ok. i built my boxes (still unsure about the subs), and the port came out looking funny. I'm almost sure, but just to be extra sure, i figured someone could help me out. when i ported my boxes, i took the cubic inches of a different boxe's port (3 cubes at 34 htz) and used the same on my 3 cube box (also at 34 htz) the difference is that it isnt as deep, but longer... even though the dimensions are different, because they both have the same cubic inches of port, it's still tuned to the same freq, correct? thanks

So I have been rebuilding my system over the past month and have had the subs in and out of the enclosure testing the fit and where I need to go to move forward. I noticed today that the top slug, AA Havoc 12", is mis aligned roughly a 16th of an inch from the others. The coil isn't rubbing anywhere within normal stroke, but I am concerned about this causing issues later after they are installed. Here is a pic. Do you think I should just send it back and have it repaired? Will it be ok? Will it effect performance? I have never had this happen before, so any help would be appreciated. Chris

I know how useful caps are (or rather aren't) in a vehicle, but how about a smaller application, like my backpack? I haven't had the opportunity to experiment with this idea, so what do you guys think? For anyone who doesn't know, I use an Everstart 12v Motorcycle battery. It's about 6"x3"x5", not big, but it is enough to run most amps I have thrown in the bag (My oldschool Kenwood 60w 4 ch, my 100w Jensen, and my 200w Earthquake <-- R.I.P); however, deep bass notes tend to make the voltage sag (duh). I was planning on adding more batteries, and saying to hell with back pain (most recent design is pretty lightweight anyway, I have room to mess around) but if I could ad…

Looking for a 10" DVC 4ohm.The box has .75 cu ft and a mounting depth of around 8". Space is very limited and I can't get a bigger box unless I want to take up the whole rear, which I don't want to do. Everybody has Alpine Type-R subs around here and I would like to not go that route.I'm sure that their are some brands I'm not aware of that you guys do. I would say around $150 for the sub. Got 600rms @ 2ohm to give it.

I have a 2012 tracker fishing boat. I would like to put a very small and simple system into it. No subs probably just left and right. Amped. Bluetooth deck. Location for the speakers will be lower on the left and right side of the boat. There is actually storage boxes on both sides that run the length of the boat back. Obviously way more air space than what will be needed but they are something that stays closed. That's where speakers will more than likely go. I plan to purchase a lower end pioneer Bluetooth capable h/u. I currently own a few 2 ch amps I can use offering up to 100 rms per channel. I own a set of fosgate power series 2 way 6x9s I could use. My goal for thi…

Been looking into 15" driver's that work really well in small sealed enclosures 2cubes and below. The old power series of Rockford fosgate hx2 caught my attention with the recommended size of 1.25 sealed for a 15(before sub displacement). Is that correct does the driver hit a low enough frequency response in that recommended size of box? Just had the rf,dc lvl3,dayton ho on my list of drivers....Is this worth my time looking at a older style driver?

I've decided that my days of trying to rattle windows and shake off mirrors are over, plus I get tired of having to take the box out whenever I need the room. Now all I'm wanting is a little bottom end to my music. What I've been looking at is some of the cheaper, smaller subs on Parts Express. I'm trying to figure out if it would be better to try and fit a single sub up front somewhere (under the seat, etc) or do multiple subs in the back in the spare tire well? The only thing that concerns me about subs in the spare tire well is that since they are so small and so far back, there won't be much output all the way up front (maybe this thinking is wrong ). I plan on …

so i have 2 15" mags powered by my Incriminator 20.1 @ 0.5 ohms. And it gets loud and sounds great but i would love to go ported but just can't fit a 7^3@30 htz box in my trunk. So what would be the smallest ported enclosure you would use for 2 15"s? i can fit 5 cf@30 no problem but much more than that and i'm hurtin'

I have a mach5 audio MJ-18 i would like to throw it in a ported box but space is a huge issue. I could do 3.5 maybe 4 cubes at 34hz. will be giving the sub between 600-800 rms. i know its not optimal but it would be better than sealed correct

Just wanted to say hey guys, long time to talk to. Been super busy and that first vid I posted was a pos, second coming soon! Ok now on topic -- When I first got my system running I noticed there was a smell to it. Not a bad smell but just something strange; best I can describe it is the smell of a fresh built, just turned on computer. The reason why I relate it to this is because I just re-built my computer today and notiecd this is how it smells. I have never smelled burning nor have I ever heard the woofer "bottom out". The excursion looks alright to my knowledge for the lowest song I have put at it. I do like to ride around though with the volume up pretty high, somet…

Hey, Yall I just made an account for this page and I have a very important question... Last week I switched my set up from a 1.9 cubic foot sealed box with 2 10" kicker comp ds to a 2.0 cubic foot ported box and I have an awful smell at high bass. I did take my truck and have a local audio shop tune my kicker 1200 watt amp and it still smells... The subs are in perfect condition but they are about 3 years old but the box is a week old... If you need any more info please respond on here or email me at [email protected] Have a great day!

So im looking to get a new system and i have been doing some research on FI car audio. Recently though i have seen a lot of people talking about the sundown sa 8s and ive watched some videos and i really like them. so my question is, what would be better for a daily driver who wants to get loud. 2 15" fi btl n2s on around 3000 watts or so or 4 sundown sa 8s on around 2000-2500 watts.

I read somewhere that they will be back up and running in late October? that would be sweet. I sure hope they get back into it, such a great company/product/service etc. They are a no B.S. company I like to say, you get what they tell you you get, a damn fine product with unbelievable quality. I also hope they don't abandon the SI 8 idea. sure could use some.

I've narrowed my choices down to a few options and since this is a slow process I've had the luxury of changing my mind a dozen times. In the back of my Focus hatcback I'm planning a single 15 on what will most likely be a 3500-4000 watt Crescendo, Autotek (old school), Ampere, etc and it'll be in what is most likely a 3.7ish net tuned to mid/high 30s. Mostly rock and some rap for daily listening and decaf for demo. So there are a few subs that seem to fit my application but it's a tough call. Maybe all would be great but who knows. I know the SSA Evil will come highly recommended but the DC Lvl5 and AA Team are right there in terms of capability. Is the SSA being bu…

I Just got the ca clue for my dustcaps and now i finally have 2 working XXX 15s. I jacked my friends sealed box he built for his XXX 15 in a trunk and due to size i have it facing up at an angle. It sounds loud as fudge even running at 1kw and actually keeps up to techno as compared to the ported box i had before (made for an MT so the bar wasnt set high) Anyway i sorta have 2 options interms of a box for me. I can either Try a T-line for a single 15 running off 1kw (only issues are size because its a 32" box and the top of my trunk is only 31"... i sorta want to see if a chitload of sanding may work to give me the angle i need and how well it may work for the XXX because…
