i am considering to pick up the Mag 15 and put in a sealed box to spec. I am looking for S Q L and I heard this driver delivers, so I am curious.. what dB numbers have people hit in sealed boxes? Thanks

i just got my friend sold on buying a magnum. i was wondering that would hit lower and sound better, a ported 12 incher d2 or sealed 15 inch d2. he wasnts awesome sound quality and wants t hit low well. and hit. the 12 would be ported tuned fairly low, like 20-30 herts i assum

i know everything is install related, but i want to try to get a general consensus i asked this question on another forum as well subs are DC lvl 3 as far as output, im quite sure i would be happy with either setup. my buddy has 2 12" type r's sealed up and they are loud enough for me (but louder still is better) my goal then is to hit as low as possible with these subs (i listen to rap, so the lowest i would need to think about would be like in "put on": ~25hz) i typically set my crossover around 65-70hz, so anything above that im not worried about currently front is stock, but will be upgraded soon; looking at rainbow and hertz right now.... 12's ported, box hopefully e…

What do you guys recommend. Box is 2.2 cu.ft. tuned to 32hz. Budget max is $320 for both. Want some 10's that get real low and have lot of output.

Those of you that are running HO alts, what do you have and where did you get them? I will be coming into a little bit of money in about a week and think I might get one. I have a 99 Alero with 110 amps stock alt. I have a PG t1200.1 and a PG t500.2 to run. I want to be sure they get all the juice they deserve. Looking for suggestions. I have a set of old set of 5 1/4 mb quarts and would like to use the tweeter and crossover with mli65 but will the crossover be too high for the mli6.6? (will the crossover take too much mid/bass out?) what do you guys think?

ok, well i'm looking into getting two new Mags possibly but know that the upgrade process will take a little time due to money. I have a concept CC-D1200 that at 1ohm does somewhere from 1200-1400RMS and at 2ohms does 900-1100RMS. So for one sub i know i'm fine but when i get the second one i'll have to be at 2ohms and didn't know if 450-550RMS is too little for them. i would hope that i will add a 2nd amp to them but I may be replacing the concept amp at the same time. Will i run into underpowering issues if run at 450RMS? It will be in a sealed 1.5cu ft per sub box.

I have it narrowed down to three choices(til someone decides to throw something else into the mix). Diamond Audio D6, Fi Q, and SSA ICON. I will be using 2 15" drivers in an ex cab ranger. I am sure you guys get tired of answering these questions, but since I am a complete newbie when it comes to car audio, I would like some advice from experienced audio enthusiasts like yourselves. My system is going to be more SQ based than SPL, reason is I listen to as much, if not more, rock/alternative music than rap. I was leaning towards either 1 12", 1 10", or 2 10" subs. I want something that hits accurately and enhances my rock music, but will also sound good when I decide to play rap. Does anyone know if anybody makes a custom carbon fiber dust cap for a 10" ssa gcon?

I bought and installed a recone kit for a Soundsplinter RL-P18 (TC-9 motor). Things were going well, everything aligned properly, or so I thought. When the cone is depressed with equal pressure on it there is no scratching noise so the coil does appear to be misaligned. When running at low volumes (Low excursion) the sub sounds fairly decent, perhaps just a bit too distorted compared to the sub when i had originally bought it. The issues start when I begin to turn it up (300-500 watts). There seems to be a clipping noise of sorts and it becomes very distracting from the useful output of the sub. I cannot test the DCR because I have no working DMM but using a 9 V battery…

Long story short i ended up wiring my Sundown 1000 watt amp positive positive(instead of negative) to my fi q postive negative wires. Sub only sounds good on lows(like 40 and below) anything else and it just sounds like garbage. My question is since this counts as user damage is it worth getting it repaired by the sundown and fi? or if you guys have any suggestions on anything.......because im guessing either of the 2 can be damaged. PS the thing that sucks the hardest about all this is i just purchased and installed my rainbow 265's and now that it was finally complete other than dynamat HALP

Alright guys im wanting to change up a little bit here currently im running 1 18" in a 5^3 box(after displacement) on 3K. sounds great if i wanted to put up numbers, but lows arent where i want them and tuning lower wont be the best option because i really cant use this setup in my car anyway, do to weight of extra batts and sub its self, vehicle is lowered and going on 20s. So what i want to know is which would do better in 3.5 to 5.0 cubes tuned to around 25-28hz. (3) SSA Dcons 10"s or (3) IA 187s 10"s ? I like both due to the cost, also i chose 10s so i can seal them foward. They will be ran on a SAZ-1000D and goal is brutal lows (i listen to mainly C&S). Thanks …

My system currently is 2 10" type r's looking to upgrade them to 2 12"s got a 1000w kenwood amp and will upgrade amp soon I'm stuck between 2 MTX TS8512's or 2 Sundown Audio SA-12's Just looking for some help with my new system.

Well, i have a sub in my room that gets listened too occasionally... Im not looking for anything with incredible output (only have a 100watt amp) and it doesn't have to sound the greatest either... The only time i listen to it is in the morning getting ready and its not at really high volumes cause there are other people in the house but sometimes when no one is here i turn it up pretty loud... The box it is going in is somewhere between 2.3-2.5 cf cause im not sure if the whole thing is made of 3/4" material or just the front part with the sub... It is going to be ported as well... Right now the dumb manufacturers made the port 4" across and only 5" long... Not sure what…

I am in Canada, and I'm just looking for a few options, and shipping and stuff will cut into my budget. I was going to go with two Mach 5 IXL-12.2.2s and an Orion 2500D. The subs are only Dual 2. However, Mach 5 is Canadian and the Orion is also in Canada. I'm looking for some alternatives. Whatever combos you guys can come up with, for around 800 bucks for the sub(s) and amp(s) and shipping to Canada....

hi, i am helping a freind put together a low wattage system( under 1k) and he wants to use jl subs and is thinking of using to 2 13w3v3 off of a sae1000d ( my idea) and it is going in a 240sx and the box will be 2.25 f^3(per sub) tuned to 30hz. and i am wondering what are other people opinion on the 13w3v3 ( i already tried to have him get the w6 but he does not want to spend 300 per sub.) and he is going for LSQ
