Why does a lot of people prefer subwoofers that is made in the US over others? And what are some good US made subs?

Well this pretty much sucks. I have a brand new set of ID Xs-65 Components in my truck, along with a pair of ID CTS-69 in the rear. They are powered off a 4x150 PDX amplifier. I don't have my subs in, I have the crossover set at 60hz HP all the way around. I was driving the other day, listening to the radio at a normal level (Can't crank it without woofers and getting it set up) and one of the 6.5's stopped working. Mind you, I have the gain to just above muted on the amplifier, and again, I'm not rocking out with no adjustments or subwoofers to tune it in. First I thought that maybe my crossover wiring came undone since the tweeter was still playing. Nope. Hooked touch…

Hey I'm getting a new car as soon as i get paid this month and I'm planning on getting some new stuff for it. I'm wondering about putting the Qs in a sealed box. Has anybody run them like this or maybe heard a sealed set-up? I'm really just wondering if they'll still sound good sealed up. Its also going in a Toyota 4Runner.

I am just curious on this topic, why does no one ever run multiple coaxial's in their door? Would kind of troubles would you run into doing this?

I'm considering getting the HAT Imagine 6.5 component set. I want to run them actively (using a deh860mp) but it appears the crossover is built on the midrange. I know i can simply bypass the connection to the crossover for the tweets but what about the mids?

Wasup guys at SSA! Its been a while and I need help on a upcoming setup I plan on getting in a week or two. What system would be loudest between 6 10" RE Audio REX 10's, 2 12" Alpine Type R's, Or a 18" Mach 5 Audio IXL 18.2.2. I might be right but six tens (period) should be louder because of more cone area but I dont really know. I also havent heard RE Audio products personally and on top of that the REX ones are entry subs. Their 175wrms each but can take more power and I just wanna be loud and still hit lows good. Are these any good? I found a local shop with some FNX1514's and FNX2514's brand new in the boxes and some Fanatics amps as well. From what I can tell these are older Fosgate but I don't know much about them. What is a good price to pay for them? Should I get them?

yeah i know this i the SI subforum but since i own a magnum and want to mae my whole system sound great with the magnum i figured id give this A SHOT. im getting ready to slowly upgrade to a 3-way diy setup. i got midbass and tweets and i wanna make midbass in 2-way setup just the lows like 80-500 and then get a very nice midrange . partly becuase i wnana amke my kickpannels smaller and get a driver with nice off axis responce. my limit is around 50 per speaker and i want 4-5.5 inch through other forums ive limited down to these 2 but they arent helping me much decide which of these 2 i should get. Hello, i have been hearing many good things about the MAW subs, but i would like to know how they compare to other subs. I have owned INfinity kappa perfects, Perfect VQ, ED K series(original, and v2), and currently i am running an SS RLP 12. How does the output compare to these and others such as IDQ, or the current ED k series, since those can also run in small boxes for a 15. Also, since the Qts is so small on the MAW 15, can it run in a smaller box than the 2.2 sealed and 3.0 ported with good results?

On certain bass beats my rlp 12 makes a funny noise. Its the kick drum or bass punch type that makes it do the sounds. Its being run by a saz 1000d. Blowjob unit . . i mean head unit is the discontinued pioneer deh-p440 if that helps any. It runs through test tones without making the sound. I took it out of the box and visually nothing looks wrong. I pushed down on the cone and heard no scraping. It makes the sound at not even half excursion and can only be heard when i come close to it but i know its not healthy for the sub. It sounds like its heavily distorting but with a more metallic sound to it if that makes sense. Does anybody have any ideas? Did something get stuck…

So I bought a sundown x-15 based off the rms and it being a sundown sub. I had a sa-15 and loved it, it hit all the notes I wanted and put in work. I had it powered by a kicker ix1000.1 in a 3.5 ish box tuned to 35hz. Now I just swapped the subs in the same box so I'm not too sure what the box is tuned to with the x-15 it hits low notes really nice, but most of the music I listen to doesn't have low low notes. My question is should I keep the x build a box for the x. And get a 8 or 10" for midbass, maybe that will fill the gap. Or sell the x a d get maybe a fi bl or ssa xcon, right now they will be powered by a alpine m240 later upgrading to sundown saz 3500 for a pai…
