I have Soundsplinter 15 in a 2.0 cu ft box. I would like to go to SI MAg 12. I would like to have output similar to a 15 so I want to go ported. How much SQ do u really lose. It goes in the trunk of Grand prix. I listen to some rap, but also some metal, reggae, and even techno. If u seal a Magnum do u hinder some of its marvelous attributes. I will be running Old School Orion( Pre DEI disaster) XTR Pro 1000

ok, well i'm looking into getting two new Mags possibly but know that the upgrade process will take a little time due to money. I have a concept CC-D1200 that at 1ohm does somewhere from 1200-1400RMS and at 2ohms does 900-1100RMS. So for one sub i know i'm fine but when i get the second one i'll have to be at 2ohms and didn't know if 450-550RMS is too little for them. i would hope that i will add a 2nd amp to them but I may be replacing the concept amp at the same time. Will i run into underpowering issues if run at 450RMS? It will be in a sealed 1.5cu ft per sub box.

I've been out of the car audio scene for a long time....used to run Fi audio way back when I did competitions...trying to get back into it a bit and put a couple stout 8" subs under the rear seats in my 21 Ram 1500 crew cab....what does everyone recommend? Guessing ill end up doing a 1500 - 2000 watt amp....I'm more of an spl guy if that matters but obviously need something that works well without a ton of space for an enclosure....unsure of budget as of yet, so suggestions in all price ranges are welcome....any help/advice is appreciated!

I am debating about getting another sa 15 and building a new box, or just sell the sa 15 and put the money to a new zv.3 15. The box i currently have is 4.1cubic ft tuned to 32hz. My amp is an american bass ph4000md. I would just like other input from others to help make my decision.

I recently got a 2006 Pontiac G6 and I want to carry over most of my curent system. i.e. HU, Maw-15's. But the G6 comes with 6.5's in the doors and 6x9's on the back deck. Which opens up all kinds of possibilities since my last car only had 6x8s all the way around. My question is. What speakers will be good to have? I seen the Mach 5 6.5s but I really would like to keep the speakers the same brand. So What Speakers are a good choice. My Budget is Probably about $200. Thanks in advance. here are the speaker specs again Front = 6.5 Rear = 6x9 ~MadroX

  8. Sorry in advance for the stupid questions... I've had my ICON 12" D2 for a week today after owning an Orion 12D for 15 years. I've been playing with it very much. (Review to follow) BUT Yesterday, I changed my speaker wire from 14AWG (regular speaker wire) to 10AWG (Oxygen Free) cable. My questions is: Could this make my sub play louder and harder? I'm running it a 1ohm driven by a Orion 1200D amp. I had to turn down my gain a little cause I found it louder than with the 14 gauge wire. Am I hallucinating? Can it be that much louder? Could it make a difference? I know I'm 46 Years old but c'mon! I changed the wire cause I read somewhere that running on 1 ohm you should use…

  13. First im going to do the 6.5's then the Assasin's. Well, Got them installed yesterday. I must say in short, well worth the money. I bought these 6.5" Co-Axil's as a stand in for a pair of Type-R 6.5"-Axil's. I've heard the Type R's before but these where tons cheaper. Deciding that even if they didnt sound as clear my GF wouldnt notice a difference, she just wants music and her mom and I just want to save money (we are cheap, I know). I purchased the pair from flakko. They where about $55, dont know what the real cost/shipping was since they where also purchased with a USamps IS2080. No the USamps wasnt used for the review, yes i know it would have been better but i…

OK, I am going to get a little more specific. I have an F150 crew cab, that right now I have 2 cheap planet audio 10"s under the rear seat. I am looking for a set of subs to replace these that will get louder. the mounting depth is 4 3/4 inches, max. And will play in an enclosure of .5 cu ft. Or has anyone used the single 10 in a ported enclosure under the seat? Or does anyone have any other ideas for a crew cab f150 that is still a family truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The two subs that I am looking at so far that will fit are the JL 10w1v2 or the Kicker comp10.

