Subwoofers / Speakers

Seeing that everybody dont care about going with the an all Treo system. What should I use for the highs and mids? The choice I have are Diamond, JBL, Cutting Edge, Powerbass, Cadence, MMATS, Bazooka and Kenwood.

I would have clicked the buy it now but..... those have the old school rubber surrounds that are most likely somewhat dry rotted. These would be better off kept in the box the way they are. i want to run my amp at 4 ohm bridge (because that is all it is capable of)... so if i were to get two 12 d2s mags would i need to get a new amp or would it be ok for me to wire the sub at 8 ohm and run it like that?

Is the X series worth buying?

sounds dumb i know... but what would be louder? 2 15" Kicker L7's or 1 18" BTL. im working with very little space and all being stuck with strict parents who want the spare tire to stay in the trunk of my jimmy so i have about 6.5 cubes at most. thats barely enough for either selection. either way i go i will make sure they have a good amp going to it and sufficent electrical. im just currious for what i have to work with, what would bang harder. im going with a ported box obviously. i REALLY want a BTL after seeing the amount of output these things do. i like my L7's aswell. im just curious and kind of new to this. I know most of you guys probably don't use Kicker, but I found an awesome deal from an awesome local seller for a pair of the Kicker RS 6.5 inch components and a Kicker ZX350.2 amp. No stores sell the higher models of Kicker gear so I was wondering how you think these components would be?

I was just wondering what a good price was for these two of these, because i have seen a couple people trying to sell used ones for 250 each plus shipping and then i was offered two lvl3 for 350 shipped i was just wondering if i just got a good offer for the lvl3s or if the guys was overpricing the lvl4s thanks for all inputs

I was thinking of buying a 18in or two, or maybe even a 21in DP. But in all reality I probably should just build on what I have. So I was thinking another 2 Dcons. I'm not sure how much louder it would be, or if it'd be worth it to try. I saw Hairyunicorns 6 Dcons, and yeah they looked like they looked like they did decent, but I think his issue was the box. A bit small. I have lots of room for these Dcons, and don't care about cargo space so... I was trying to design a box that would give the Dcons all the space they need, without losing my backseats. I've researched both Maw 12 and the V-Max 12.x, but I still havent found a clear answer on which one has more SPL and good SQ. I'm also open to other subs in the same price bracket ($100ish) and fits my needs. It seems like once I find one I plan on buying, I find another more options to choose from. I'm building a ported box and buying the amp to match the sub I purchase... which brings me to my other question... ...can someone point me in the direction of an amp ($150ish) they recommend?

Hi, I will sell my Xcon this week. I have a wonderful deal, so I must sell it !!! I love the Xcon, but want to try something else. If I could fit (2) 12" , I would get (2) Xcons. Now, I want a 12" Fi Btl N2 to put in my 3.2 ft3 ported enclosure. I like it because of the "reduced" weight. I want to be louder than now, but still clean ! I listen to reggae and rap mostly. I thought about those 12"subs : Fi Btl N2, AA Mayhem, DC level 4 xl,... But what is your opinion ? What would you choose ? In the future, I will try a more powerful amp (2500 watts), and I will build a smaller box for the 12". I need room in the trunk to fit a battery and some groceries eventually ! Waiting…

Got a nice new box, I wanna keep it. It's 1.75 per with a huge port (will edit in actual port specs later)tuned to 28hz. All of the higher power handling subs I see need more space so I'm looking for a subs that can do well in this box. I'm upgrading from SA-12's and the budget can be pretty high since this won't happen soon. Just looking so I can save up, or start saving.

I just got 2 12 inch 3xl subs and there not loud to me, the box is 2.0 cubic feet per chamber. I hear great things about them so my question is will they get louder after they break in or will i need to put them in a bigger box thanks.

Mark or anybody that can answer, I have an mj18 that recently got a hole knocked in the surround and the dust cap crushed in, the speaker still sounds good but I would like to fix these issues if possible. Can I resurround the mj and put a new dustcap on it? How much for the parts, we have resurrounded speakers before just not the MJ. Thanks!

