okay, i know a lot* of people are talking about Resonant Engineering nowadays and i could honestly say that i believe the praise that they get. however, i like being different and i always try to find that 'sleeper' brand. i wanted to know how these 2 subs compare. i'd like the most SPL possible without sacrificing much SQ. Hitting the lows hard is a must too. I plan on running 800watts one of these, ported. Anybody got experiences with both? Im kinna torn between these 2 subs and i need something to stand out from the other. any help is greatly appreciated. thankss

Hi all, just trying to get to grips with all of this series and paralel wiring stuff. I am looking at buying a set of 4 100W continuous load speakers for my car (at the standard 4ohm). I understand now that if you wire these in a parelel circuit you will be able to use a 2ohm load for them. The amplifier i'm looking at says it powers 2x95w at 2 ohms. So if i wire 2 speakers up to one connection on the amp will it power both speakers at 95w or send 95w to split between the speakers. I dont know if i need a 2x200w at 2ohms or if this amp is perfectly capable. Just so it helps explain the parts im looking at, i'll provide links to them to see if anyone can tell me if im goin…

i was told today that DLS stuff really went downhill the last few years. way back when, they had the support of Morel makin thier speaks, and genesis makin the amps. when DLS decided to cut costs a little, they went to china and showed them chinos the design of thier stuff, and the chinese copied it. When Morel and Genesis heard what was goin on, them 2 companies cut thier production for DLS. so like 02-03 on, DLS's equipment isnt really as good quality. Is this true?

I have a 2012 tracker fishing boat. I would like to put a very small and simple system into it. No subs probably just left and right. Amped. Bluetooth deck. Location for the speakers will be lower on the left and right side of the boat. There is actually storage boxes on both sides that run the length of the boat back. Obviously way more air space than what will be needed but they are something that stays closed. That's where speakers will more than likely go. I plan to purchase a lower end pioneer Bluetooth capable h/u. I currently own a few 2 ch amps I can use offering up to 100 rms per channel. I own a set of fosgate power series 2 way 6x9s I could use. My goal for thi…

I was thinking about putting three 10" subs in my '91 Vette, so I posted an earlier thread asking for suggestions and a few people suggested that I run just one 12" sub instead. Personally, I think three 10's would fit nicely, sound better and get louder than just one 12, but I'd like to know what everyone else thinks about it. The maximum dimentions I have to work with are 34" x 12 1/2" x 18". Thanks for any input.

Gotta 92 deville and Im just trying to get the best bang for my buck. The seats dont fold down at all and it has that big ass metal piece blocking most all of the sound from getn into the cabin. So Im looking for a sub that gets loud and is able to take them lows. Im most likely going to have it port tuned at 32-34 hz.. Im leaning towards a fully loaded 12" FI Q, But Ive been looking at the 12 IA LI's also, They seem to get really loud and take the lows... Or possibly a SA 12? Whats ur opinion?

There seems to be a lot of misconception about an infinite baffle, so here goes my stab at it with a link to a forum that has a lot of dedication and experience to them. What I have gathered: A baffle is a board a speaker driver is mounted to. When a speaker is not attatched to anything, and the front and rear wave are completely allowed to go around the driver and are not in any way isolated or coupled, it is free air. When it is on a baffle, the sound waves are forced to travel further to intersect. The smaller the baffle, the higher waves (upper frequencies) are no longer cancelling out as the baffle separates them. As we increase the baffle size, the longer it gets, …

So 2 sa-12"s cost virtually the same as a single xcon 12" my goal is spl, not competition, its gonna be my daily driver, but id like it loud so if space isn't an issue (box with volume up to 5 cubes), which would you do? Im guessing since the sa's would just have more displacement that they would be my best bet. your input?

I need some opinions on the Death Penalty... I will be running 3k rms to each 15'' DP that im going to order tomorrow and im wondering if anyone here has experience with that sub. I would like to see some opinions on this woofer as nobody around here runs IA... I have only heard 4 21'' wardens before and that was a burp van so yea.... I just got a killer deal on some DP's and know that IA is made here in the USA and not many people here in Missouri run them so I want to be different and insanely loud Everything helps please let me know what you think.

I know that Sound Splinter is going to have the better woofer, but its still $200 dollars. Although I really only have room for 8's. Possibly a sealed ten, but I want to port for maximum output. So that leaves the fabled question... Because I can get Polk Momos wholesale for like 44 dollars each, and if that would be the better choice... more cone area and cheaper to get louder I would do it. Although, I have always wanted to try an rl-i so I thought I would discuss it. Reason being is this (these) are going behind the rear seat of the jeep wrangler soft top. I need to have the box small and unseen under the little deck in the back. Let me know what you think. Because t…

Hey guys, Just need a few opinions. For the new season, I'm going to go with 2 15's instead of 1. Only thing is, I'm using RE Audio right now, shud I just buy a second RE SX, or I've been looking at the Memphis MOJO 15's or the Digital Design 9515's or the Fi BTL 15's w/ full options. I'm going to be running 2 SAZ-1500d's strapped from Jacob at Sundown . Which ones would be the best bang for my buck? I'll be using this as strictly a SPL setup only. I really like this SX I'm running now, but as you all know, you always want more.....haha Thanks for anyones input. Anybody prefer 1 sub over another... and why? Just looking to pick the best sub available that I'm looking at…

First im going to do the 6.5's then the Assasin's. Well, Got them installed yesterday. I must say in short, well worth the money. I bought these 6.5" Co-Axil's as a stand in for a pair of Type-R 6.5"-Axil's. I've heard the Type R's before but these where tons cheaper. Deciding that even if they didnt sound as clear my GF wouldnt notice a difference, she just wants music and her mom and I just want to save money (we are cheap, I know). I purchased the pair from flakko. They where about $55, dont know what the real cost/shipping was since they where also purchased with a USamps IS2080. No the USamps wasnt used for the review, yes i know it would have been better but i…

OK, I am going to get a little more specific. I have an F150 crew cab, that right now I have 2 cheap planet audio 10"s under the rear seat. I am looking for a set of subs to replace these that will get louder. the mounting depth is 4 3/4 inches, max. And will play in an enclosure of .5 cu ft. Or has anyone used the single 10 in a ported enclosure under the seat? Or does anyone have any other ideas for a crew cab f150 that is still a family truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The two subs that I am looking at so far that will fit are the JL 10w1v2 or the Kicker comp10.

For general purposes- is 3 10s in their largest recommended ported box going to be "potentially" louder than 2 12s in their smallest recommended ported box? Power comparison- 10s would receive maximum recommended rms, 12s would receive double recommended but small box would control movement better. I've kinda asked this question many different ways but i am now in a hurry and need to know from u guys who have had experience with just enough volume and just right volume and so on... I am leaning towards the 3 10s just because i fear a just enough volume for 12s would lack low bass even if power is doubled.... It's my opinion so i am looking for facts before i place the wro…

Alright, well i saw a local add up, and look what i ended up getting! BTL N2 18" Picked it up used for $380. Looked pretty good in shape, im not going to be picky because Fi subs are very few up where i live. The only real 'damage' that i saw was the surround was a little bit frayed, but not too much. Here's a picture of it. Anyways! Im stoked. Somebody local has a Soundstream TDX2000D for sale so im pretty sure ill be picking that up to power this baby. All i need is my box design and i should be murdering my Impala.
