooked touch…

Ok, i just purchased an Autotek 750.1, and was told that it should put out just under 1K watts. Ive been trying to decide if i want to buy another Q for this amp so i can upgrade later on, or buy a SSD for now. This is kinda a budget build until i get enough cashflow to do what i truly want. (which is 2 15" Qs with BP ported) So my main question is, will the SSD and the Q sound basically the same off 1K watts, with the same enclosure, or will the SSD be louder since its taking a lot of power for it, vs the Q which is really just getting started. Also, what are the main advantages/disadvantages to both drivers? Ive owned a Q before and loved it, so im pretty set on…

Well, this is my first post here, and I didn't see anything on audioque over here, so I figured I'd share my experience. I just got my LW8 last week, and built the box DJ recommended for me, albeit a little lower tuning than recomended. First impressions running off 350ish wats from the bazooka amp is impressive. This little 8 (weighs about 15lbs) can really move some air. And it sounds good too, I was surprised but this sub is fast but low and not too punchy. Even with just one (i've got another on the way) it shakes everything in my car and everyone thinks i've got a 12" sub back there. Well, if you guys got any other questions give me a shot, and i'll answer asap…

I have decided to go with 2 sets of Iseries comps and a 10" DCON for drivers. I will be running all off of a SAX 100.4. One set each on channels 1&2 with the sub bridged across 3&4. My question is which of the 3 box designs in the download section will be best at this power level(320wrms)? It will be for daily use with no intentions of competeing. My music tastes are metal/rock with the occasional hip hop/thecno thrown in for showoff purposes. Thanx for any help/info.

Researched both and like what I read on both for SQ. Both are great looking subs, but don't know if I want the Morel because of 1000watts. Just don't want to hit that hard but if it is that tight and clean I would consider it. What do you guys think.

All this hustling & bustling with enclosures, has ne1 tried a free-air install with the Mags?At one time I tried it with a eD12O,it sounded OK but it didnt have enuff output for my taste.Maybe 2-12's would've done it, anyhow I think I read that some of u are going free-air,I would definitely like to hear ur input.NO Nick,I'm not plugging my Mag into a wall socket nor am I doing any free-air test tones(LOL),just wanna know how they would do in this type of setup. So with that said lets get out the MDF and start cutting out those baffles! :boink:

I have one of these that's been sitting around for a really long time. I want to build a box for it but I don't remember how big of a box I need and what I should tune it at. I can't find any info on these much less anything about the company. Anybody have any idea?

I am about to order a box for my dodge ram quad cab truck. There is a company that sells multiple different boxes for this. I was going to order a box for a single sub sealed. Becase it has 1.15 cubes I was going to order it for a single 12 inch sub. I liked this set up becasue it only takes up part of my underseat storage. They do also make some other enclosures for sealed setups. One is 2 seperate compartments sealed for 2 subs of either 8, 10 or 12 inch and have .6 cubes per sub compartment. One other box is another dual sub set up sealed with 1.45 cubes joined and can be ordered for 8, 10 or 12" subs. The third dual box is the same as the second joined setup but with …

I wanted to get some input on components as I have had little luck with getting the goods. I have limited car audio dealerships near me and they all seem to deal about 6 manufacturers and not all that great. The best I hear around here tends to be the cheaper JL VR series. Thats not saying much I'm sure, so any suggestions for someone who cant ear them. I like them to be linear, meaning not bright in the highs and not flat in the mid bass region. And worst of all they have to be competent for my next attempt at an LSQ vehicle which will be most likely a trio of Fi SSD 15's powered by a SunDown Saz-3000D at 1.33 ohms ( I'm banking on 2250 - 2500 watts there.) I am expectin…