I have my maw in a 2.45net sealed encolsure, and while it gets fairly loud, i long for a bit more output. I was designing a new box for it, and came up with around 3.1ct net tuned to around 33hz. only problem is fitting a large port in there. was either planing on a single 4" aero port, or dual 3" aero ports. slot port will not work due to size. My problem is i dont want to take up my whole trunk, and the dims i have to work with are 33"wx16.75"hx14"d. i would prefer to have the ports firing toward the rear as well as the sub. Not alot of port area, but the sub is not an spl monster, and has a lower 13mm xmax. just wondering what people thought of that setup as fa…

One Mag 12 or Mag 15? i can't decide, i want SQ and not something too crazy but since this is a demo i'd like to have alittle show. Also what is the depth of the sub? Is the Mag 15 8in deep? or is that the 12?

which setup would hit harder and sound better all around, two rl-p 12"s or one rl-p 15"? also what would be a good amp to power the sub(s)? thanks!

so im new here but not to forums Bigbill035 at roe! and i was wondering if a ssd 15 would get more spl and better sq than a SA-15 im going to run it off a 1600d hifonix. im going to make a box at 4 cubes probably around 33hz and its going into a caddy fleetwood then to a eldorado when i get the front axel fixed. any answers or input will be appreciated thnx in advance. ~Bill

Well right now I am gonna get either 2 Fi BL or 2 ICONS. They will be wired to 1ohm off my soundstream pca2000d. But in the future i will be getting a zx2500.1. On the kicker site it rates it a 2500 rms at 2 ohms. Are the kicker amps one ohm stable? Cause if i get dual 1's to run off my soundstream amp at 1 ohm then when i upgrade to my kicker amp and not be able to wire them to 2 ohm then i got a problem. I was thinking though if i just got Dual 2's and just ran them off the soundstream amp at 2 ohms for 1500 watts then just be set for when i get the kicker amp. Or can will i be able to wire dual 1's to 2ohms off the kicker?

is the XXX suspension softer or stiffer than an SX, because compared to my SX, my XXX is not near as stiff, my SX is close to my friends L5, not quite but close, but XXX right from recone was not really stiff, is that right? just trying to solve some probs im having with my System

I've got factories in the rear doors now, powered by a couple channels on my Crossfire VR404 (just wired it in when I did my fronts, just in case I'd upgrade in the future. easier all at one time). But I love the midbass kick, and I want more. Would it be ok to get some good midbass drivers and put back there? How high in frequency does it need to go before it gets directional? maybe 60 up to 250 hz or so ok? I also need some suggestions, probably 6.5". something that isn't any deeper than my JL XR 6.5's in front, but I'll have to look up their dimensions. im getin ready to buy an amp for my front stage but i figured i do some research on an active system. first off what i have now is a sony cdx gt310 with the ipod control. (im thinking only having 1 preamp output is a problem) polk db1000 tweeter, db525 5-1/4" coaxils, db690 in the rear deck, kenwood excelon x10d runing a 12" aa arsenal. i was thinking a 2way front stage would be best. i could fab a 6"~ woofer in the door and use the polk tweeters. what are some good products and what will i need to pull this off? i dont want to spend alot on this upgrade, it more of about learning how it works then buying 500$ worth of equipment to show up my friends.

Looks like i'll be running all sundown amps in the near future. I'm looking for forum recommendations for a nice Loud sub that can produce nice lows off a single Sundown SAZ-1500d. Currently my top pick is an RE MX 15 im nt really interested in the Fi BL, but i did look at it as a possibility, and i looked at the TC 3000 but seems they are kinda wishy washy about having things in stock or not. Price is about 700 dollars to work with for a single 15

Just curious, seems like most of you guys own mag series subs. are there many others of you out there that own the BM series? i was wondering what kind of SPL others get and in what kind of enclosure for one 12, two? i have one twelve in a slotted box with 2 sq ft. but i never clocked it yet. (hardly any competitions in hawaii)
