Just wanted to let those know who have not read the thread which I replied on that the Mag's are being built this Tuesday!! Packaging is going to take longer than actually building the drivers, so the official release date has yet to be posted. I will keep this forum updated though.

alright, so i currently have an 18" nightshade that im getting reconed...i kinda wanna go with a 15 instead to shed some wait off of my car...its slow as shit as it is lol, so im wanting to go a bit smaller. how much output would i lose if i went to a 15. as long as the box is still just as good it shouldn't be a noticable difference right? any help would be great guys. thanx.

Currently have two RF T2D412 in 4 cube ported box in my 04 Dodge Durango. I am running them with two RF T1500bd-cp. Have extra battery and a 270a alt ran with all 1/0. The subs get loud and i have been served well by them. That being said they are not the most musical subs in the world and I have been eyeballing the XCONs for a long time now. Im going to sell the box and subs i have now and get new subs at tax time. So here is my question, are the XCONs my best bet with the power im running. At two ohms I SHOULD be around 1600w per sub. Also in that vehicle with that setup what size box should I build and how much port area is ideal? Would love input from anyone willing t…

I have a 2004 tahoe and I am going to change my sub stage. My electrical consists of a 300 amp alt., 4 deka intimidators group 31 in the back, and a intimidator group 34 up front, big three, and two runs of 0 gauge. I want to spend around two grand and my goals are a nice, somewhat "musical" sounding daily driver with a lot of output. I am hoping to hit 150+ at 30 Hz eventually. But if tuning needs to be a bit higher that is fine with me, preferably around 32-33 Hz. I guess that would make me save my goal for another day, but ultimately something above 150 is what I want. The allowable dimensions for my box are roughly W49.5" by H27" by D35", although I am striving for l…

So I bought some used DD 9917s off **** and apparently they were just reconed. Well, I had a box built for one of them just to try it out and I started to play it in the car and it wasn't exactly very loud and literally after a minute or so, the sub completely locked up. It was wired to two ohms @ 3000 watts which is pretty much nothing for a 9917. So, after that, I hook up the other one. I notice the strong smell of a burning sub after about 20 seconds of playing it loud then about 2 hours later it starts making a sound like a spring vibrating or something. This one isn't blown YET but I sense it's damaged. When I push down on it, I can feel it rubbing. Any of you guys …

My buddy wants to know which would be the loudest set up... He is starting out with BoX/Sub first before he buys the AMP. should he go 2 12's 1 15's or 1 18 (if he can fit it in that dimension) SUB choices BTLS, LEVEL 5's, MAYHEMS!! REMEMBER the loudest possible set up!! We just measured his trunk and the biggest he can go is L 27" x W 32'' x H 17"

So I was thinking about it today and I hear a lot of mixed opinions on subwoofer size and its benefits regarding sound quality and SPL. I'd like to here everyone's say on this one between a 10 a 12 and a 15 what are the main advantages or disadvantages of each of these as well as say 2 10s vs. 1 12 or 2 12s vs. 1 15 or even 2 or more 10s vs. a 15. what would you gain vs. what would you lose. As much details and actual real world evidence as possible. Lookin forward to hearing some good responses. Have at it. Also you could vote for your favorite setup above.

I have set a budget for $150 per sub...... I am really wanting at least 12's. And I need some input on which subs within this price range will have the best bang the buck. I was looking at the Alpine SWR-1222D as a possible candidate. But that was purely just a suggestion for myself. After I figure out what subs I want to get I will try and figure out what amp will push them the best. Thanks in Advance. ~MadroX

hey guys i built a sub box for my friend 3.5 cubes at 40 hz aero ported. we put a alpine type r 15 in it and we blew it in a day i was running 1100 watts rms into it i know its only rated for 750 rms . i was running that 15 in a 34 hz 3.5 cube box with no problem with the same amp. Why is that the cone seperated from the voice coil. is it cause of more air flow it over extended? so which sub should i go with an fi? sound splinter? aa? ssa? and he wants to spend at most 250 for a 15. Oh and by the way i never heard a type r 15 get so loud that box made it rediculous. thanks guys in advance Billy

I'm trying to decide on the most efficient route for my summer build..I tried to come up with different variables about one of the two but no luck... Three ethos or two sp4 on 7k watts 1.sp4 Higher quality 4"vc Larger enclosure 4th order friendly Can take a lot more than rms which man's room to upgrade amp(s) with no worries Ethos More cone area Lower price tag Doesn't require large enclosures

Right now I currently have a Saturn Ion stock everything, my front stage is getting worked on just waiting on some tweeters to add and it will be complete so no need to worry about that. I will be getting a 200A alternator, 2-XS Power D3100's/Kinetick HC2400/Shuriken SK-BT120 for batteries (the alternator will be wired with 4/0 as with primary batter, the primary battery to secondary battery hook-up wil be 2/0 gauge, and the rest is 1/0 for system). I have 3-12" Kicker CVX's in a 5.79ft.^3 @ 25.94 hz and I currently trying to sell one individually or all three together but that process is still being worked out. I luv the lows that is why my box is tuned so low but the n…

So I finally installed my cheap Rockford components (well tried too) and they don't fit. Every place on line says that my jimmy has 6.5s but these are just barely too big. So since I already have them do i need to buy different speaker housing or can i just cut out a circle of wood, glue it to the housing and then screw the speaker to that?

  20. Hello, I am going to be putting a 12" XCON in a ported box into my Passat. I was looking at the Crescendo 2000D to power it at 1ohm. Since I'm on stock electronics I was thinking I will just keep it at about half gain maybe slightly higher and see how everything does. I do plan to do some upgrades or possibly add a second battery. My trunk comes designed to house a battery so "I THINK" it would be an easy addtion. Do the Gain's work like that? If the AMP is rated at 2250RMS and the gain is set at halfway does that mean I will rougly be putting 1125RMS to the sub? Any Enclosure recomendations? Right now i'm planning to just use the SSA optimal enclosure design,…

  21. me and my cuz made 2 boxes...1 is ported and its ABOUT 3 cubic ft^3 tuned to 32 Hz...i say "about" cause minus the wood thickness, port displacement, and the subs volume its around 3. i dont have the exact measurements of the port right now the other one was sealed at 1.6 ft^3 my problem with it is its LOUD when you sit in the car but not when you're outside with both of these boxes. i didn't try it in my car yet cause i dont got wires hooked up yet but i tried it in my cousins 1995 ford taurus and we weren't happy about it and he didn't know why it wouldnt hit hard. he has a old garbage pioneer HU in his car but it should of still hit harder than it did. i mean when i he…

I want loud daily subs with the ability to get low. These will be ran off of an Saz 3000d @ 1 ohm. This will be a daily system and may do a little streetbassing here and there..
