i am talking to Rusty about purchasing a lvl5 18 for my setup. it will be run off a zx2500.1 if i decide to go this route. any feedback on the performance of this sub? i have never heard them or see them work so i am going off of my limited audio knowledge. they will be in about 8 cubes ported in the trunk of a lincoln towncar. my goal is just daily street beating. is this sub more of an spl or sq sub? probably spl but i ask anyway

If I wall it off in my truck, the subs will go right into my seats. Will they still sound loud this way or does all the sound go into my seats?

Need to hit all of the Sundown owners up to what boxes you have used. Ihave 2 SA 12's that i will be running at a 2ohm load off a Kicker ZX1000.1. Ihave always had sealed boxes and thought that they were better for SQ and the lower bass notes. I am open to suggestions as i have NEVER used one of these subs before. If i should go ported what should it be tuned to and how many cubic ft for 2? If sealed should i use poly fill and if so how much and how many cubic ft for 2? Any reference material or you tube videos you can link me to would be great. thanks guys.

Did anyone ever compare the old Magnum vs the Rl-p ?? I doubt the D2 has been compared. Just wondering if a pair of d2 15s w/ a 20.1 will pound on my pair of rl-p on ~1500. Ported :-D.

WEll, I had some other enclosures to build today so I decided I'd get a little playtime with the Magnum in... My baffle is pretty much finished up except for the cosmetics so I went ahead and hung it all from the deck and ran some speaker wire from my truck to the trunk of the Cutlass. Wow!!! This thing is AMAZING IB!!! GOOD GOD!!! I love this; I'm so happy with this application right now it's like getting laid! I don't remember the last time I sat in a vehicle with just a subwoofer playing and actually enjoyed it. Hell, I don't think I ever have until today. If anyone has the time and patience for this, I would highly recommend trying it. YOu will not be displea…

hey guys im going 3 cu ft for 2 level 3 12's what kind of tuning do you guys use for these for rap? keep in mind just cause its rap i dont want it to sound like muddy ass..lol id like it to be musical..each sub will be getting 500 watts..this will be my first time with ported and i dont know shit about port area, volume all that stuff..and im having the shop build the box for me and install it, so if you guys can give me some numbers i can write them down and hand them to the shop..by the way reason im going with 3 cu ft is cause on there website it says 1.5 per 12'' unless you guys know something that works better

Well for the MAG is going to be going into the 3rd box in 3 weeks.....mistakes on my part....I am deadly with a tape measure!! it is in 1.1 cubes sealed right now....but i am going back to ported...output suffered too much for me So i took measurements like 3 times to make sure it will fit....the box is going to be 34L x 15H x 10D which equals 2.18 cubic feet......as you can see i want this box to be as thin as possible cause i want to save as much trunk space as possible So going by those measurements and then add in the port and driver displaement.....port is 13.5 tall by 1.5 wide and 24 inches long which equals .28 cubes so after all displacements i am guessing it will…

  14. Which one would be the best at 600-700W at 2Ohms in an SUV. Which one would be the overall winner on comparing the lows, distortion, mechanical noise, efficiency, how musical it is, how clean it sounds. Basically for an SQ build I'm gonna look into very soon. Other suggestions in the price range are welcome.

I know what you're thinking, but it's not the typical noob question. I'm wondering how the coils are wound on a DVC speaker/sub. Are they wound with one above the other, is one on top of the other? Jimj and i were discussing this earlier, maybe someone here will know. here's the thoughts so far... One above the other is wrong cause this is just a split coil, if there's no gap then the coils are touching shorting and acting as one coil, not two One wound on top of the first--They'd touch still The only thing is maybe they have some sort of thin insulation, but under the heat conditions i don't see this as being very effective

  16. I used to pair it up with a FI BL 18" but since I bought a new car, a 240sx, I must now think smaller. Im thinking two SSD's to be paired with the 1500D but im not looking forward to the hassle and the wait of shipping into Canada (Vancouver). If anyone has any other suggestions that would help, im hoping i dont have to shop online.

  17. right now i have a single 15 BTL, loaded, running off of a ma audio hk4000d. im thinking of getting a second sub and amp. i recall reading on here some kind of "formula" for the dB gain by doubling the woofer area and doubling the power, but i cant recall what the numbers were. theoretically, how many dB's can i gain by adding a second 15 and second hk4000d?

I have a 07 GMC sierra crew cab so air space is limited. I think I may be able to fit 3 10s or atleast 2 not so deep 12s I love hard hitting bass and a good ass rumble. I listen to alot of fast rock and r&b I was thinking about going with Fi subs But what kind of amp should I get? Something that will run 1ohm stable? Id like to throw about 1,500+ watts to the subs

  22. Hello everyone im new to this and looking to purchase new subs for my 2000 Acura Integra Ls. I have narrowed it down to the fallowing subs and also will need recommendations for a box for the subs if possible. Im trying to use up as least possible trunk space as possible. I have Hifonics Brutus 1700 amp already. 23. I know there is probably no definitive answer, but I wanted to know where to start. I decided on a sealed box for new Mag 15 on the way to me. I figured 2.6 cubes and 2.45 after displacement. I want to know how many pounds to start with. I am looking for about the same output as my ported 12, with a flatter response. I know the site recommends 2.3. Is my box too big? Os there a way to get a little more output from a sealed box without losing a whole lot of SQ. This is my first sealed that I have had in this car. It will be getting around 1100 watts. I listen to about everything.

Im wanting to purchase new subs for my explorer once i get my tax return. i previously had 2 15" kicker L7s in a ported box power by a memphis mojo 2400 amp. id like to stick around paying a 1000.00 for subs/amp/head unit. maybe a little more. id still like to get 2 15's. i had the last sytem 4 years ago so ive been out of the loops on good sub/amp combos. could i get some recommendations please. im wanting to be very loud, not to worried about SQ either.
