I need help finding out what sub or subs I should be putting in my car. I have a camaro, and I am able to put a 5 cubic ft box in my car and I currently dont have much power as an amp. 750 bridged at 4 ohm. The RF 500/2 Where I work I get discounts on Alpine's and RF. Thats why I am currently running 1 12" P3 in 2.5 cubic ft. sealed box. I was orignally going to put two P3's or 2 Type R's in but from what I have heard from you guys thats not the way I wanna go. I am on a limited budget of 500 bucks unless I can sell my old school memphis 500D amp and my Rockford.(I hate being a poor college student lol) I am after some clean bass. Not so much spl...even though I like ev…

Been looking through all the specs for the three. Well what specs their are for the Xcon. They all seem to be about equal in most aspects. What I'm looking for is a sub that can handle my Sundown 1500d daily, sounds good, will get loud when asked. Looking at the 12" or 15" models due to hight limitations in my car. Have up 3cft to work with. If you can think of another sub that will fit the bill throw it in the mix. This is for a 2005 Focus hatchback. I have a Kinetic 1800 under the hood with the big 3 done, 1/0 to the back and a second 1800. Sundown 1500d, 125.2, and 50.4. TC Sounds RMB65s in the doors, Cadence dome mids and Vifa xt25 in a-pillar pods. Head is a Pioneer …

Hey, whats the biggest subs you guys think that will work good in my hatch? Its about 39" wide. Top of back seat headrest to the curve at the back, depth is about 18-19". Depends on how high you go from the floor. Floor to the back of the headrest is 16.5-17". I was thinking about doing two 18" Xcons with a sundown 3500. But I don't think I have the room. I would like to be as loud as possible and sound good. Thanks.

  8. I've been looking for a good setup, but very confused about what I'm looking for. After reading a lot of forums I found that a lot of people are suggesting the tangbands and fountek's. I looked at some website and found these speakers. Wanted to know if this would be a good setup or not.... Tang Band W6-1721 Tang Band W5-704D Tang Band 25-1166SJ Each door will have 1 W6-1721, 2 W5-704D, and 1 25-1166SJ. Any feedback would be great.

k, i figure that my best bet for a sub is to get an enclosed subwoofer. which of these in your opinion are the best: kicker L5 10" solobaric, 12" kicker compVT, sony xplod 12" shallow, or the jl audio 12" power wedge thanks to everyone

What is there to expect? Will it be the same as a mag, only fitting the lower price bracket? I decided i wont at my age, income status, and everything going on to afford 2 15mags even 1 for that matter... I need suggestions as to what to do. I wish i could do 20.1 and two 15"s but HA! Im dreaming. But i dont want to drop SI, they seem to be a solid company... So With that in mind what will the bm's be looking like, so i can get an idea of how to power them and what not... So I need a budget IA 20.1 2x 15"Mag setup... =) If that makes any sense

you should come out with some speakers for DIY people. like some 6.5 o 8 inch midbass drivers! ive heard lots of cars with nice systems, but getting your midbass to match the sound of your sub is really hard. and in my preference i think it sounds really nice when your sub sound matches the midbass cuase it sounds more fluent. i would def buy SI midbass stuff to match my sub, long as you dont bust out that 230 bucks per driver stuff that makes us all poor hehe. i dunno thats just been running through my head today

I've learned the advantage of kicks are the ability to even the amount of space between your ears and the speaker, help with midbass response from being sealed, and help with aiming and imaging. But i've heard that most speakers were made for IB use and some companys like rainbow don't reccommend sealed enclosures. And could a headunit with time alignment solve the problem of the driver distance? The reason i ask is because i want to put some woofers into my door to cover from 80hz~800hz and want to know would it be a GREAT advantage to put them in kicks if i got a pair with good off axis response, and had time alignment. Would i still get a lot more midbass from a sealed…

the diamond audio d3 12's i'm getting are asking for 2 cubes in a ported enclosure.... well I have some extra room and I made up some plans for a box that's 3 cubes and ported at 34 htz..... is going bigger than the recommended volume actually worse? same thing for the tuning freq..... i don't know what they're SUPPOSED to be tuned at, but i think their response is 25-250... so i thought 34 would be low enough to make 'em pound... what do you think?

I know what you're thinking, but it's not the typical noob question. I'm wondering how the coils are wound on a DVC speaker/sub. Are they wound with one above the other, is one on top of the other? Jimj and i were discussing this earlier, maybe someone here will know. here's the thoughts so far... One above the other is wrong cause this is just a split coil, if there's no gap then the coils are touching shorting and acting as one coil, not two One wound on top of the first--They'd touch still The only thing is maybe they have some sort of thin insulation, but under the heat conditions i don't see this as being very effective

I was helping my friend out today wire 2 12" jls and we got everything setup and things were hunky dory. We took them from his old car, built a new box and tossed them in his new car. We powered it on (using multimeters to measure gains and SSF beforehand) and we started playing some tunes. All is well but I go to turn the volume down low to where the sub is barley playing and I noticed some scratching noise. I went back and pushed on the magnet (power off of course) and no scratching, no huge resistances... about the same as my 15. We took out the subs and they look fine. No bent coils (as far as I can tell), nothing is stuck, no burning...I took a quick peak at the term…
