Ok so I checked my ohm load to see if it was really at 1 ohm. My DMM reads 3.1-3 ohms, so I pulled the subs out and tried from the connection. I got 1.5 on one side and 1.5 on the other, with out the jumper. They are 2ohm dvc. So why am I not getting them wired down to 1ohm when I put the jumper on from - to + as it should be? Some one plaese explain this to me. I mean I get that 1.5+1.5 = 3 but shouldn't I get .5+.5=1ohm? Then if it run it like if it was at a half ohm. It reads .8-1.0 ohms thats - jmped to - and + jumped to + Are the dual 4ohm subs? Even though the guy that sold them to me said dual 2? Oh and they BOTH do the same thing

Anybody have any experience with these? I thought about trying them about.

im getin ready to buy an amp for my front stage but i figured i do some research on an active system. first off what i have now is a sony cdx gt310 with the ipod control. (im thinking only having 1 preamp output is a problem) polk db1000 tweeter, db525 5-1/4" coaxils, db690 in the rear deck, kenwood excelon x10d runing a 12" aa arsenal. i was thinking a 2way front stage would be best. i could fab a 6"~ woofer in the door and use the polk tweeters. what are some good products and what will i need to pull this off? i dont want to spend alot on this upgrade, it more of about learning how it works then buying 500$ worth of equipment to show up my friends.

This is something I am saving up for, so semi budget minded. I currently have 2 JL Audio 12w3v3 in a sealed box about 3.6 cub with 1500 rms MA Audio amp. I want to upgrade amp and subs. Subs will help decide what amp I get, I am trying to decide between a pair of Sundown SA-12 and SSA ICON 12. I have been looking and studing both for a while but cant decide since I have heard great about both, and looking for some advice to persuade me one way or another. This will be for a daily driver setup listening to rap/rock mostly. I prefer to stay with a sealed box but a new box will be made for the new subs. If it helps this is going in a 95 Mazda B3000 xcab.

I would have clicked the buy it now but..... those have the old school rubber surrounds that are most likely somewhat dry rotted. These would be better off kept in the box the way they are. hey, i've been looking into some different subs and the audioque caught my eye. im not gonna lie im not asking for sq or anything, its my daily driver but im not an sq guy ( dont want it to sound poopy but you know what im saying) i would power them with 3000 ( for both ) and i want it to sound musical, what size box would you recomend? how small would they work in and what tuning would you use, i've read that you should tune the hdc3's higher ( above 35 hz, if i read right ) thank you for helping out a noob -tyler

got a buddy that wants to get a good loud system, looking for a good 18" for loud daily probably in the $500 - $600 range give or take. Vehicle is undetermined for now, most likely an SUV, possibly a small hatchback sports car, either way will slot port and tune around 35Hz. probably get a HO alt, 2 AGM batts, and a BXi2608D as I've learned thats the best cheap way to go. Fully loaded BTL daily option is what we're lookin at now, but want to know what else is in this category? Thanks all! Krypto

I have an IA 20.1 on order and am thinking of going with two Mag D2 15s for it. I designed a box that is 7 @ 30hz w/ 90in^2 vent area. I was wondering if you guys had tried that type box yet and just how does it do? Does it start to dip after 50hz? I am sure it wil probably ring my bell from 30 - 50hz. I am just worried it won't do much afterwards. About where would you said my 3dB down point would be? Also, I have a goal of a 146+ new TL with this setup Legal on music. 98 explorer....think that is too lofty of a goal?? Thanks :-D -Alex

Mark or anybody that can answer, I have an mj18 that recently got a hole knocked in the surround and the dust cap crushed in, the speaker still sounds good but I would like to fix these issues if possible. Can I resurround the mj and put a new dustcap on it? How much for the parts, we have resurrounded speakers before just not the MJ. Thanks!

So i blew my morel supremo's.. 440$. Nice. Anyway what other tweeters are out there that sound great but are cheaper. I was on madisound and was looking at other morel drivers. The tweeters are so much cheaper then what i paid for these supremo's. I still want to get them but they are expensive and now i am questioning if they are worth it. Any tweeter recommendations would be appreciated. I am running a pioneer 9800 headunit off a sundown 100.4 amp. My mids are SEA excel's.

I have a Fi 15inch ssd d-2 on it's way. I have a sundown1200d, at 1ohm can i send 600watts to the sub?i have 4ga and a stock alt and battery.this is why i wana send unded 800watts.i had a audio q2.5 and at 580 watts iwas seeing volt drops at 12.9.

okay well this blows.......i put my amp and all in the truck hooked everything up PROPERLY and im playing it at a respectable level (50 out of 80) and all i hear is a loud pop, and a cloud of smoke rise from no where......i couldnt tell u if it was from my subs or not but it looked to be coming out of the port. i didnt smell anything bad BUT im looin at my subs and it seems as if two of the subs have a lot looser of a suspension than the other two......its really pissing me off cuz ALL I HAVE HAD IS PROBLEMS WITH THESE SUBS! let me know and yet its my bday.....go figure this stuff happens today

Well right now I am gonna get either 2 Fi BL or 2 ICONS. They will be wired to 1ohm off my soundstream pca2000d. But in the future i will be getting a zx2500.1. On the kicker site it rates it a 2500 rms at 2 ohms. Are the kicker amps one ohm stable? Cause if i get dual 1's to run off my soundstream amp at 1 ohm then when i upgrade to my kicker amp and not be able to wire them to 2 ohm then i got a problem. I was thinking though if i just got Dual 2's and just ran them off the soundstream amp at 2 ohms for 1500 watts then just be set for when i get the kicker amp. Or can will i be able to wire dual 1's to 2ohms off the kicker?

hey everyone, I was wondering if its possible to change the positive & negative terminals on a sub? I have JBL GT5s I'm using but it seems the terminals on the subs are very flimsy. Is there any way to change them to something a little more heavy duty or easier and more steardy to use? If so, can someone point me in the right direction on how to go about changing them? Thanks! I've researched both Maw 12 and the V-Max 12.x, but I still havent found a clear answer on which one has more SPL and good SQ. I'm also open to other subs in the same price bracket ($100ish) and fits my needs. It seems like once I find one I plan on buying, I find another more options to choose from. I'm building a ported box and buying the amp to match the sub I purchase... which brings me to my other question... ...can someone point me in the direction of an amp ($150ish) they recommend?

okay i was thinking about getting rid of my 6.5" SLC comp set for a pair of these. http://www.creativesound.ca/index.html it says flat 65hz - 20khz. its gona take up a lot less space in my car, and im prolly gonna fiber these and port them to 62hz or so to bring up that midbass freq. will this actually play down to 65hz? 80 even?

Found a great deal on ebay for Hertz HSK 165 and Mille MLK 2 . 2011 models . I was reading about the Mille having tweeter protection ,is this a good thing to have ? Are hertz really that good ? I've heard nothing but good reviews about them . The tweeter protection concerns me cause my Orion HCCA would cut out at loud levels but i dont think they were distorting . It had to replace them cause of that . Is it worth an extra $100 for the Mille series or should the HSK high Energy be enough ? I have about 125+ rms clean per channel from my ESX 1204 amp Thanks
