http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/2346787/12 So far they're in 3.25cf sealed a piece... if I need to, I can always port them to 40 or 45hz with a pair of 6" ports per sub, and hit the magical 150 mark fairly easily But I want to try for 150 without porting

Simple question, i'm thinking about installing my component set today (finally) and i'm about to check to see if i can make a baffle board or if i need to do rings. either way, i know i have to make the MDF waterproof and i planned on using resin. Now, when making my box, i was told not to put the speaker in the box for 24 hours because the fumes from silicon sealants are known to eat away speakers. Is this true with resin? I ask because i would really like to get them running today, but i also don't want to ruin $250 worth of speakers. Looking for a quick response!! Either way i'm letting the Resin cure, but as soon as it does, will it be safe for speakers?? Thanks to a…

I finally got myself a better sub, a RE Sx12. I have the recommended box sizes from RE, but I decided to play with WinISD a little and noticed some big disparities. RE recommends 1.5 cubes at 33hz for a compact box, but WinISD seems to want a 0.75 cube box with some crazy port lengths. Am I doing something wrong, or is WinISD just weird? I followed WinISD's instructions and the parameters it calculated seem to match up with what RE has provided. RE also suggests a 2.0 cube box at 35 hz... Can anyone point me to an info page that spells out what effect ported box sizes have on output? I'm expecting to have to build a few different boxes to get things perfect, but how bet…

I'm a total front stage noob. Literally. But, I'm really thinking of new things that I can do to my truck to improve its front stage. It doesn't particularly matter to me whether it is a component set or set of speakers that are to be run in an active setup. I happen to like airy and not harsh tweeters, a smooth midrange, and a strong midbass presence. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks, Brandon

Well, my RMB8s won't fit, so I'm gonna ditch the 3-way active and run 2-way with a pair of 7" Revs. Anyone recommend a good tweet to go along with these? Looking at no more than $200 for the pair. Will be moungtd in the door.

Okay the MTX tweeters had one die on me last week. So I finally decided it was time to replace them. I was going to use cheap-o wal*mart 3/4" tweets but after seeing they are 10 watts RMS, i knew they would be worthless. I decided to check out some Power Akustics. After picking them up I noticed no swivel to the tweeters themselves. Okay no problem, I can adjust by how I mounted them. I started off with Hed P.E. "Amerikan Beauty". There is a good vocal range here in the females voice, and the lead singer's vopice as well. The first thing I nopticed is on the MTX x/o's they sounded VERY shrill. I dropped the EQ's tweeters level and tweet boost down. The tweet boost went fr…

i just recently finished the install for this sub (pics in show-off forum<------shameless plug :boink: ) and i gotta say...it is everything advertised and more!! BUILD QUALITY is excellent. looks like a lttle excess glue above the top spider around the former, but i can live with that. same 4 spoke cast basket as many subs including treo and memphis. this thing weighs in at 30 pds...8 pds heavier then one of my treo 15's! all things equal, easily comparable to the best subs out there MUSIC REPRODUCTION WOW, can this thing get low! using a bass mekanics cd, i played everything from test tones to sample tracks. this thing just reproduces adn doesn't quit! it also …

Are these any good? I found a local shop with some FNX1514's and FNX2514's brand new in the boxes and some Fanatics amps as well. From what I can tell these are older Fosgate but I don't know much about them. What is a good price to pay for them? Should I get them?

Do you guys considered the new 2011 RF P2D4 15" an overall better sub than the RE SRX 15" sub? The SRX has more linear excursion 18mm vs 12. I cannot find the Mms of either sub. The Bl of the SRX is 14 vs unknow. SPL is 87db for the SRX vs 86db. The Sd is 810 vs 894. My concern is that a sub with that much Xmax(RE) could sound louder than a sub with just 12mm but with almost 900 of Sd?? Also, the cone material of the subs: RE is Kraft pulp and the RF is Kevlar. If Kevlar is a bullet proof material is going to be a lil heavy than Kraft pulp, right? Thas why the RF Xmax is only 12mm?? It seems to me that the RF guys put a lot of technology in their new subs. The RE seems to…

so after purchasing the BTL i need to beef up the rest of the system. Im riding in a 2004 Ford Explorer. I was thinking two sets of RF T1572 (power series!). WRMS 70 a piece. thinking about powering them with a JL audio J2 320.4 (60 watts to four speakers.) Wondering if anyone had any experience with either of these products and any suggestions for other full range speakers? im looking to spend about 350-400 for 2 sets of speakers and an amp. I know its kinda cheap.... but oh well. The head unit is the Eclipse CD7200 MKII (soon to be that is =] i just want some and any input before i make this purchase!! thanks

You could hear the magnets way too much and the surround wasnt really moving a whole lot. I was wondering if somethin may be hooked up wrong or if anyone would know what it is?

I came across this box and it says its only 3 cubic feet. This does not seem correct. The recommendation for the sub is anywhere from 2.8-4 cubic feet. box link http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1218009774927 also...if i buy an amp like this...http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9027206&type=product&id=1218009770462 will i get good performance out of this sub because the brand name is like unheard of lol Thanks.
