Hi guyz, Just wondering if someone has already used one of those? http://www.tymphany.com/products_Tymphany_LAT.html How big should the box be (sealed) for, let's say a LAT 700? Last question, and a stupid one, would those work in an IB alignment? seems like vas and qts are good enough (my guess)... heh

hi, today i heard some horns because i wanted to see how loud they really are compared to normal speakers and i didn't think they sounded that bad it was just that they lacked midbass so i was wondering would it sound weird to have a horn and a midbass driver for a front stage and have normal speakers in the back( componots [i don't need to know that having rear speaker messes up imaging because i already know plus i already made holes for current speakers in my rear deck cover for the tweeters])

I'm buying 2 JBL GTO1502D (15") and I went on their website to see a box layout. But I don't really want to do that. Anyone have any ideas or sites maybe I could see a dual box layout. Someone told me I should do enclosed no vents, but I think I might need vents. A bit of help please? Either a site that shows me a build blueprint for dual 15" or a site I could buy dual enclosed box, cheap? regards, timinsk

Since I have 90% of my equipment for the blowthrough, I have been questioning whether my front stage will be able to keep up with my substage. I have been thinking about finally going active on my front stage. I currently have Alpine Type X 3ways. And I'm looking for mids(or a combination of mids) that have a somewhat good level of midbass and clarity. I'd also like a relatively good tweeter to go along with the mids. I typically like mellow tweeters but I'm open to anything as long as it isn't overly aggressive. My 8445 may not be perfectly suited for active applications but it'll be fine. I will be powering this with my sundown 100.2. I'm open to 2way and 2way suggest…

hi, i have a 12" type r that needs a recone (burnt vc) and since i can get a new one for almost the same price for a recone kit i figure that i would try to do a hybrid sub with it. but here is my problem. the type r uses a 2 " diameter vc and the basket has an opening for that size vc. so while i was looking around and i could find any sub that had a 2" vc that was worth doing something like this to. so i was wondering if anybody knows any subs that uses 2" vc. and also if anybody could tell me how a type r gets a burnt vc from only 375 watts. i see that tc sounds epic have a 2" diameter vc.

ok so when i power my amp all that happens is the subs hit at one tone and thump at the same tempo the whole time.. it does not go to the beat of the song and also does it when the song isnt playing. my amp has both lights on (red and green) it is a cadence sounds txa1000d. i bought it brand new from their site so it has the 2 year manu. warranty. Should i take it back or is it trying to tell me something? here is the amp: http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc...uct=380#details i read the manual and what i read didnt help or solve the problem.. i will email cadence in a few minutes.. but from what i have experience from them their cs isnt the greatest.. i have emai…

Hi ive been a lurker on this forum for awhile and yesterday decided to buy the MAW-15. I had a 12 Phoenix Gold RSd in 1.2 sealed and it didnt have enough output for my liking so i turned the bass boost up 1/4 and blew it, lol, noob mistake i know... The amp i had it running off of was the Alpine MRP-M850, gains set accordingly to 800rms. Well anyways im gonna try the MAW-15 and see what happens, i will put it in the recommended sealed enclosure of 2.2 i believe (Is that after displacement or before)? Now how much wattage can this thing take, ive heard it can do 700rms fine, some guy said he did 900 but i doubt it. Well i will have up to 800rms clean so power for it isnt a…

  13. After a year resisting, I finally gave up and got a 15" Magnum to run in my daily driver. Should have done it a long time ago, but you know how that can be. After the Magnums I've heard lately, I can't wait to get this put in this weekend and rocking in the Stratus. It's going in a little different box than most, so we'll see how it works out, but based on the specs, this flared slot chambered transmission line should work absolutely flawlessly, and be a low end monster while not giving up too much on the top end either. I'll have to ride up to Mooresville and let Nick check it out and tell me what he thinks once I get everything worked out, and I'm happy with the en…

Hey guys, I got a friend looking to upgrade her factory front stage. She was thinking about these... http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...roducts_id=1466 http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...roducts_id=1125 These will be powered with a RF 800.4. I'm not sure about this at all. The budget is around what it would cost for the speakers mentioned. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. She listens to a lot of R&B and alternative rock. Just looking for a clean sound up front.

I'm currently running an 05 XXX 15 in a sealed 2.2 cubic foot enclosure, power by my Linear Power 2.2HV @ 8ohms...I'd guess about 800 watts rms. The output is great, however, the added weight of a 55lb driver and I guess another 20-30 for the box is whats killing me. So I think I've decided to run 2 10s or 2 8s, though good 8s are hard to find, and I don't want to run an Rl-i, I've used TC products before and weren't too impressed with them. I'm kinda leaning towards an Icon or SSD/Q, but am having a hard time deciding. I listen to heavy metal, so large amounts of output are not truly necessary, but it is nice every once and a while...and by that I mean maybe 5 mins a we…

Doing a system to my 2008 sierra ext. cab... I already have a kicker ZX700.5 amp and CDT EF-61i comps... Also going with the alpine IVA-W205 head unit... I'm looking for a little help on what sub I should look into... Looking for one 10" for a sealed in the .65 to 1.0 net vol. range.. Will be under back seat... With stock seat height I'm looking at a 5.5" mounting depth... but I'm looking at raising the back seat 3/4" max with wood blocks... If I do this it puts me up too 6.25" mounting depth.... The kicker will be feeding the sub around 400-500 watts rms @ 2ohm. IF I can get the seat high enough I am going with a sound splinter rli-10... IF raising the seat don't work …

A single 12 setup would be the best option spacewise in my trunk and help me achieve the goal of LSQ....lol. I found a box that fits the criteria within the recommended specs for each woofer http://cgi.ebay.com/12-RE-AUDIO-SE-ENCLOSU...1QQcmdZViewItem the box is 2 cu. ft. tuned to 32 hz.... which is within the recommended enclosures for each woofer as i have previously stated. Yes this box is in essence prefab...but its properly built. I dont feel like building a box myself...someone can build me one for cheaper than i can get this one w/ shipping. ok first off i have 2 maw 15's in a sealed box.. not the loudest setup but it sounds damn good! anyways i have a few things i have been thinking about trying.. 1) 2 external aero ports (tuned to 30hz)(size? amount?) the box is 5.7 cu ft (inside the wood) not sure o sub displacement.. and option 2) i just use one maw 15 and port it to 30 hz.. which would get the loudest? ok and just today my subs quit playing the beat of the music and had a really faint thump that kept going.. the speakers in my car were still fine. im thinking its something with my rca's.. also b4 this happened my sub would go into what i thought was protect mode. when i woud start my car for the first ti…
