After talking to Aaron from SSA I have made the easy decision to purchase an SSA Xcon 12" very soon. He answered all my questions helping me out a ton. Hands down the best customer service I have dealt with. The customer service plus the fact that the SSA subwoofers are built in the U.S.A. made my decision easy. Alright on to my design. I'm considering buying a used Rl-i 12" to use in my '93 Nissan Altima. I've run an Ascendant Audio Atlas12" (now part of a set in my work van) as well as a Memphis PR12 and currently, an MClass12" (Memphis also). I'm using a smallish 1.2cf sealed box w/o any fill and have a USAcoustics2100 (300x1 @4ohm/12.9v). The MClass has pretty good SQ but lacks output (not as loud as the PR IMO). What is the VC configuration of the older RL-i 12 and would the power I have be enough to be happy with it or does it require more? Any box sizes that would work better sealed? How does it compare w/the subs I mentioned if any of you have owned or heard them? Thanks!! Jeremy

i have a set of bravox carbon fiber comps and a set of coaxials i was thinking bout grabbing another pair of coax's and putting them up front with my comps. i can mount midbass in door and tweeter on a pillar or in kickpod with coax or coax in the door and comp set in the kick panel. (best spot for tweeters? kick or high up on a pillar?) i was planning on running the front comps active but if i can't due to this setup i prob won't care since it'll be easier to do this and prob louder. my main reason for more speakers is i am guessing that i will not be able to hear music over the bass and i would like it somewhat close to balanced (2 18in XXX) i was wondering if it is a d…

Hello everyone, I have heard Rockford fosgate p3 12s in a ported box and sundown SA 12s in a ported box, I heard them at different times and both seem to be about the same as far as loudness goes, they are both 600 rms. I just wanted to know if anyone has had experience with either and what sub is a "better sub" in your opinion.

Ok I purchased a new car and am taking out my old audio (which won't fit into the new car) and trying to purchase some new stuff (or used) for my new car. Need to build a new box for my suv. Im running two RF t212d4 on two rf t1500bdcp. I want to go subs up port back now that im not in a trunk car. Does anyone have experience with what box size/tuning/port area these subs excel in? Right now they are in 2 cube box tuned to 35 and do ok, but im sure they have way more in them. I currently have two Obsidian Audio OA12 V2's running off of 2 Audiopipe APSM1500's strapped @ 1 ohm. I used to own a Fi BTL 12" UFO motor sub before this system but on less power. The guy that currently has my old BTL is wanting to trade straight up for my two Obsidians. I think my Obsidian setups is a bit louder than the BTL was, but I really liked the way the BTL sounded, and it's able to handle the power I'm currently running better than the OA's. I'm considering the trade, but I'm looking for other opinions on whether or not this would be a good trade or not.

Hey guys, I just registered on the forum, it looks cool. I frequent some other car audio forums and I heard this place was cool so I decided to check it out. Anyways, on to the question: I currently run a DD 9515 on an American Bass 3000 watt amp. I'm thinking of switching to a more SQ based system (the DD sounds great but they are not the best at hitting the lows below 40 hz or so). So, I'm looking into maybe 2 Fi Q 15"s, but I want the new system to at least be as loud as my DD while gaining a little in the SQ department. So, i deciding between the Audioque HDC312's or the Fi BL 12's I want this reaction coming from my high school classmates who think there Dual 12" prefab piece of shits are loud Both will be powered accordingly by Sundown or Audioque and box will be built to specifications. I dont want shit from anybody In output does an Icon match up to a BL when hooked up to a Saz-1000D I dont care about quality i jus want to know about volume. Ive never heard an Icon so i dont know how it would stack up.

On the website under enclosure recommendations it says optimal for ported it says 1.5^ft and then the free enclosure designs it shows the optimal one is 1.35^ft. Sooo whats actually recommended?

So I am going to get a 15" Mag and want to know the optimal size box to build for my trunk. My MAX dimensions are as follows: 17 1/4 in. high 33 1/2 in. long 18 in. deep I used the speaker calculator from BCAE that I found on a google search and it calculates these numbers to 5.844 ft. ^3. Seems high to me, but??? The smaller the better, yet I want it to hit lows as well as it can without sacraficing to much. I'm running a Sundown 1500D. Any assistance is much appreciated.

I've decided on a FI SSD 10" for my sealed application. Will be running two of them off an AD2200d. Trying to decide whether or not the cooling option is necessary. I'v decided non of the other options are really necessary but would appreciate input if someone thinks I'm mistaken. Daily driver, not super loud all the time but I like to rock out when I feel the need. Thoughts?

I've been looking for some 8s that have a very shallow mounting depth, to use in my doors to get some good midbass. So far all I've come up with are the JL TW5, and they're 13 inch. I'd really like to find something closer to 8 inch. I know that I could use deeper ones and glass the doors out, but then I think I would always be rubbing on them with my leg while driving. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate them.

Im running a Sound Stream Rubicon 1600d amp and I very recently (7hrs ago) ordered a single 15" Icon to run in a ported midgate Avalanche enclosure that I will soon be having built. Im second guessing myself because I now feel like the single Icon wont provide enough SPL. Im thinking about canceling for 2 Gcon 12s. Ive never personally heard either sub besides from watching youtube vid and forum customer reviews. I'm a 60/40 sq/spl but from time to time I like get my breath taken away. yeah, i finally made enough money to order the 15" d2 yesterday. thank god for ebay. anyways, my original plan was to power it with a hifonics brutus 1500 watt amp. id wire the sub to one ohm and get the 1500 watts. then, as i was reading this forum, i saw that other topic about putting 1500 watts to the sub, and how it was said that 1500 is quite a lot. my question is...should i continue with this amp and just set the gains down lower? or should i downgrade to the brutus 1000d amp? this will be a daily driver...so yeah. next question. my box. im lookin for probably 60% spl, 40% sq. so i was thinking about a 4ft^3 ported enclosure, tuned to 32hz. would this sound okay for…