Hey guys i'm playing with kerf port design. But i'm clueless on how big the kerf needs be, compared to the size of the port. The port i'm using is 2.5 x 37.5. Should the kerf be the the same size as the port width or half the port width? Here is the design so everyone can see how i'm tring to get the kerf.

I got a new car last year and was not going to put a sub in this car because I don't want to loose the room but I can't take it anymore so it time to find the right sub. I have a Phoenix Gold Xenon 600.1 to run what ever sub I get. so I have 600-800 wrms to give it. I want to run 1 10" sub sealed in a small box say .5- to may be 1 foot. I have had PG subs in the past and liked them a lot. I tried a RE SE12 a few years back RPLI12 and 8s. I had the 12 ported and they did get low but for some reason I like 10s better so I ened up with 2 PG rsd 10s in my last car. I listen to all kinds of music. So I see SSA has a new sub coming out soon so I was thinking about the GCON a S…

I'm planning on buying a new system during winter for next summer and I wanted to go with 2 15" sub in a ported box. I know its a hard question to answer but how much power will I need to run them? I was looking at the RE SEX15D4 but I havent made up my mind on them 100% yet. But in general how much power would be nneded to run dual 15"? Should I go with 1 amp for both or 1 amp per sub?

I'm expanding my research here so i can get the pros and cons of different equipment. In an earlier thread, Dave Brooks and other suggested i use HLCDs with 4Kw of bass so i don't drown out the stock tweeters that wouldnt be there by that time anyway. Anyway, i came across another gadget, a Horn Loaded tweeter with specs as good, if not Better than Image Dynamics HLCDs. These tweeters cost a little less, but i have questions on the technology in general, not really the product itself. Here is info - http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc...p;idproduct=363 Efficiency - 107Db @1W/1M 50wrms I tried to find some research on them and i found a little but do not know if i…

Alright, this just might be me being stupid but here it goes. Someone locally has Three SA-12's up for sale and i was kind of curious what your opinions on this was. Iv had no experience with SA-12's at all, and i was only curious if this would be more of an upgrade or a downgrade on my part? Id be keeping the amplifier i have now, an AB 100.1 so ill be running about ~1500wrms. Im thinking if it would be an upgrade in my part ill trade him my BTL for his 3 SA-12's. The main reason I think this would be a good trade is 2 reason: -more cone area with the SA-12's -more motor force with multiple subs So if the QUALITY of the subs is on par... i might try this out. Not s…

I dont know what to do with thei TC e12a. I had planned to have it reconed to an 18 with SX soft parts but its so sexy. i dunno. But its broken everywhere i read these things hit so loud and so clean, some say there isnt another driver made to date with the same clarity, which makes since since a flat piston is optional. But, i go back to the fact that the basket is broken. This would be alot easier if it was an eclipse. if only somehow i could save the coil or have an exact one remade, have a custom 18" cone made and have it all put togather. GRRR. Opinions? How many of these e12a's are floating around that arent blown....or can you still get these reconed somehow?

what can i put on the crack to help it hold together for the time being, its a sligh crack, and its not really getting any bigger, but it probably will with time, i bought it for the mini cooper, and im gonna use it until i need a recone. it doesnt have any affect on performance so at the moment a recone doesnt concern me. but im wondering if theyres anything i can put on the crack to help hold it together (hopefully something that wont be too ugly either) but ill have to live with it. Guys, I have a really dumb question that I'm a little embarrassed to ask. I'm in the planning phase of doing a sealed fiberglass sub enclosure for a friend. My personal sub setup is infinite baffle. I did one sealed enclosure like 5 years ago and have since forgotten the answer to this question. When the sub manufacturer gives you the cubic footage for a sealed enclosure (in this case, .75 cu ft), does this INCLUDE or EXCLUDE the displacement of the sub itself? In other words, do I need to add to the .75 to allow for the space taken up by the magnet/etc, or do I simply make a box that has .75 cu ft of air space? If the answer is that I have to add the displacement of …
