Allright, now that you guys have helped me choose a sub

Ok so i have a JL Audio 12w6v2 and a Xterminator 1600.4 amp. My amp handles only up to 4ohms bridged but the sub goes 8 or 2. At 8 it sounds like the amp is pushing out all it can so i think it doesn't sound good, at 2ohms it sounds good but i cant turn it up becuase protection comes on. Is there any way to get the sub up to 4ohms by adding some kind of resistor? Has anybody done this before, if there is no cure i guess i can run my Alpine MRP-M450 which is 2ohms stable but i was trying to see if i could just use one amp. I'm new by the way lol Thanks,

With all things being equal (6.5 cu ft tuned to 30 hz), with each sub running at its RMS rating, how would you guys rate these subs in these categories: SQ: Loudness: Durability: Overall quality: Subs are: Fi BTL, Ascendant audio Mayhem, SSA XCON, Sundown Nightshade, Audioque HDC3, or DC Audio Level 4

i have 2 eD k.44. there is a rattle in one of them in between the cone and the cilinder where they meet. i dont know what this is. can someone give me any advice? al

So i just got my components in the mail today, and i was very excited. lol. but then as i take out one of the drivers, i hear something inside the dust cap rattling around! I tested it out and i can hear it rattle at low volumes, but it goes away at higher volumes. Do i have to send it back in, or is there anything i can do? The rattle is only in one driver.

which of these two woofers will provide the best sq and the best spl? i want something that gets loud yet retains nice sq in a ported enclosure. i have an 03 civic and was going to have it front facing and have the seats down quite a bit but i dont know if that would be better than rear facing. i listen to mostly rap but occasionally rock. im going to power either one with an audioque 2200d. the rd will probably have the flat wind option so it will be able to handle the power. all opinions are welcome, thanks

Im bout to buy 2x 18" RD Audio Alpha V.2 subs from someone on here.... I was wondering if anyone knew the recommended airspace for each sub, and the best tuning frequency for these subs as well.... as of now, I have a box designed for both at 13 ft3 after port displacement and drivers and crap with a port space of 177 square inches and 20" long tuned to 34hz.... so basically im giving each sub around 6.5 ft3 tuned to 34hz ..... to me, this seems good, but I was wondering if anyone on here has played with these subs and if you could give me your opinion on the best box to run these things in? RDAudio.net doesn't have the box recommendations up yet... sooooo help please....…

Just acquired (2) RD Sonance v2 10's. Does any body know what the recommended box specs are? Plan on running ported, thought id see if any one had them and / or could help me out. Thanks

I am looking at getting two RD Sonance 10" subs or two RE SE 10" subs. I did have the idea of two audioque sdc2.5 10" subs but the RE SE subs had a flatter response in WinSD. They were cheaper too. I just found a good deal on two RD Sonance subs and didn't know much about them so I am asking for help. I am going to build a ~2.5 cubic foot box tuned to 35hz. The amp I am using is going to be either a sundown saz1500 or a us md3d amp. I am just trying to get loud as i can and still have a somewhat flat response. Which 10" subs would work better in this set-up? If anyone else has some subs that they think would work for me then please recommend them. Thank you in advance.

OK... I was offered a pair of RD Sonance V.2 12"s and a Memphis MC2000-D for my 4Kw.... I do not know about anything RD except for the H.W. which i loved but... are they geared more toward SPL or LOUD SOUND QUALITY? I kepe hearing they "GET LOUD YET STILL SOUND GREAT" but you know how that is. RD guy said: "The Sonance is a great woofer all around. The first priority was SQ when designed. how are they so far and what are you running them with?

I have been flippin back and fourth between subs for a good two weeks just drivin myself crazy. I have finally decided on RE. I can't quite decide if i want to go with 1 15'' SX, or two 12'' Ses. Either way ill go ill probably get an amp just to match the rms, maybe two hundred more, so that being the 15 is 1000, and the 2 twelves are 1200 total, HELP!!

RE subs have had a really good reputation for sounding great and having a strong threshold for abuse, however there's no talk of them anymore. Did their quality go downhill or is it the raise in price that is causing them to not be as popular as they used to be?

What is the MX for? Im assuming it's neither an SPL driver nor a SQ driver. Why is it so weak? My IB3s are more than 12Bl!

Has anyone played with these before? How are they and how much power do they really need?

Hi I would like to find out if there is any big advantages to changing out my daily driver RE Audio SE10 (pre US AMPS takeover) to a SKAR VVX10 or SA-10. I have a current box built with approx 1.25cu tuned to 34hz, and will probally be using the same box. I want to try out a new sub only if it is better. Also running off a US AMPS Merline MD1D @ 1ohm. hi all I'm buying a single 12" re audio xxx new style. I could get my hands on the old style 18 but don't think I'll have the space so I'm gonna go with the 12. I need to figure out what to do about a box for it. any ideas on tuning or size? I'd like to tune it low I like screwed and chopped due to all the low notes in it. like the 20-30 hz range is where most of my bass hits. hence why I'm going with a xxx now instead of my soft Parts aa assassin 8's . I've got around 30 in wide by 17 in tall by hopefully 20 or under deep. any help would be greatly appreciated. output isn't the biggest concern but would be nice. the low tuning and sq is the most important part.

is the re box calculator a good tool to use?

I came across a good deal on a set of RE 6.5" components. Not the XXX model just the RE model. Looking for some input from guys using these/have used these in the past. Thinking about swapping these in place of my Kappa 6x9's since one of them is flaky. I'm not looking to compete or anything. This is in my daily driver and will be powered by my Alpine V-drive (60x4) I think it's more like 25-30 rms head unit unless these need there own amp.

i recently picked up 2 15 inch RE destroyers...i thought they were MT's that had a recone. come to find out they are not lol. Apparently RE made 24 Destroyers. they are very similar to a MT with the same basket only painted dark gray metallic and have a slightly bigger motor. suppossedly they have 4 inch voicecoils and have to spl of a MT but better SQ too...only 24 EVER MADE! any info on these would be great cuz i know absolutley nothing about them other than they were used in comps by team toxic bass
