Once I took my speaker out of the box I noticed some...issues.... Overall the speaker looks to be in pretty good shape except for one thing - the pad has come off between the cone and the tinsel lead / spider. On top of that, it looks like the tinsel lead came unstitched from the spider. I don't think this will be a huge issue but if there's a way to fix it I would like to try so I don't get tinsel slap (I think I was getting that before). Well here are my basic questions - - - - What kind of glue should I use to attach the pad back to the cone? I was told the glue "goop" should do the trick but if I don't have to run to the store I don't want to. Would just plain old sup…

I ordered two dual two fi ssd subs. I built my whole system around the subs. I built the box to spec, upgraded all my electrical, ordered a sundown 2500 for them. It's took awhile to get it all built and I'm still waiting on the amp. Adw the problem I have is when I boxed the subs I noticed that they had no movement. I just thought they were reply stiff. Got everything installed just waiting on amp, but wanted to see how they sounded. I hooked them up in series and put them on a 1000d just to here them. Their was no movement and just produced little sound. Within just a few seconds in there started to be a burning smell. Needless to say I unhooked immediately and removed …

  7. I spent some time on the net looking a different box design programs ,as I'm getting to build my first box ,and now more confused than ever. esp. with WinISD which many seem to use. There always seems to be a box or component of the software I don't know how to complete and so never seem to realize any ultimate box design. I'm leaning to making a sealed box ultimately, but am somewhat interested in a slot ported box if I can get the dimensions right that will fit in one side of the trunk of my car "95 Impala SS" and a programme that will let me configure those measurements. I did find a website with some ported box options, but something just didn't strike a cord right…

  9. I have a 12 spoke SI D2 and right now it is running in a sealed enclosure and it is not suiting my needs. I was told if I ported it, it would be a whole other sub. Supposedly sound incredible. Just wondering if anyone could help me out with some box dimensions for a ported enclosure. THe best way to get ahold of me would be to email me at [email protected] Thanks Adam

I was wondering what the pros and cons were to having subs face each other? ie would they pressurize the air better? (since both subs are compacting air on a certain point) To answer this consider same number of woofers, and for enclosure type consider straight wall compared to clamshell. thank you in advance for any insight.

  14. PRV AUDIO Vocal Speakers.... This may not make sense initially, but a high-quality speaker will have less bandwidth than a lower quality speaker... (for the most part) Just like a 3- or 4-way system is always better than a 1- or 2-way system. The narrower the bandwidth the speaker must play the cleaner it will sound. This will also keep you from asking the speaker to play up to its upper and lower frequency limits which are where it starts to sound "forced" to play those frequencies Pro Audio speakers are nothing new to car audio, but I see consumers not really knowing how to properly use them and having some issues which is understandable. These are totally di…

Can anyone who has had experience using, or heard firsthand, any PSI custom built subs give any pros or cons about them? For the price, I like what they claim, i've never heard one in person however. I've seen stuff here and there, but I really don't put much faith in many other forums word; this is my home forum So out of practice posting; My bad, to be more specific, I was eyeing up a set of Platform 2 15's.

I'm tired of not having any beat at all so I'm getting a box tuned to 32hz and need some subs. I've heard type r's plenty of times and have two tens in my room. I have never heard the p3's buy have heard good things about them. How do they compare to the sound of the type r? I just need some beat right now and I don't wanna spend more than 130 on my subs. I know either would be a good buy but I can get the p3 for a bit cheaper. Anyway let me know whAt you guys think would be the better choice.

I have an old RF punch from sometime in the 90s. I tried googling about a recone but couldn't find anything. The surround is completely gone on the woofer. I don't remember the model number, I'll take some pics of it when I get home. But everything else about the sub is fine. It's a 10 inch and I had two of them in a custom box. The other one has a broken voice coil which I'm not worried about cause it's more work. I'm curious though if anyone knows where i can get a recone for the sub.
